    That 1hr challenge was fun! How you managed to come in under an hour when you were also filming the tutorial is beyond me!
    The sweater knit version was lovely. Your son was right, the fabric pattern was nice!
    Those bra keepers on the ITY made that top. Sliding off the shoulders (when it shouldn’t be) is such a tacky look. Keeping the neckline draped as it should be made it look great.
    Loved the dress! You inspired me to use some terracotta cable knit fabric out of my stash to make a longer version of that. 😃

But then I watch, (always watch), and I am usually buying the pattern because it looks so lovely and would work for meor my daughter. I learn so much from you, thank you so much for all the wonderful content. Also, absolutely love the top you are wearing in this video, very nice fabric, looks interesting, did you also make that?

    Love all the versions you’ve made and your helpful hints. Would you consider creating a video that shows us how to create a cap sleeve either a separate piece or grown on? I prefer that coverage rather than sleeveless on many patterns. thank you.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  8 месяцев назад +2

      There is no way I can create a sleeve that would work on any armhole, for everyone and any size. Especially since most sleeveless armholes are already drafted differently and it's not just about adding any sleeve. The only trick I have done in the past was cut a strip on the bias that covers only the top part of the armhole.

    Thanks for all you do! I’m not sure how an elasticized waist works for us short waisted, large busted women though. Any thoughts on this?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  8 месяцев назад +3

      These are easier to fit than traditional bodices because the bodice is supposed to be a little longer to allow some blousing. My thoughts? Everyone has styles that they prefer more than others and I don’t see this one being for small busted people.

    Thanks for the techniques you demonstrated.. I’m confused on how to do the elastic waist .

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  8 месяцев назад

      Sew the bodice to the skirt with 1" seam allowance. Serge the edge all around, press the seam allowance down towards the skirt and top stitch all around, leaving a small gap.... thread your elastic through the little gap then sew the gap closed and voila.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles

      @@vernabeckstead5148 you tack after the sleeve is in. Just move the facing out of the way. Pin it away from the armhole area.

    Karina, fabulous video, as always. Do you think I could make this dress in a knit plisse fabric? It has 80% widthways and 15% lengthways stretch. I need something fancy to wear, soon, and I have this in my stash.

    How hard would it be Karina to make the front drape the same height as the back drape?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  7 месяцев назад

      Experimentation …. But I’m not keen to waste fabric like that. Cowls are complex in their origin and it’s not about just changing them.

  • @kathiethompson6719
    @kathiethompson6719 7 месяцев назад

    How do I make the drape end up deeper than the shallow drape but not as deep as the deep drape? I want to put the drape finish somewhere in between the two that is in the pattern. Thank you.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  7 месяцев назад +1

      I saw you asked this in the Facebook group and I’ll reiterate that you’d have to redraft the whole front and it’s not possible to do unless you know how to draft patterns. The way the cowl originates is quite complex so it’s not a matter of choosing a middle ground here.

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles Katrina I apologize, but I’m having so much trouble with the chorus understanding some of the directions. Mostly right now the directions says that the facing should be caught in the same when you’re sewing the sleeve in. Where? In the shoulder seam and just a little bit, it doesn’t explain it very well to me anyway.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  6 месяцев назад +1
