  • This was absolutely crushing. Does anyone come close to how good they are live? Like this insane honestly. The amount of energy and urgency put into their music is just mouth watering honestly like this is real art right here.

Trust me, you owe it to yourself to experience this band to the fullest. I totally recommend Mario Duplantier's drum solos on RUclips, there's about 4. His 2022 solo is the most insane drum solo in the world truly. It's the most beautiful sound ever. I tripped on mushrooms and listened to it on repeat for 6 hours loving it so much lol.
For songs next one I'd recommend is From The Sky. Lyrics are amazing as always

In the Wilderness is probably one of Mario's most underrated drumming songs, but a monster. Saw them live I think in 2017, and it was by far the best show I've been to.

The next step with Gojira, and in my opinion the most important, is checking out their lyrics. Spiritual, intelligent, severe, hopeful, truthful, passionate. The music is incredible but their writing separates them from the pack.
This is an amazing exploration of our own monstrousness - the realization that dragons dwell within us. It’s Joe confronting this within himself:
A deep voice is rising from the heart of the mountain
Vibrations of the stone I can hear in my heart
The call of instinct, the flight of the powerful
I hunger for it, it just keeps me alive
I met the dragon in a cave by the mountain
Now I bring the evidence the beast is alive
This ageless army will strike in the morning
And then a star will rise and shine in the sky
But I grow impatient, cannot stand the wait
And I start to dig within me this tunnel to I
In this region of me, a great dragon is lying
On the wealth of a mighty world, my own world inside
    I saw, I saw monsters
And I, and I started, started to dig within
When I, when I turn my
Turn my back on them, they devour me
    In this region of
Me, a dragon is lying there awake
    Monster, monster kings, do
Do not scorn them, but do not fear them, no
    Muster, muster thy army, army
    Dragons are the myth alive
    In the heart of men

I’m not here to give negative thoughts unless it’s really bad or really stands out. I prefer to build up and be constructive then deconstructing in my personal opinion. But that’s the beauty of reaction channels, there’s positive and there’s negative ones. And then there’s me, who’s mostly positive but if something is bad in my opinion I will point it out :)

@@L33Reacts Well, that's all good intent my friend. But it decreases the value of the good critique and might come off as less honest. How will we even know what really stands out to you?... No two persons can enjoy all music equally and that's also the charm: Even the ones with most similar taste to mine present stuff I don't really enjoy and disapprove of some that I love. Makes it the more exciting when you can't really know beforehand. And when you're honst about when it really clicks it means the more!

@@progperljungman8218 The major problem is if a reactor or commenter has a negative comment the freaks that cannot stand a criticism of "their" band come out of the woodwork to attack you. Been trashed for even slight criticism by babymetal, Bandmaid, Nightwish, Warning, Epica, and other bands "fans.". One reason I no longer watch reactions to Warning and the kawaii bands. Not a bad song, but waaayyy too long. That whole "intermission" served no purpose that I could see. Need to look at the lyrics, I have no idea what this song was about. Not a song I will listen to often, if ever again but it was interesting as a one off. Still not sure if I like Gojira, some songs blew me away, some left me meh. Keep rocking.

@@L33Reacts Yeah, I enjoyed almost all of it, still haven't had a chance to look at the lyrics to see what this was about. I wonder if the "intermission" was something they threw in for the live show only? Interesting, I may check and see, now really curious.

    • @allenvrabac4827

It's so atmospheric, too bad you couldn't catch the energy happening in the break there, and the subsqeuent build up. It's about the live experience; the studio version is considerably shorter anyway.

    • @alancarter41
      @alancarter41 Год назад

@@allenvrabac4827 Yeah, "atmosphere" doesn't translate well to video generally. On the other hand, the "intermission" during Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" does an amazing job of building tension with the use of a backing track. maybe Gojira should have had something going on besides dead space. Just saying...
