The Temple of Garni is the only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded building in Armenia and the former Soviet Union. An Ionic pagan temple located in the village of Garni, Armenia, it is the best-known structure and symbol of pre-Christian Armenia.
Khor Virap monastery, a short drive from Yerevan, lies on the Ararat plain, in sight of the closed border with Turkey. The monastery has been a pilgrimage site for the Armenian Apostolic Church for centuries. Its position is particularly poignant as it has breathtaking views of snow-capped Mt Ararat, which Turkey seized from Armenia after the Turkish-Armenian war in 1920. Armenians still regard Mt Ararat as a symbol of Armenia and it is depicted on the currency.
Geghard is a medieval monastery in the Kotayk province of Armenia, being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this monastery is a renowned ecclesiastical & cultural center of medieval Armenia. The monastery complex was founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator at the site of a sacred spring inside a cave. The monastery had thus been originally named Ayrivank meaning "the Monastery of the Cave". Today, it is called "Monastery of the Spear" from the Armenian word "geghard" meaning spear which originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus at the crucifixion, alledgedly bought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus. Now the spear is displayed in the Etchmiadzin Treasury.

You probably got the best view of Ararat I’ve ever seen. Absolutely beautiful. That other commenter is likely an Azerbaijani troll. Thank you for sharing.

@@Jessywildca Oh, I'm sorry that the country and the video couldn't meet your incredibly high standards of excitement and entertainment. It must be tough being the ultimate authority on what is interesting and what is not. Perhaps you should consider becoming a professional critic, since your expertise in finding things boring seems to be unmatched. I'm sure the world would benefit greatly from your unique ability to assess the excitement levels of different countries.
