Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex in Yerevan is dedicated to the memory of the 1.5 million Armenians who perished in the first genocide of the 20th century.
Built in 1967 on the hill of Tsitsernakaberd in Yerevan. Every year on 24 April, the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, thousands of Armenians gather at the memorial to commemorate the victims of the genocide. The people who gather in Tsiternakaberd lay fresh flowers out of respect for all the people who died in the Armenian genocide. Over the years, from around the world, politicians, artists, musicians, athletes, and religious figures have visited the memorial.
A Fir-tree planting ceremony is in the list of official visits. The Fir-tree alley became a unique place of memory preservation and tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
Vernissage Market located 5 minutes away from Republic Square in City Center of Yerevan, is a popular location for both locals and tourists where you can find all kinds of antiques, hand made gifts
