that was not turned all the way up I use a Marshall 4x12 cab and I turn it all the way up I have both the MeteOR & ZoMBie Question Gibson now owns Mesa Boogie can they go after JOYO for cloning a Mesa Boogie ???
I just ditched my Mesa 2:90 with either triaxis or Rectifer rackmout preamp with a marshall 4x12 to use a Joyo Zombie with a home made 2x12 for touring. The sound is just as good, just as big, and it's kind of an opposite "wow" factor. Used to be "wow, you have a sweet mesa/marshall setup" now it's "Wow, you get THAT sound out of that little thing?" It's a tiny Rectifier lunchbox, but it carries a big fuckin sandwich.
I have four of them. The metOR, JaCKMan, BlueJay and AtomiC. They match up great with the Stage Right 1X12 vintage 30 open back cab. All take pedals great. Put delay and reverb in the loop and put the the Nobels ODR mini and a Joyo Taichi to make the sing. I have two favorites, the BlueJay and metOR. All are great.
Best all-around for me was the Jackman. For dirty tones alone, I liked the "Orange." I think good boost, or even a compressor with a good hit of volume dialed in, would wake up some of those lower gain models. I feel like those type of amps need a little bit of speaker break-up to really get going sometimes. But hey, for the price, they all sound really good!
Thanks for the reviews. These times will allow people to hear your description of the amp names. Gives us a bit more insight on what to expect from each model. zoMBie 1:46 VIVO 3:50 MeteOR 6:50 JaCkMan 9:18 AtomiC 12:38 BlueJay 14:46
I used my Atomic in a live band setting at a place called The Blind Tiger this past weekend. I disconnected the speaker from my big amp and pushed it with the Atomic. You can see and hear it over on the videos page on my youtube channel.
That's hilarious...I thought the amps were further away and bigger until he reached over and I realized they're much smaller than I thought lol. Talk about spacial illusion.
Spacial illussion is making the amps look small when he reach out his hand but they aren’t.. one thing to acknowledge is the number of knobs on those amps and the guitars close to them.. if they really are that size then those guitars will be for midgets
That was so good, I watched it twice. I think I like the Zombie and Jackmam best. As a side note, your bass tone was really good! Were you using an amp or going direct? And second, the Phil X Framus is like your YJM strat, you seem very at home on it and seem to play more effortlessly. I️ wonder how the Joyo Bantamps would do in a shootout with a hybrid like the Orange Micro Terror. They are in the same price range and wattage.
Thank you kd! The bass was actually recorded directly into my Focusrite 18i20 audio interface. The reason why it sounds so good is because of 2 reasons. First is - the bass has an onboard pre-amp, so it's not so dependent on what it's plugged into. Second is ... the Focusrite has some of the best recording pre-amps in recording interfaces - so together, it's an easy setup. The only thing I did in post was added a compressor to the bass - so you can her it more consistently. I'm not a bass player - but I think a compressor for bass is pretty common. Hope that answers your question :-). And, thank you for the compliments on the guitar. YES - it is super comfortable. Something about it and the strat. You are right! Thanks again. Enjoy your day!
Hi TK. Really liked the Blue Jay. It gives you a good baseline for a high gain sound for those legato licks with a pedal or 3 in front of it. The Vivo really surprised me (in a postive way) which is unusual as I'm not a huge high gain user. Great vid from a decent guy. P.S. Someone in the comments section mentioned a Boss Katana. I agree entirely. They're awesome value and great tones for sure.
Since I already have an Orange, I'd choose the Jackman. It's got greater versatility in tone (IMO). I probably wouldn't buy the VIVO or Zombie since I don't usually play high-gain. I don't think you could go wrong in any of these amps as long as it fits the music you play.
I think that if more people were blindfolded and asked to pick amps they would pick Orange far more than they would ever admit to. That chunk and fuzz is just a little added something with a high gain amp. And most times you can get plenty of scream out of them using the tone knob. Not JCM scream but pretty damn close. Id like all of them but Im planning on replacing my Micro Dark with a Meteor. Im tired of missing a clean channel.
