Hahaha Glad you're enjoying over here and thank you for the warm words Max. I hope to be releasing more of this series very soon (still part of my editing equipment is out of service). Cheers!
The soundboard is from the 20th of august 1988 and the actual footage and audio recording chosen for the release was from the 19th of august (I believe it was from the 19th). You can see the difference in the long solo of which major parts were always being improvised by David Gilmour and thus unique with every performance. As far as I know only an audience recording has been circulating from the 19th.
Well, 1989 release is very different from the latest 2019. This latest, in my opinion and experience after have had yet disassembled second by second several of it's songs and with others still in progress, in that they made a sort of "collage" for the mix with footages from several nights for much of the songs. I think that one of the reasons must have been the technical issues they had those nights, specially with David and Rachel's mics (even you can see in this video with the remastering I've made how David reacts when in the beginning of the lyrics his mics sounds very low and in background and then he looked to his technician to his right side like asking "wtf?", one thing that with the offical soundtrack pass anawared). Off the way, there's also a reason for that rumor that they used the 19th audio and was the fact that for that day wasn't never a soundboard source circulating. Another interesting point is the hard postprocessing this official soundtrack has, in my opinion that is to smoothing that mix I've mentioned before, since the sound balance of each nigh was pretty different. Anyway, all this is an interesting topic, that was my main point on dive on these. Cheers and thanks for the comment!
@@TheForce_Productions If you listen to the audience bootleg from the 19th it is evident that it's actually the one used in the official release. No rumors needed for or against that. It is preety much what it is except that the solo is a little shorter for a couple of bars. Nothing dramatic. In the beginning David's vocals are a little low but, this is a mix issue not a technical issue imo. And again, it's a different night. :-) Listen to the long solos carefully, you'll hear the obvious differences in the improvised parts.
Yeah, me not just listen the solos since i'm a guitarist as well. And as I said before, that's just my opinion. Even watching closely the official release with it's audio/video is easy to spot diferences in between what is sounding and what is in fact David playing is several parts along the movie, not only in this song. Was knew that several things were even re-recorded in studio after and was also widely knew that they had issues in the original nights, an example of that is the first part of The Great Gig In The Sky, where Rachel's voice couldn't be recorded and that's why for the releases they used the first segment of the Versailles gig. But that is that, all are opinions. Thanks anyway for the interest.
@@TheForce_Productions I just listened to the bootleg from the 19th, I haven’t heard it in quite some time and I must admit that it‘s not exactly what is on the official release. I take back my claim 😄. I haven’t noticed it before probably because I heard a bad audience recording. It’s interesting what you that they did a collage. It‘s sounds now a bit like it. I know they did it on Pulse for some songs but I never assumed they did on DSOT. I‘m a guitar player too 😃. It is a very interesting topic for sure! I have been listening to PF for thirty years. Cheers!
You know? Just before I've start diving into these DSOT experiments, I thought exaclty as you said in the beginning, but just starting to dis-assembling the songs (second by second literally) and analizing details trying to "match the puzzle" I've started to spot a lot of weird things, things that not match there and also not even match with the tempo of the songs... Is very large to write over here cause I've been hours and hours turning around it. And yeah, it's a interesting and wonderful matter so far. Cheers mate guitarist!
Obi: thanks so much for this. After a day in NZ swirling around Delta and vaccine competitions (!!) the lyrics is just so prophetic. What are we doing to ourselves?? Grew up on pink Floyd - this never fails to still emotion and your version is no exception - wonderful
Extremely happy you've like this one Dave, and yes, this song is really strong, lyrics and music (specially guitar) are a massive hit to the senses. More of this "Nassau Extended Unreleased" is coming very soon, I'm cooking the final details. Thank you very much for the comment and support, stay safe!
The fact that last solo has little or almost nothing to do with the one from release i grew up on, is just mind-boggling, and I’m not talking just about the guitar. Even funnier thing is that I almost like this one better. Might be just because it’s something new…
David beyond being one of the best guitarists ever has and incredible power at improvising. You would not believe the things he did along the tour shows, where each solo is but absolutely amazing, and most of the times live renditions are way better that the commercial releases. That said, it's not new what you feel about this one. Cheers and thanks for stopping by. PS: If you liked this one I recommend you to check this newest improved version I published more recently: ruclips.net/video/G3C4FK6OseM/видео.html
I had no idea that the "original" live recordings had been, altered/tampered/augmented etc. As a casual to moderately interested fan of Floyd since my 1st Dark Side LP as a kid, I really appreciate this. Thanks so much for your hard work and attention to detail.
