She sang this at the tribute for Roy Orbison...on request of the family and it was truly incredible...
Roy is who i think of when i hear KD... they are on a special level together.
And that has to be the highest possible compliment. He was amazing.
Since you liked her singing you should find the video of her singing at the award show in Alulstalia singing Hallelujah her voice is amazing
He needs to listen to Roy Orbison.

Pitch perfect. Brilliant. So underrated. Best Canadian female singer ever. Love her.
I am sorry but "best" is so overused....we have Celine, Shania, Joni Mitchell, Anne Murray to name a few!! KD Kang is great and we are proud she is a Canadian...but she is "one of our many best"....
While I like those other women I have to agree that KD is the best Canadian female singer ever! ❤
⁰@@KColes63.
I wouldn't restrict that to just Canadian singer. Her range, her vocalization, her passion...it's just gob smacking. Saw her twice live and I'd see her again if given the chance. I'm just sorry she's not out there any more.
@@KColes63Those other women are good, and some would even call a number of them great, but none of them has the sheer vocal power to infuse a song with passion the way K. D. does. Audiences don't just hear her music, they feel it.
The absolute clarity and purity of her voice puts today’s artists to absolute shame. No autotune. Just a miraculous gift channeled directly from the depths of the universe. All of creation sits in her vocal chords and breath.
Her voice is a God given gift.
Well said .
Bravo!! What a voice!
KD Lane is perhaps one of the top three vocalist of our lifetime
*Lang, and I agree.
Katy Lang is from Canada. This is a cover song of Roy Oberson‘s crying. She was the first openly lesbian singer to ever hit it big in America in the early 1990s. She has a lovely voice the music industry wasn’t kind to her. I remember when she came onto the sceneand she took old standards that my generation grew up and loved and put her touch to them, reviving our memories and keeping alive and entire generation of music for the younger generation. She has my utmost respect. Always will.
I so agree.
She started in C&W but was not respected . She kep trying and doesn't have to look back .
Keep singing KD LANG !
More than just a cover, KD Lang got her first big break in CW when Roy Orbison sought her out to sing a duet on one of his signature songs (Crying) in 1989. While her alternative lifestyle (came out as lesbian in 1989) was problematic to some CW fans at the time, in 1990 she still won the Grammy for Best Female Country vocalist and in 2002 was ranked No. 26 on CMT's 40 Greatest Women in Country Music.
I remember my dad enjoying her music. ❤
She is a fantastic singer. Not only did she come out as gay and got a lot of backlash. Then she made a huge campaign about animal rights about “meat stinks “. Anyone from Canada knows Alberta is a the province known for a lot of cattle ranching and this didn’t go over well. I felt for her but I also felt she had a right to stick up for her opinions thoughts and feelings. Now both being gay and anti meat consumption is not a issue but it was rough times for her for a while
K.D. Lang is covering Roy Orbisons Crying...rarely does someone do an original justice....his is powerful, hers is divine.
You should listen to Roy Orbison’ rendition. It’s his song.
It's k d lang, actually.
ABSOLUTELY!!! A MUST!! And I'm a huge kd fan!!!@@jeanettekermaninejad5165
@@jeanettekermaninejad5165It is his song. She sang it correctly and powerfully. Such a respectable tribute tribute
@@jeanettekermaninejad5165 The highest possible compliment was Orbison asking Lang to do a duet of Crying with him. Obviously he was (rightly) impressed with her version of it. After Roy died, the family asked her to perform crying at his tribute.
KD Lang could sing her shopping list and I’d listen. ♥️
To any budding female singers, THIS is how you sing emotions without the need to wale your head off.
A true gem of a voice.
Bingo!! She's a contralto like Cher, Karen Carpenter and Annie Lennox. She has a lovely smooth, rich vocal tone that equals Karen Carpenter's and knows just how to imbue emotions into a piece with subtle phrasing, and building as well as using her face and body to convey what she feels.
Well said!!!👍👍
100%
Yeah…tell beyonce please.
K D Lang has a great voice, but her face and body do her no favors.@@Gwennedd
KD is amongst a very ,very few vocalists that have perfect pitch, incredible range and control. Ive been following her from the start of her career and she is certainly one of the best vocalists I have ever heard.
She's THE BEST that I've ever heard, although I don't think this performance was one of her best.
You don't have to be gay to love kd lang ❤❤
Awesome voice pitch perfect 🥰
Who said you did?
