Thanks for the video. Counters look great with the SPI icons. if you wanted color without using ink, you could try printing on colored paper to give a background color. The play looks good and a story looks to be developing.
Thanks a lot! I ended up popping on little plastic beads on the coloured hexagons, anf the counters are really easy to distinguish which side they are on, from a good distance, so this should help when doing future video updates. Yes, I am liking the narrative coming out of this, too!

Chantilly is 352 yards per hex. I can't remember what scale Soldiers was? Is it close enough, or do you need to scale ranges?
Soldiers is 100 metres per hex, so that comes out to one Chantilly hex equaling about 3.2 Soldiers hexes. I did reduce the Artillery range from 25 to 15, including the river boat, similar to how the fog affected artillery range in the scenario that I have been playing. I might need to scale it back a bit more. I still think Soldiers can easily be used for doing conflicts in Africa.
Seasonal changing of river depth ... what a cool consideration for a ww1 tactical game !

Is 'Soldiers' you are referring to a published game with rules and components, or are you recreating a game using different pieces from a variety of games?
The Soldiers game is a published game, and all I will bedoing is adding a terrain feature to the rules, that is really about it.