Glad you're enjoying the channel and thank you for your kind words. Regarding the live recordings, every live work has arrangements/improvements being Floyd or any other, I don't think any band publish a live show in real raw conditions, you need to always need to make certain adjustments. In the case of DSOT 2019 reissue, the changes in the sound are pretty evident, even was known prior to it's release back then that there was even channels and instruments re-recorded. In my experience (since I don't consider myself a "regular listener" anymore, since I normally disassembly all the tracks to make my own remixes which let me access details that otherwise I couldn't), and I can think that they made collages from different shows to produce the official ginal releases, obviously it's just my opinion and could be wrong, but I think that's the case. And that's not a critic at all, I think that's a way to bring the public the better possible experience. Cheers and happy week.
Which is why Pulse videos sound different from Pulse album audios. I always wondered why the guitar solos varied so much. It's just that they all strived for perfection in every thing. This band is just too awesome 😎

Glad you've liked it! Sure, Turning is in the oven, but take time to achieve good results; still can't believe that only took me two weeks to finish this... Cheers!
Thank you so much for this. Much obliged. My god this is very topical today with COVID-19, Nature is very angry and the environment is screaming for help.
Now i don't remember ever hearing all those vocalizes while they performing Sorrow in any of the 6+ shows of the MLOR 88-89 tour legs I attended but I can say that in any case in this new listening to the song (these vocalizes) are quite a lot appropriate in the context of the lyrics, really. Well done Obi Wan ! Superb remastering job too ⇑⇑⇑ ;-)
Thank you very much! And you right, these vocal arrangements are pritty particular, since they were performed a lot by the backing girls all over these Nassau shows, but right after they delete almost everything for the post-production, only leaving just a few, I think because some of them were in the video takes; and maybe because I've noticed that they were having problems with the mics, specially Rachel's. If you liked this, more is coming soon... Cheers and thank you once again.
@@TheForce_Productions ...about Rachel's mic problems... yes, you're right, in a SBD rec I picked @Yeesh*** a while ago you can clearly hear that Rachel's mic line had big problems as her voicing level was almost null... what you can hear of her singing was just picked by ambience mics and/or Margy's and Durga's ones; I think it was more a problem of mic return line to the mixing board than of a mic failure 'di per se'. Have a good day ! ps: I'm looking forward to watch at/listen to other wonderful works of yours. ;-)
Thank you very much for the kind words. If you haven't yet I recommend you to check the newer and improved version from this one I published recently in the channel. Cheers! ruclips.net/video/G3C4FK6OseM/видео.html
I'm in a pleasant shock. I've heard many versions of this concert, and each has a completely different sound. How do you do that!? you are very cool, thanks!
Glad you like it! Well, I guess this "unreleased version" and the other two I've published until now must be the closest you can hear regarding the original live performances back in 1988, into the dry sound (even though with some technical problems in this one) and without those post-processings used for the official releases, specially 2019 version. How? I take much time to try improvements and experiment, trial an error. Thank you for the comment!
Well, I see Sorrow as an energetic way to front sadness, I think it's one of the darkest songs I've ever knew, but at the same time it has that guitar that's like a punch in your brain, and even more in 1994 tour. Hope you've enjoyed this one, cheers!
Hello there! Subs aren't build-in into the video, just disable them from RUclips settings or pressing the button [CC] on screen whenever you want to hide them. Cheers!
Obi Wan, I came across a song of PF where the backing vocals sang OOOH-WAAH, but I can't find it anymore here on U-tube. Which song is that?? I'm listening to avery performance...Do you know which song that is? Thank you...
Saludos Felipe!
Thanks Obi for this great video 😍 but I’m too curious to watch the other performed songs in DSOT like comfortably numb! Is there any unreleased version for “Comfortably Numb”?
