Correct, but Kingsfield is what the nowadays soulsgames are. Armored Core is a whole different ballgame, that is where FromSoftware eventually started their development journey. It was the base to put themselves on the map.

Question for you: Your eyes kinda lit up when the quad comes boosting over at about 2:05 . Was that the point where the puzzle pieces of "From Software+mecha" clicked? For me, the pieces weren't quite falling into place, but as soon as I saw a quadmech I knew what it was, that design is pure AC
I was suspicious already when I saw how the city was rendered at 1:01 but didn't want to say much, cause I just didn't believe it yknow? the stars on fire scene at 1:22 confused the hell outta me & I almost dropped the idea it would be AC then at 1:44 those bridges, the look of it was so armored corie that I said man I wish it was. then as soon as I saw the graveyard of mechs I was like no waaaay its AC?!) you can see me eyes going crazy thinking about this at 1:53. It's clear a lot of current big names around gaming we never really Ravens back in the golden age of AC. Maybe this game can change some perspectives and revitalize the mech genre overall. I would love to see some new Gundam games that are more like Journey to Jaburo. If you haven't played that you might like it. It's like AC, minus the customization, but heavier lifelike controls.

Highly recommend setting up some emulators & try out armored core 4 / for answer on the ps3 for more modernized controls or go for the Classics armored core 3 & maybe 2 for the old school feeling for the Ps2 era.
