orhugs They used real audience all the time. Only times they did not use them were cliffhangers where they did not want to spoil things for viewers. Also, sometimes they had to remove the real laughs and add in laugh tracks because the audience laughed too loud over the voices of actors. Or sometimes the laugh went on for too long that the next line wouldn't be heard.
I don't think there's any "worst" actor among them. They're all equally talented in their own way, and bring something special to the show. Matthew Perry with his exceptional line delivery and comedic timing, David for his awkwardness and constant stuttering that was such a big part of Ross's character, Courtney for the insanity that is Monica Gueller, Jennifer for her neurotic interpretation of Rachel, Matt LeBlanc for his adorableness, and Lisa for her hilarious line delivery and craziness
I really love all of them/think they're all great, but I think if there WERE to be a best one, it'd be Matthew Perry. I was always in complete awe at his flawless line delivery, and how detailed he was in the mannerisms he brought to Chandler's character. But I agree, David Schwimmer is up there, he's insanely talented, and it was such a disappointment to me that Courtney never got an emmy for Monica while all the others got awards. All of them should be celebrated for being part of a great show