Thanks for the demo. Im been eyeing these little guys for a while now. I dont need a new amp but i do want to try one of these out for myself. I own a Roland JC40, and an Egnater Tweaker 40 Combo, so i already have a good base of amp tones. The JC40 is one of the cleanest sounding amps out there and a fantastic solid state amp, and the Tweaker has a switchable tone stack that makes it sound more like either a fender style, vox style, or marshal style amp, but i would love to try the Zombie for a high gain option. I do love the Atomic and BlueJay tho, and i most play clean so those amps i really want to hear in person
I have the Blue Jay , Jackman , VIVO and the Zombie . The Blue Jay and the Jackman are wicked pedal platforms .The VIVO and the Zombie are killer as is . My take anyway .. Thanks for the vid TK..
I just ordered a JoYo VIVO!!! The tone king helped me make my choice thank you sir. I'm gonna gig with it. I'm use my I'd be for cleans lol Nd VIVO for OD
Greetings to TTK!... nice review with drums and bass!... mine is the AC-styled... what's yours? You forgot to mention!... cheers and keep on rocking (with rock and roll, hootchie koo by the great rick derringer, fine choice, TTK!!!)!
I love it ! Guitcon is over and all my favorite RUclipsrs are all playing Framus guitars in their latest videos ! What kind of discount did you all get? Framus came out a winner for all the free advertising and sales. Damn, now I want one too!
Yep, basically pick one of them depending on what guitar you have. I play on a Jaguar so I'm going with the Meteor as it has more low-end, my Jaguar can get way too bright. Anyone with humbuckers should get the VIVO.
I love them all and feel they nail their respective amps character. Little Rock & Roll Hootchie Koo never hurts :) When are you going to run through the mig-50?
Put a Behringer VT999 or other tube pedal in the FX loop of the BlueJay, and throw an OG Tube Screamer OD pedal in front, or one of the clones, like the Joyo one or a Behringer TO800, or else just use the guitar amp sims from a Zoom or NuX multiFX pedal between the guitar and the input, with the gain at 11 or 12 o'clock in either case. Would probably sound pretty awesome, js.
I liked the meteOR and the VIVO the best. Both more my style with the higher gain. I know these are lunchbox type amps but a footswitch would make these amps much better in my opinion.
Great video,I have the vivo n absolutely love it,overdrive channel is awesome n clean channel isn't bad either.great value for price,n has fx loop as well.cant think of anything bad to say about this hybrid amp
I have the jackman and meteor. Both fucking excellent amps, blows my mind. I run them through the speaker (eminence red fang 1x12) of my open back traynor ygm3
I have the Zombie and love the tone. I run a Behringer OD in front to push it a little more and it sounds great through my 4X12 cabinet. I run it DI for recording and use GR 5 for cabinet emulation. Really nice amp.
I like the AC one the most, it has a nice clean and nice overdrive, i think i will get one myself someday. And man you should play some more clean stuff, when you'll come back to the high gain, you will hear a big improvement in your technique.
By the time you buy your two favorites, you could have bought the Boss Katana 100 head which comes with a small built in speaker, has wattage attenuation and loud enough to gig with with a cab. The Joyo amps seem really nice but right now, there is a boat load of competition.
kdrake777 they don't really compare. I get the appeal of the Katana but personally I take a small head with a better sound and even for a cheaper price for the living room over the more feature packed Katana. Like I said, I get the appeal of the Boss, but I need zero of the features it has. Different amps for different purposes.
If these were out before I got my HT-5, I'd totally consider one. Even as an extra amp for an extra space, seems cool. They are a bit late to the party...and the power cord setup that looks like a laptop leads me to infer (could be wrong) that the tubes are not running at 300+V...which means not true tube tone.
I have the ZoMBie & their 8" BanTCaB, bought for about AU $330 in June 2019. Am off right now to purchase the MeteOR on $ale for AU $199. Then I want the "LIL", or VIV0 (I nickname it the LIL because L is 50 in Roman Numerals. LI/51 & L/50! 😂). Eventually I'll likely get the JaCkMan MkII, & want to upgrade my ZoMBie to the MkII version with the Channel Select Footswitch and 2nd set of Dials. All for my home studio, of course!! 😅😅😅😂 🤘 If you could only have the 1, my bet is that you would choose the VIV0, right? 🙂
Hey DMS - Thank you. Yeah - good question. I do know there is a tube, but I'm not sure of it's purpose (to be honest). In reading the comments myself - looks like Joaquin answered a hybrid. I do know the amp wasn't happy going into a sweet 8x8 amp switcher I was planning on using - so I'm not sure if that says anything about it?