Happy you've liked this one. Yes, i'm working on several things, including C. Numb, but all of this takes me a lot of time, but time to time you'll see it over here nextly. Thanks for the comment!
I've adapted and edited these videos using the same gig where the movie itself took place. There'll be more nextly, as soon as I recover part of editing equipment which is out of service right now. Cheers!
"Officially" they shoot one night, but based on certain details, I would tell you that they filmed all the shows and later used takes from all, depending on the songs and it's parts; and it's pritty obvious I think, if you gonna make a movie and wanna make sure to do it right, you'll assure to get all the possible footage in case of need them, cause you'll need it. Cheers!
I think to remember the same, but right now i have not the data of the exact equipment they used. I'll make some research and I'll try to add it in the description later.
Maybe it's just my sound setup but when David starts singing at 3:09 it sounds really muffled and all during this version of the song his voice just does not sound as powerful as it is in other videos. The percussion always seems to be the focus. I love Obi Wan Kenobis work but not a fan of this one.
Hello there. There was a couple a factors of incidence here; one is that you mentioned about David's voice channel, which is due to the original sorround environment the band used for the live performance, where his voice was sent mostly to the surround channels which were lost in my 2.0 soundboard copy of the show. Second, this was quit time ago when I just started this project series and I had a very old limited computer incapable to perform certain things today granted and neither wanted to modify as much the original track. That said, if it took place today I'd easily make the proper corrections to David voice, who knows, maybe for the 5.1 version, will see. Cheers!
Well, completely I don't think so but anyway all the releases have cuts and editions over, but the last 2019/2020 was the most modified by far. It has in some cases re-recorded drums, guitars, keyboards, backing vocals and even David voice that in some cases wes re-recorded or maybe used their own records from some other shows. If you check my "unreleased" versions and right after the officials you'll immediately spot a lot of that things. More is coming, all is in the workshop right now. Cheers!
Why are the vocals so low? There is also very little bass. The rest of the music sounds excellent. I want to love it, but these 2 flaws just make it too hard for me to enjoy one of my favorite PF songs. For me, the sound is just way better on the Pulse DVD, even though it’s only Dolby Digital.
First things first; what have to do Pulse (being Dolby Digital or not) to this? This is not an official release (nor video nor audio). I based my remaster/edition in an audio that came directly from their soundboard, but this master is a STEREO capture from their SURROUND layout back then in those shows; the vocals and other instruments were sent through the missing channels in this capture, that's why you notice those details. Anyway, I'm already working on it's revisited version which will be also in 5.1 surround as my latest publishings, and then those details you pointed out should be solved along other improvements.
@@TheForce_Productions no worries. I was just curious why it sounded so different than what I was expecting. I only mentioned DD because old-school compressed DD is pretty subpar quality compared to compressed DTS or lossless formats. I wasn't referring to 5.1 vs stereo. I get that this is not an official release. I was asking about the technical limitations for the differences, which you've kindly explained. I appreciate it. FWIW, 2 channel vs 5.1 doesn't matter that much for me in a concert. I'm far more concerned with full range (20Hz-20kHz) balanced (meaning levels of various instruments) audio, audible/clear vocals and decent bass (if it's to be expected from the source material).
No problem. Back then when I did this remaster I had an very old and limitated PC that didn't let me so much margin to add such improvements as I'd wanted but now with new hardware I'm revisiting some of that footages that deserves an upgrade, just like this song that btw I also love. Regarding 5.1 you right, for music is kind of relative but anyway I find it as an added flavor the detail to placing certain instruments/sounds in different spaces (just like they used to in their shows), and I assure you that that makes a great difference in the final result mix, it's really something huge that you can only notice when experimenting with it. Anyway, hope you enjoy the revisited version when I release it, as I said before i'm working with it right now. Cheers.
Hey I noticed the Comfortably Numb ending solo is also longer than any of both released versions, each one has it's own stuff... Are you gonna do that one too?
All those details are exactly my point on doing this, just give some time and you'll got it over here. The force is strong in me but my PC is yet in the dark side of the technology... Lol! Cheers!
Hola!
The name it's just a commercial frame and nothing else. If you enjoyed this one, I recommend you this newest revisited version, where I improved several details. Happy Sunday. ruclips.net/video/G3C4FK6OseM/видео.html

Thank you so much for this. Much obliged. My god this is very topical today with COVID-19, Nature is very angry and the environment is screaming for help.