As a 73 year old woman I loved this song when Roy Orbison made it a hit but when I heard KD' s rendition it blew me away. Thanks!
In my opinion, their duet performance of Crying is the very best performance of it.
Johnny Ray did it first early 60's
Same
Her version of Hallelujah at the Vancouver Olympics was nothing short of beautiful ❤
KD Lang is a Canadian National Treasure.
ABSOLUTELY 🇨🇦
KD is simply beautiful. Please give the artists most of the screen!
She has a voice that is ethereal. To have that ability to capture that level of heartache from Roy Oberson's classic but then sign her own name to it is unbelievable.
KD Langs voice is just unbelievable. One of the best female voices I have ever heard. I love her :D
That last long "over you" in one breath with ease ....
Her voice makes angels weep tears of pure joy…..perfection 💕💕💕
❤❤❤
I swear it could cure cancer
Johnny Carson LOVED her. Brought him to tears more then once. He told her that she had an open invitation to come on his show whenever she wanted. I don't think he did that for many...if any...other singer. Another Canadian Talent. We're small but we turn out a lot of great music.I'm just saying! :)
There are a lot of great entertainers from Canada . . . but I'm not sure any of 'em top the Trailer Park Boys. Any country with a government that provides some of the funding for that show, has got to be one of greatest countries ever.
The softness of her voice is as powerful as her power notes. She just has a beautiful tone to her voice.
It's hard to find very many humans who are POWERHOUSES at vocals, AND so EMOTIVE, at the same time! This Lady can DO IT!! GLAD you listened to this one!! HUGS, POLO!
Have you heard the great Sarah Vaughn? Or Eric Clampton singing with Pavarotti (tears). Great like AL Greene singing "How do you mend a broken
heart?"
@@doloresschultz8393 YES!! ....and enjoy them, too!!! ❤️❤️❤️
MY god, I love this so much......been a fan of KD Lang for over 30 years.....her voice is transcendent.....no words
KD was one of Roy Orbison's back up singers.
We Canadians have enjoyed her talent for years.
GO KD!!
I have loved her for years.
Awesome kd ❤
Love KD..I am from Alberta Canada where she was born...her voice always gives me chills ..thanks
Just so much power and colour in her voice. Just LOVE her!!
She also sang this as a duet with Roy Orbison. It is absolutely spellbinding.
❤️❤️❤️
The way she sings and the passion in her voice is the love that most of us crave, it is that painful and beautiful
She has a voice that attaches itself to my soul.
Her breathe control is off the scale!
you need to hear her in an auditorium setting - her voice will chill you to the bones
Her voice is amazing, react to her song Constant Craving, will blow you away ❤
That's my favorite K D Lang song.
Love constant craving🎼🎼🎼
International treasure!!! Unsurpassed. Thank you Canada for fostering this talent. A gift from God.
I'm so glad you have discovered the wonderful K.D. Lang. Us older generation have been fortunate to love her for decades.
My favorite rendition of K.D. singing 'Crying'. In this performance she gives me the feeling of someone with a broken heart trying to hold it together only to break out in wails of anguish when the memory becomes to much to bear. Lang's duet with Roy Orbison of 'Crying' is good, she holds back some to let Roy have the spotlight. I agree with other's here that "Constant Craving" is a must hear.
Constant craving is one of my favorite of her songs. I was a fan of hers way back in the 90’s.. maybe even earlier!! I don’t recall when her first albums hit the waves… but I played them often.
I loved her Roy Orbison tribute version
I agree @ziggymarlowe5654
that when KD and Roy Orbison sang "Crying" as a duet, she had held back, out of respect of course.
After years had passed, with the advancements of technology, computers, the WWW, PC's, social sites offering more and more options on watching, and or listening, to music, different artists, broadcasts, podcasts stations, channels, then finally online venues of being able to listen and watch all different kinds of music genres and eras as well!!
I was blown away when I saw this performance online shown on RUclips, with KD singing "Crying" solo!! This tribute to Roy Orbison was very well thought out and the best choices made, the song and singer was 💯% spot on! I don't know if this tribute was televised/broadcast- when it was made? I think someone in the comments said 1996?, anyhow, I never saw this if it was on TV. 😢 Just here on RUclips.
Stunning, mesmerizing, emotional, powerfully charged performance!! Wow wow wow! Blown away...