Ok, sounds about right, single valve pre, (like a valve OD pedal) not sure if it runs high voltage or low voltage, plate starvation mode. As to the switcher it may not have liked the load impedance it was giving. Check with Joyo about using in in a multi speaker switching system. I guess not all amps like them, (however it shouldn't really matter.)
good comparison but what I'd like to see is a comparison to the amps these are supposed to be modeling. There is a 5150 and Marshall head right behind you (don't know if it's a JCM). Let's see how accurate they really are.
This is really difficult, (I suppose if it weren't, everyone would come up with the same, obvious answer, eh?) because one would like to be able to get at least a small variety of good tones. I'd have to say though, that here, at least, the BlueJay seems a little weak on the clean tones because of the distortion coming in, or a little weak on the distortion in general. The Atomic, and then the Jackman, seem to be getting there, but just not quite, and are struggling a bit. The Zombie to me seems a little too "one trick pony." So I guess that narrows it down for me to the VIVO and the Meteor, and because I'd like to get some reasonably decent cleans, I lean toward the Meteor. At least, at this point in time.
Watch out Billy Sheehan-TTK kills on bass! And using the thumb on the G, an old bass player trick. Ethr my ears are cooked or the meds hvn't kicked in yet but I don't hear a huge difference btwn any of these. In the amounts of gain, yes, there is a difference but not in tone itself. Would I buy one? Maybe-but I guess it dsn't matter which if they all sound similar to me. And using a pedal, the difference is likely even less.
Hello there, I see reviews of those joyo bantamp amps but all reviews are demonstrating using other cab, much larger cabs. Have someone tried the joyo bantcab, eight inches speakers? Is it a good cab?
i like that jackman pretty good and i am very interested in these amps i would like to know which one takes pedals best i like to use a high gain distortion pedal but i also like a really clean sound with some chorus and delay
I might disappoint you, but "none of them". I fully understand why this amps do exist and they don't sound bad, but personally, I know myself too well... if I'd buy one, I'd end up buying 6. Then if I look into the price... for the price of 6, I'd already be over 60 or 70% of a Dual-Klonz which is more about something I'd want. So I'd prefer to save a little bit more and then just go with the full Dual-Klonz and have all options to recreate all amp circuitries, including the ones that were used as inspiration for those little BentAmp... PS: I know, it's not really comparable :)
+Phil Smith not disappointed at all. I think this type of amp is a 'pick your favorite'. Not sure anyone would want to own all 6. That investment defeats the purpose of an affordably priced amp :-)
Fully agree, but as said, I know myself too well, I'm a gear whore... so after "picking one"... as soon as it will arrived, I will start to think: "well... let's just add one... just one more"... and then, rince and repeat. That's why I prefer to not even start on this very slippery slop... :)
I haven't bought one yet. So haven't played through one of them. But I would probably buy the Zombie, since I gravitate toward metals, but the Vivo has piqued my interest too. So I am torn...
TK, what's the origin of that opening rhythm you play on this clip? It reminds me of something inspired by Rick Derringer's "I Play Guitar" from the Good Dirty Fun album of 1983. Did I guess right?
There are quite a few heads on the used market that sound better, have more power and channels and cost the same. The Peavey XXL and Marshall Valvestate VS100 come to mind.
You're comparing 100W amps to these? And even used ones cost more. Most venues will mic amps anyway, so 15-20W is plenty for small venues and will feed the PA at larger ones.
im curious to see how the blue jay would handle pedals since everyone knows how those fender amps like the blues junior and hot rod deluxe take pedals so well, im sure shane will shoot that out at some point
Can anyone that has one tell me if it is ok to run one of these into a di box with cab sim to go to a desk? And it is ok to use with earphones in but no speaker? Thank you.
meteor and the normal channel of the blue jay.. they seemed like they pushed air. the v1v0 and zombie were blah. the atomic was disappointing and didn't hear that ac sound
This is the Live Webcast where I unboxed this guitar. Check it ... ruclips.net/video/2eDenKJaaMc/видео.html

the jackman or the atomic for me are a good base to add a pedal chain to thanks for the review i may have to grab one of them.
I ordered the Meteor yesterday, after this (nice!) video I still stand by my choice... 👍🏻
Thanks for the reviews.
These times will allow people to hear your description of the amp names. Gives us a bit more insight on what to expect from each model.

congrats...best bantamp comparisson on youtube, thanks
I like MeteOR (Orange) & AtomiC (Vox).
