Same! Although you can’t really block it yet, you can remove shorts from being recommended on you starting page on RUclips. You just have to open it on the browser in your phone and click the three buttons next to the shorts and then on not interested. Then the shorts will not be recommended on the RUclips FYP, you can however still watch them, but I find it easier to ignore that way

I deleted Instagram 2 days ago from my phone, and i am now actually being able to wake up and not feel like a potato every morning or be angry for no reason. I started to exercise and learn a new language so i am really thinking to not go back for a week and then when i do go back i will limit my time like only in the night when i see that i finished my things for the day and between 12 and 2 am i should delete it and be asleep i hope this will work because my depression is getting worst amd i am the one who control my life and brain not the other way around ( it is a hard thing for me to understand i have some level of adhd so yeah). Also when you said that you will miss nothing if you didnt open social media that hit me directly because this is the thing that was keeping me attached to it so thank you for this video i felt that i was not alone in this situation.

this video is something ive been needing to see lately. Ever since school ended, I have had absolutely nothing to do. I have almost no hobbies (With my only hobby being scrapbooking, which i do truly enjoy and want to pick back up again), no "talents", no plans, and nothing to distract me. To fill the time, I just scroll on tiktok all day. This puts me into a state of derealization and makes me feel like shit. I go out on a walk after doomscrolling and I feel so unattached to my surroundings. I kind of realized social media was the cause of this and sort of stopped posting for a tiny bit, before I ultimately decided to delete it last night after watching this video. This morning, I actually woke up, meditated for the first time, which i surprisingly enjoyed a lot and will definitely continue, went on a walk, and talked with my mom as I ate breakfast, and it felt way better than if I had just sat in my bed for an hour and a half in the morning scrolling. Idk, it just feels so much better without social media. I hope i can just continue to live without social media and find other ways to distract myself.
After I've watched this video of @mikaylamags I realized she's right social media addiction is not healthy, it will ruin yourself perspective at some point... So I think it's time for me to just focus on myself not be bothered by social media and see who really Am I out of social media. ❤

You could do timed posts, that way you're still active on social media. You could also put a time limit (with a code that someone else chooses so that you can't skip it) so that you can still post daily.

there’s an app i use called opal, it can’t directly block reels or shorts but you can set timers for it to block the app altogether when you’re done