Play Anything that KD Lang sings and you will be transported to a different space and time for the better !’❤️🙏
I've watched several other "reactors" on U Tube, but I like Polo the best. His reactions are humble, honest, and heartfelt.
This song always gives me chill bumps when K.D. Lang sings it! ❤
This woman is one of the finest singers in the world in my opinion. And not just her voice. Her style , her performance and her instinctive ability to portray emotion is captivating and mesmerising. . The guy hit the nail on the head with his reaction. K D is the epitome of of class.
You get it, Polo. The appreciation and awe you felt listening to k.d. was heartwarming.
Her voice is spiritual perfection. Chills. Transporting me to a beautiful place. I’ve seen k.d. 20 times in concert, and I always leave uplifted …and charmed.
Kd is one of a kind - amazing talent and humble: an unusual combination. Her breathing control would creat envy in a swimmer.❤
Suggest you listen to Ella Fitzgerald sing “misty” and Sarah Vaughn sing almost anything. Two of the greats pre sixties, but Classics never die.❤
KD putting her vocal excellence on display with this song is incredible. You should hear her "Hallelujah" it is equally amazing.
Correction, her performance of Hallelujah is FAR more amazing. It is breathtaking.
Her voice is Sooo smooth & elegant. And what a range.
She was Tony Bennett’s favorite singer of this generation.
Anything by KD Lang!
Years and years ago I remember hearing Miss Lang for the first time . I literally stopped in my tracks . The voice of an Angel . My goodness what a gift she has been blessed with .
Thank🌷😊 you, PoLo !! Miss
K.D Lang is a nothing short of a TrEaSuRe ❤. I appreciate you
for sharing her performance. I didn't realize how much I needed
to hear her again. And yes, you really need 2 hear her do "Constant Craving"- a beautiful song that she does so somagnificently. Here's
wishing you VeRy HaPpY HoLiDaYs
Polo !! 🌲 🏡 ❤🌲
Her voice is so pure , so gorgeous…. This is one of my favorite songs …
She is pretty fantastic. Canada is very proud of her🇨🇦🇨🇦
What a wonderful voice perfect pitch and so smooth, love her singing again Thank you sooooo much
k.d. is one of my favorite female singers...her voice is mesmerizing & amazing ❤
When my heart is breaking I turn to KD Lang to meet me where I am--she never disappoints. This is a ROY ORBISON song and their duet will make you drop to your knees "Polo."
I'm my opinion, their duet is the very best version of Crying.
@@greeneyedlady5580 It is beautiful.
She steps right into a song as if she wrote it. Her phraseology is perfect. Impeccable control. Thanks for posting. Thrilled once again.
She may be the last of the great Torch Singers . She emotes the music , interpreting it differently all the time. A powerful vocalist but she takes us on a journey throughout the song. Her version of So in Love leaves me in tears . This is a Roy Orbison classic- A Beloved Artist
Wow. I loved the Roy Orbison version. I’ve liked other covers. But this one? WOWZERS. 🥰
If you haven't heard her Crying duet with Orbison, check it out. I can pretty much promise that you'll love it.
Love KD Lang! She has a beautiful voice.
BRILLIANT! ❤❤KD LANG !!!
I love your reaction to kd and her voice! She definitely has a spectacular voice. May i suggest you listen to her rendition of Hallelujah at the 2010 Winter Olympics. You won't be disappointed.
That is my fave version of her singing Cohen's classic. KD is beyond belief good.
She owns it .
Yes!
That rendition in particular moved me to literal tears. Absolutely divine.
I still get absolutely teary-eyed and completely in awe when I hear her sing the version from the 2010 Winter Olympics. It blew me away. She is a power house with an absolute beautiful voice. Truly a Canadian icon that I treasure.
This woman has the most incredible vocals , you see her words in beautiful colours, and feel every gorgeous note .I have listened to her for 30 years and she just keeps getting better .
Another great Canadian singer!
I love her Hallelujah.
i remember the first time i saw her debut on tv... had me from that moment over 50 years ago
Her live performance of Hallelujah at Vancouver Olympics is definitely a worthwhile watch.
She is amazing isn't she. I listen to her every night before I sleep her voice is the more beautiful than anyone I have ever heard in my 60 years. We are so proud of our Canadian girl🇨🇦 thanks for showing her 2 songs. I hope you listen to more you will enjoy them as well.