I used my Atomic in a live band setting at a place called The Blind

pushed it with the Atomic. You can see and hear it over on the videos

Which songs?
@@stickman33 all of them
I got the Meteor and it rocks, I change the stock tube to a better quality one and the tone got even better after that
What tube have you took for a change?
Appreciate your review on these. Tough finding just straight forward reviews.
I like the Jackman and the Atomic best I think. Although I agree that a pedal wouldn't go amiss with the Atomic. Damn impressive sounding though.
I have the Zombie and it's awesome for what it is. I'd also like to have the Jackmam. I assume you like the 5150 style better. Keep rockin!
G'day TK, I'm lovin the extra effort you are putting in by including the drums and bass. Cheers
Thanks KMD! Appreciate it. I'm trying, so I'm always thankful for those who take notice!
Rock on cobber!
I believe they have an fx loop.....would be cool to hear a 5150 pedal thru the Vivo💯
They're so small and affordable you could buy two of your favourites and setup a stereo rig
🤔😱🤯🤗
Awesome review TTK! I like the VIVO, it's got the squeals Edit: and a nice clean tone
i immediately liked the second one. when you said it was based on the 5150 it made perfect sense
melhor vídeo de comparação que vi até agora, the best
That's hilarious...I thought the amps were further away and bigger until he reached over and I realized they're much smaller than I thought lol. Talk about spacial illusion.
zigzagbigbag yeah that spun me out too, they're the size of his hand
zigzagbigbag These amps can get to 110 decibels at max volume, according to Glenn Fricker.
Spacial illussion is making the amps look small when he reach out his hand but they aren’t.. one thing to acknowledge is the number of knobs on those amps and the guitars close to them.. if they really are that size then those guitars will be for midgets
By far, the JCM styled one is the one for me. The 5150 is a close second

The intro music is happy’s happy place music when shooter takes it over lol. Happy Gilmore
Great review ttk. It's the only one I've seen demoing all the amps together. Finally, we can see them All at once. Rock on!
I like how the color light reflects on the guitar. And also a very informative demo.
VIVO and meteOR are the gainy amps so I'd take them! Cheers!
I think these are my 2 favs as well.
Yep, basically pick one of them depending on what guitar you have. I play on a Jaguar so I'm going with the Meteor as it has more low-end, my Jaguar can get way too bright. Anyone with humbuckers should get the VIVO.
I've been indecisive over choosing which one of these to buy however thanks to your reaction to the meteOR, i've decided on that one. Thanks!
I love them all and feel they nail their respective amps character. Little Rock & Roll Hootchie Koo never hurts :)
When are you going to run through the mig-50?
Put a Behringer VT999 or other tube pedal in the FX loop of the BlueJay, and throw an OG Tube Screamer OD pedal in front, or one of the clones, like the Joyo one or a Behringer TO800, or else just use the guitar amp sims from a Zoom or NuX multiFX pedal between the guitar and the input, with the gain at 11 or 12 o'clock in either case. Would probably sound pretty awesome, js.
I did like the Orange Style Amp, would probably go the 5150 Style Amp, excellent review, thank you Tone King.
To my untrained ear they all sounded very much the same until the blue jay. But I prefer blues to overdrive.
Yep same here. All similar. Good cleans to lot;s of distortion. The BJr. had a blues Jr quality albeit I thought like a weak Blues Jr. Fun vid though.
I Wonder if it's the speaker? V30? certain amps just all sound the same through certain speakers
I like the AC one the most, it has a nice clean and nice overdrive, i think i will get one myself someday. And man you should play some more clean stuff, when you'll come back to the high gain, you will hear a big improvement in your technique.
that is one slick and wickedly sculpted and finished guitar. Nice!
yeah - love the axe!
Behemothokun You’re probably right.
Mal Reynolds Didn’t know, thx for the info. I️ really have no interest in getting a Katana but a lot of people do.
If these were out before I got my HT-5, I'd totally consider one. Even as an extra amp for an extra space, seems cool.
They are a bit late to the party...and the power cord setup that looks like a laptop leads me to infer (could be wrong) that the tubes are not running at 300+V...which means not true tube tone.
those Boss Katana's are shit amps.
Nice review. Love the bass and drums so we can hear what they sound like with a band.