One guitar to rule them all.
Have a good day ! ps: I'm looking forward to watch at/listen to other wonderful works of yours. ;-)
Fabulous and fantastic, thanks, good time for you

A disfrutar!
thanks, your videos are the only that makes my soundbar performs properly and fabulously....very good
Very pleased to know that! Thank you for let me know it and for the comment!
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...
✌😂
Tks very much my Friend
So pleased you liked it, thank you for the visit!
Temazo ❤🎸☮️✌🏻🏴☠️
Fantastic,beautiful ,,
Obi Wan, isn't it curious that "Sorrow" can bring so much joy?
Well, I see Sorrow as an energetic way to front sadness, I think it's one of the darkest songs I've ever knew, but at the same time it has that guitar that's like a punch in your brain, and even more in 1994 tour. Hope you've enjoyed this one, cheers!
@@TheForce_Productions Much appreciated, as always. Till the next expo.
Awesome job sounds better thanks 🙏
Happy you enjoyed this one, thank you for the comment!
Thx for another great song. Can you do 1 without sub titles? I know all the words by heart.
Hello there! Subs aren't build-in into the video, just disable them from RUclips settings or pressing the button [CC] on screen whenever you want to hide them. Cheers!
Wow!!!!! Awesome!!!! 🤘🤘
Muito bom, agradeço o seu trabalho!!!
Muito obrigado pelo comentario!
Excelente. Gracias!
When Jon Carin was still a nice guy
And are u going to do the dark side of the moon tour soon
Who is the band behind Rachel Fury?
.. it's a support group for the female vocals.
Obi Wan, I came across a song of PF where the backing vocals sang OOOH-WAAH, but I can't find it anymore here on U-tube. Which song is that?? I'm listening to avery performance...Do you know which song that is? Thank you...
I guess you mean "woo-whoo"; check the song Money, but that particular arrangement was only featured in live versions from 1988/9.
Thank you Obi Wan, but I found the song "Mother" The Wall from 1980. The backvocals are singing Ooh-Waah. PF members were still young then
Indeed, that song is from 1979.
A lot of people here just to see rachel fury at full HD quality
Me facinan las coristas 😯
Otra de las maravillas de Pink Floyd! Saludos!
@@TheForce_Productions así es saludos totales buena noche
Buena noche y saludos!
Saludos Felipe!
Do u have the pulse concert as well
Hello, yes. You can find it here in the channel. Cheers!
@@TheForce_Productions Wow that’s great 🤩 Can’t wait to watch your masterpiece upcoming videos 🤩🙏🏻

Fucking Master piece

I got the new album the amlofr by itself and with the dvd and blueray can u do the videos too
I've adapted and edited these videos using the same gig where the movie itself took place. There'll be more nextly, as soon as I recover part of editing equipment which is out of service right now. Cheers!
Did they film another night at this venue?
The movie itself was made all through the five night of this venue, using takes from all of them. Cheers!
@@TheForce_Productions I didn't know that they filmed multiple nights at this venue.
Not that I am complaining.
@@TheForce_Productions If I remember correctly the audio was recorded digitally. Do you know what gear they used?
Cheers!
Was the release of DSOT really completely studio re recording?
Well, completely I don't think so but anyway all the releases have cuts and editions over, but the last 2019/2020 was the most modified by far. It has in some cases re-recorded drums, guitars, keyboards, backing vocals and even David voice that in some cases wes re-recorded or maybe used their own records from some other shows. If you check my "unreleased" versions and right after the officials you'll immediately spot a lot of that things. More is coming, all is in the workshop right now. Cheers!
@@TheForce_Productions Last DSOT edition has horrible sound. They even removed Gary Wallis percussion on One of these days, for instance.
Yes I agree and I know, even here in Sorrow you can spot that. Anyway more is coming soon.
Lol! Cheers!
As far as I could see, only "Little David" was on here. So calling it "Pink Floyd" seems not quite right. Beautiful music, though.
The name it's just a commercial frame and nothing else. If you enjoyed this one, I recommend you this newest revisited version, where I improved several details. Happy Sunday.
