The guy sitting on the side of the stage is working. He’s a stage tech looking out for anything that happens so he can help the band. Mic falls over, guitar string breaks etc. He’s working.
Mario the drummer describes the constant double bass as going into a trance. He practices an hour a day on double bass alone. Hes like the most disciplined drummer ever! Just loves his craft.
Yes sir, welcome to transcendant music. It just happens to be wrapped in one of the heaviest packages imaginable. And filled with monstrous passion.
Lyrically, my take is that he finds the monsters of this world to be internal, not external. He is (and therefore we all are) the dragon he beholds.
The hero's journey, defeat the dragon :), within. This song actually bring so much hatred into me, it is healing.

I find funny how you called out that guy at 13:50 because it remind me when I saw Gojira live. It was their first time on Mexico and they "opened" for Mastodon. They started playing and people were just sitting there and looking at them and I thought "well... I guess no one really knows them" but as soon as Joe started talking to the crowd everyone went crazy. It was pretty bizzarre. All of us were just watching them, hearing this amazing musicians play their asses off like they were playing acoustic chill songs so I totally get that guy. He's just enjoying it. Maybe you find that lame but I thought it was crazy and pretty funny how we were just enjoying it like it wasn't death/groove metal haha
After Gojira finished more than half of the audience left, I stayed for Mastodon and on the second song me and my girlfriend were like "bruh.. we just watched this amazing band, this lame rock band has nothing on them, let's just leave" (nothing against Mastodon but after the show Gojira gave there was no point)
You know what, when you put it that way. It makes sense and I can even relate haha thank you for that perspective!
On the another note, when the “opening” band/act gets more attention than the headliner...you know their special! Gojira definitely is!
@@PoppaWatSonYTTV Yeah it was a few years back just when their album Magma was starting to make fuzz and they weren't that big to be the headliner. They became pretty well known very quickly

Very nice reaction video you just earned a suscriber here. I'm a gojira fan, what I like the most about them is how they put up the lyrics I mean it always have deep meaning. I suggest you look into there first album, it's incredibly dark and wicked. Metal up 🤘
So if I'm not mistaken this song is off of From Mars to Serius which is a concept album. In is a story where mankind destroys the earth. Goes much deeper but to explain this song that where I'm stopping. Where the dragons dwell is inside mankind because they have such destructive behaviors when it comes to our environment.