If you could only have the 1, my bet is that you would choose the VIV0, right? 🙂
A nice, clear video demonstrating the entire line. I love this
Yep, Leaning towards the Meteor
Very nice TK. Are these SS or valve powered/hybrid?
You forgot the clean ch for the green 1! You MISSED that famous Vox clean jangle & chime!
DMSProduktions Hybrid, JFET plus one 12AX7 tube in the pre amp, SS class D power amp...20W RMS
Meteor for me, then Jackman, but usually I prefer marshalls to oranges :-)
zoMBie and the VIVO for me please :). Nice to hear it with a backingtrack, thank you for the video
Thank you!
Zombie Bro. Thanks Louis.
Coolio! Thanks MHH.
Great video and very informative.... I wonder if Joyo will make a VIVO 2..?
good comparison but what I'd like to see is a comparison to the amps these are supposed to be modeling.
I really enjoyed your demo's. My favorite is the vivo l ,also, believe it is your favorite.
YES! \m/ Thank you for watching!
Watch out Billy Sheehan-TTK kills on bass! And using the thumb on the G, an old bass player trick. I'm kinda diggin the voxy one for the context you were playing in. Hey has the Toneking ever tried a Fender Tonemaster? If you haven't, you should.
I like the one that sounds like an Orange. This video had to be a ton of work. Excellent job TK.
I’m with MetalHead Hippie, I think the Zombie was the way l’d go. Thanks for the great video TK!
Interesting so many folks picked the Zombie. Goes to show you how unique our tastes are. Glad you liked the video. \m/
The 🍊🧡 inspired Meteor sounds great!!!
I liked the JaCman, then the VIVO, and the MeteOr. Amen!!!
For me it's between the JCM and the AC.
The Jackman for me it sounds like Clapton tone
Ja już wybrałem i kupiłem. Bluejay!
Jackman but I'm biased since that's the one I bought.
Joyous sound great, and your riffs sound very 70's in a good way. 🤘🏻
Awesome video man!!!
Thanks buddy!
The Tone King Which one had the best clean tone in your opinion? I'm looking for something that breaks a tiny bit.
I've got a couple of joyo pedals and I Love them and I am dieing to get my hands on one
VIVO for me
I need to play around with these, but so far I think I like the OR
Cool demo TK. Do you think an EQ pedal would help thicken the sound without adding a lot of gain.
mmm, perhaps. Maybe a nice EQ in the loop?
My favorite three are:
1. ZoMbie
2. VIVO
3. MeteOR
Well, they do look cute all lined up next to each other, so just for the looks, you'd need them all ;-)
FIRE..........BRAND!!!!!!!
all are great! to my taste, Jackman sounds more versatile.
Yes, that’s definitely an attempt at some “Rock ‘N Roll Hoochie Koo”
There are quite a few heads on the used market that sound better, have more power and channels and cost the same. The Peavey XXL and Marshall Valvestate VS100 come to mind.
You're comparing 100W amps to these? And even used ones cost more. Most venues will mic amps anyway, so 15-20W is plenty for small venues and will feed the PA at larger ones.
For me its a tossup between the zombie and the meteor
When you did the review of the Atomic you didnt really do a clean sample like the others, would have liked the same test for that.
Got short changed on the amp he didn't like
Which one is louder?
Toss up between Jackman and Zombie for me.
TK, maybe i missed it after watching the whole vid. Did you ever say which one you like the best ?
The vivo and I still watching....
me too ... but the MeteOR was the biggest suprise. I like the harmonics of the VIVO, but like the balls on the Meteor. Enjoy!
BlueJay and Jackman are my favorite
Nice demo Tone king
Thank you.
im curious to see how the blue jay would handle pedals since everyone knows how those fender amps like the blues junior and hot rod deluxe take pedals so well, im sure shane will shoot that out at some point
I liked the orange and the jcm amps.
Which is the most versatile?
the joyo Vivo is my favorite. i kind of want to run my modded boss pedal through it
Can anyone that has one tell me if it is ok to run one of these into a di box with cab sim to go to a desk? And it is ok to use with earphones in but no speaker? Thank you.
For me It's
Yellow
Blue
White
Green
Black
Red
meteor and the normal channel of the blue jay.. they seemed like they pushed air. the v1v0 and zombie were blah. the atomic was disappointing and didn't hear that ac sound
Does anyone know which one of these has the best platform for pedals and has the best clean channel?
I like the 6505 n the Orange sounds!!!
