This was one of my favorite games as a teenager. I think it came with an issue of Strategy & Tactics Magazine, which I was subscribed to, so I got a game every month. I could be wrong about that, but one way or another I ended up with this fantastic game. This video brought back pleasant memories. Thanks.
Do I envy you that you got to play this as a kid! Yes, you are right, from what people tell me, in that it was a magazine game. I am starting to make some better counters and map for this game, so I can bring it to a local gaming convention, and share it with others. Thank you for posting!
@@Nangwaya S&T magazine was a treasure, especially for a teenager interested in history and games like this. Every month was like Christmas, and even the articles were fantastic. Those were good times. - I hope that you get to enjoy many campaigns of this game.
Hey! I know a few people around here, have recommended it. The Decision Games one, was a one of them that I first purchased, as it was affordable and at the time, shipping from them to my house, was not prohibitively expensive. You can always take a look at my copy, next time you are around.
Well done, and thanks, do you feel this version is better than the newer Deluxe version? Getting ready to play Downfall of Empires, looks fairly simple and fun.
Downfall of Empires. I am not sure I have heard of it, so thanks for mentioning it. I do not know if it is better than the Deluxe version, but I have read posts on here, that suggested I go and play it. I have it upstairs, and perhaps it would be a good way to see if it is a better game. That being said, the old version is very easy to wrap my head around - it certainly gave me the Great War vybe - and darn fun to play!
@@Nangwaya Yep, I played the crap out of the SPI version when it came out, easy and fast. I just picked up a copy Downfall Empires last week. it's quite inserting, it's worth looking at, very hard to find, lucked out and found one for $35.00
Good Tuesday evening.👍
