Can't wait to get one of these for my 2000 Park Avenue Ultra, This is perfect so I don't gotta sacrifice the trunk space even tho it's huge but still especially when it can down fire, and my wife doesn't want too much bass 🤣
@@SwerveLord420 you wouldn't typically be correct and it was a very unorthodox way I installed this vs any other install I've done but this cable is in no way being touch by the mechanics of the door even though it looks crazy from an installation stand point.
I have the Kicker CompVT 12 w/the box from Kicker from 2007. They still make the speaker, it's the round slim mount, but I don't think they've made that enclosure in sometime. It's a thin enclosure like what you have. It was designed to fire into the back of the drivers seat in a pickup w/no rear seat. The speaker is mounted to the leftside of the box, facing forward, so it's right behind the seat. If mounted this way, TONS OF BASS! Is it like a 12 in a big box? No. But it works great in the rear of a pickup. However, if you can't mount it so it is basically muffled by the seat, it won't sound good. I've seen videos where people put that enclosure in the open in a hatch. Not what it was designed for. In my S-10 that i originally had the box in, it was perfect because it mounted correctly. But since I bought a Ranger years ago and moved it into that truck, it's not as good because even in the short cab, the Ranger has rear speakers that protrude from the back of the cab, making it impossible to keep the sub firing directly into the back of the seat. It's 8 inches inwards, so it kinda fires behind the hollow arm rest. That's just not the same as a solid seat. Also, although the steel in the Ranger is much higher quality, the steel in the S-10 was thicker and didn't rattle. Any sub in a Ranger will rattle that cab like crazy, so it's hard to get precise bass like in the S-10. But, like your Kicker, it still pounds. I think yours is a great design, firing down into the floor. That should keep the rattling to a minimum. Even just putting a sub in a cube box on the passenger seat of a Ranger will rattle the cab. So, it's hard to adjust mine high enough now to get the full bass it previously had. Kicker makes good subs for these slim line applications. And they last forever! Like I said, I've been running mine since 2007!
I have the CVT in my wifes truck and that one bags as well. How is yours still holding up? we just recently aquired a Honda accord that i will putting one of those in lord willing.
@Beth-El I've been jamming it for almost 17 years, and it still plays like new. Very durable. Just make sure you hook it up to a good amplifier and don't try to pound it to death in an attempt to make it sound like it's in a huge box. It's a slim line, and it does great in that application.
The box doesn't move around at all but I also move by box around depending on what I'm doing for the day or week so I wouldn't secure them in one spot. When u get the two please tag me or something so I can see how that works out. I'm sure it will sound phenomenal but ure going to have to have a nice amp to push em.
i can tell the difference however they sound similar but i can tell the bass is better with the L7T because i listen to the same music in both so i can feel how one responds to different sounds but if u were to listen to them by itself you would enjoy the sound the same with either. If you haven't heard the L7T before you probably won't miss anything and for the money and the application the CVT is a great speaker.