I love K D Lang! How could anyone not love her!
I'm crying, what voice control. I lovre her.
Wow just came across this randomly and it brought back so many memories from long ago. KD is one of the most underrated songstress' of her or anyother time. A Canadian treasure and gift to anyone that has had the pleasure of hearing her sing.
I love everything KD sings, such a lovely voice........
She never over does it. Canadians have talent.
K D lang always gives me chills any song she does
A league of her own.. chills and crying listening to her. ❤❤❤
Woke up to KD singing on Johnny Carson in early 1980; She continues to deliver extraordinary excellence…
Some people can sing and touch your soul this is one time. Dam..
Thank you for re introducing me back to KD. I have some of her CDs but they have been boxed up for years.
Another thing about her is that you can understand every word she sings. Pulling back the reigns, constant craving are other great songs of hers
Constant Craving is my favorite ❤
Pulling Back the Reins! YES!
Gives me chills! Can’t think of a word other than Amazing!
So great you have the opportunity to listen to KD Lang - we've known of her since she started out so many years ago. And yes the power of her voice truly evokes emotion. Thank you for sharing this.
I saw her at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary AB not long after Roy Orbison passed away, which wasn't too long after they had recorded a duet of Crying. It was a very emotional performance and in classic, old time, K.D. Lang style, she sang the song while laying on her back on the stage floor! My all time favourite female vocalist!
She is the best! I can listen to her sing this song forever! Wow! She's terrific! She does give me the chills!
Just thank you for appreciating the greatness that is k.d. Lange. We 🇨🇦 love her. Watch her sing Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah”, no one tops her version.
THIS WAS A COVER AND TRIBUTE TO ROY ORBISON.....AND SHE DID IT HONOR....THANKS FOR THE REACTION......MERRY CHRISTMAS POLO, TO YOU AND YOURS!!!!
Love her voice, she vocalises the emotions of the lyrics she sings
She has an amazing gift. My all time favourite is when she sings Hallelujah 💗
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone sing as beautiful as her.
Originally a beautiful song from Roy Orbison. KD Lang’s vocals are perfectly suited to this. She smashes it.
You should check out her version of hallelujah!!! It’s just beautiful!
Ty Polo for another amazing review.
Happy Holidays!
I believe he's done her version of Hallelujah!
@@kimkirsch-blasius4501 I think he should compare her performance at the opening of the Olympics. Her voice gives me all over chills...simply unbelievable vocals.
She is truly amazing.
One of our Canadian treasures - we have loved k.d.'s music or a VERY long time. Thank you for acknowledging that talent and promoting this beautiful musician.. My (now) husband heard her singing in a hotel lobbyb in Edmonton Alberta back in the late 1970's.
Watching you listen to & enjoy the song made me enjoy this performance even more!
Yep, chills. Every time I hear her sing this song.
K.D.Lang has the purest, most beautiful and glorious voice I've ever heard. She rarely sings any more. SO sad. This is a Roy Orbison song and she does a duet with him on this with some tight harmony. Thank you for playing it.
Mind boggling - chills every time. Exquisite. ❤
Another amazing reaction. I just love going down memory lane. A classic Roy Orbison song & one of two versions of K.D. Lang covering it. I believe she actually sang it with Roy also, so that would be worth watching. Roy Orbison is generally always a good place to go for incredible music.
She definitely has some pipes on her for sure!❤
Her voice is other worldly ~ Heaven ~ The Universe. I Love this woman. My favorite album is, Ingénue.
Her voice is mesmerising ,, thank you for this reaction
A Canadian treasure...an artist is true when a performance isn't about them - it's about sharing their gift with others. This what Canadian singers bring to the table every single day. Canada has dozens of artists of this caliber. American singers could learn a great deal from Canadian singers.
Bingo!
I was fort to see her in a small venue in Melbourne Australia around 2011. It was magical and we all just sat enthralled by her superb voice! What a joy to our ears she was at that show!!!
Superb! It's great that Roy lived to see KD perform his classic song and then record it again with her.
First time I saw KD Lang was in Calgary Alberta Canada - 200 people were there- what a voice indeed. Canada is very proud of KD. Check out her version of hallelujah at the Vancouver Olympics!
KD Lang is well known in the UK and with ex pats too. Thank you for this recognition
Her voice, her phrasing, her presence...it's just effortless.
Wow what a voice ❤ amazingly powerful
