Made this today and it was a HIT with my dinner guests! I even dressed it exactly like u did wif the honey, walnuts and thyme leaves. OMG...SOOOOO GOOD!
Dont know why, but it took a whole hour longer in the 100deg C oven for the cake to firm up, so for those making this for the first time, do leave to cook longer if the filling still looks wobbly when u r trying to remove it from the oven after 1.5h.

10 mins first in 230C and then for 1,5 hour at 100C. When you had it pre-heating and opened the door, the heat from 230C went down to probably 150C, so you would have to add 2-3 more mins till it will reach 230 again and after 10 mins you decrease to 100C.

    I made this recently.
And the subtle yet beautiful hints of flavours with the honey, walnuts and thyme leaves, really make this dessert a stand out.
I cheated a little and scooped a little spoon of mascarpone on the side.
Not that this tasty recipe requires it.
But man it took it to another level.
Once again not that it needed it but l had the mascarpone and l had to use it up.
It complimented this dessert so well.
    Thank you for sharing this.
It’s now a hit in my family! 😃

Such a decidant cheesecake. *I made this with a few alterations*
-I used 0% nonfat greek plain yogurt
-half the amount of sweetener and used light agave nectar instead of sugar.
-made my own crust using 2 cups ground rolled oats, 1/4 cup raw honey, and 1/2 cup coconut oil.
I made the rest as he showed. I saved this recipe because its honestly the lightest cheesecake calorie wise without compromising on flavor/texture. You can make it without the crust for lower carbs and still be very delicious 😋

My son and I couldn't wait to refrigerate it so we had a slice when it was still slightly warm - yummmm! I've made this using plain biscuits as well as chocolate coated ones and they're both great!

Baking question: When making the regular, New York cheesecake, I always put a tray of simmering water in the oven to have enough moisture to prevent the cake top from cracking (also, it's a good idea to tap the springform pan on the table a couple of times before cooking to release any air bubbles). Would this work with yogurt as well? The consistency looks quite different (more runny) and cooking time is much longer, at a higher temperature.

Awesome recipe, I watched an anime where they told that strained greek yogurt is more delicate in terms of flavor as opposed to cream cheese. I'm pretty sure that will be helpful to make other flavors stand out better. Also, it's definitely more lighter and less calorically dense which will definitely help when cheesecake is your guilty pleasure.

    Bravo Akis!
Here in NYC, and of course, around the World,GYRO, is very popular. Usually, made in large cones,of seasoned ground Beef/Lamb,rotisserie roasted, then sliced and nestled in a pita, with sald and Tsatziki,it is delicious. Some Gyro shops/stands,make authentic GYRO,with slices of Lamb. Both are classic and yummy Street food. How about an AKIS GYRO recipe?!

+Akis Kitchen Thx Akis. My stepfather was from Athens, and the Greeks do use pork often. I also enjoy the heavily seasoned ground meat Greek/American loaf styles, too. I utilize pork shoulder ir tenderloin too. Eagerly awaiting the Akis Special Gyro recipe.

The " Traditional " Greek Gyro( which is a coined Greek word) is made with any slices of meat,Lamb, mutton, chicken, pork, beef, etc, stacked in a cone, and vertically rotisserried while self basting. Deeelish.
