Aside from Misty being a good person for Carly, that's how Cults are like. They comfort the victims to assure them that it's okay that they don't understand and it'll all be all right in the end. Misty isn't mean or nasty towards anyone but Akiza.
Can I just say that they absolutely nailed the scene at the end of this episode where Misty helps Carly come to terms with being a Dark Signer? I know 4Kids doesn't have the best dubs out there, but this scene is one of their dub highlights, in my opinion.
I am Italian and the first time I watched the series in Italian it was really well dubbed. I was a little disappointed when I saw it with the English dubbing.
What a fun 3-parter this was and extremely layered. You see Carly doing a bunch of detective work and when she gets in trouble you expect Jack or somebody to rescue. You don't expect her to actually die and be reborn as a villain. Then Sayer and the Arcadia movement are getting ready to make their move, only to be severely undecut by the real threats, the Dark Signers with their Earthbound Immortals. Add some tension with the fates of the twins and Akiza and there's a lot going on.
Its so sad to see what happens to a character that is forced into such darkness when they never wanted the power to begin with. Akiza and Carly's fates are so painful with one being shunned and unknowingly being used as a weapon and the other being underappreciated her whole life and being forced to assist in the destruction of the world. Both will always be my favorite female characters, not just for their characterization, but by how people of today can easily be placed in such corners that they look for those that will accept them despite being used or forced to only care for themselves.
What's worse is that Akiza's father got away with it all Scott Free! Forcing Akiza to live with it every day of her life! Her father the senator is every bit as bad as Goodwin. Or should I say Badwin.

It's so ironic that the first person to make Akiza see the error of her ways is a Dark Signer, a Signer's nemesis. I got chills when Akiza began questioning herself while Misty was high on the monologue. I freaking love it!
Let me tell you the Sub is a lot more chilling. Misty's brother was actually murdered and she blames Akiza for it. Her having to potentially deal with the guilt of a mourning family member while hits even more
Very satisfying to watch Carly get her revenge on Sayer. That guy sucks. But it must hurt for Akiza to watch the first person to try and help her fall to his death. Seeing the Earthbound Immortals up against the buildings really gives a sense of their scale. They're terrifying!

Although Carly had become a Dark Signer, I'll be honest I was rooting for her in her rematch with Sayer. It was incredibly satisfying to see her beat him. He is such a prick that he deserves zero sympathy.
you know, synchros started the game going downhill, the card games on motorcycles shtick is silly at best but after long years I've given this series a chance and I gotta say this is easily the best-written yugioh series to date. Characters are well written and develop, the plot is super engaging, themes aren't afraid to be dark, psychological and deep.... Show is silly but knows it and embraces it (like a trading card cutting chains). It's a joy to watch and I can't believe I never gave it the credit it deserves
5Ds is definitely in contention for being the best written. I'd say that Duel Monsters (non-filler) is better written, then 5ds, then V-RAINS. Top 3 right there.

It’s even worse because she never actually specifies who her brother is. She doesn’t tell Akiza his name or his age or what he looks like, so even if she perfectly remembers everyone she’s ever talked to, how is she supposed to know which one of them is Misty‘s brother?
I liked Misty guilt-tripping Akiza for hurting people at the Fortune Cup, only to immediately summon an Earthbound Immortal that absorbed hundreds of bystander's souls. She raised a valid point about the immorality and selfishness of lashing out at randos simply because they don't understand the particulars of or empathize with your tragic backstory, only to turn around and do something worse herself. 😂

Yu gi oh 5ds season 1 is like the main quest with all the signer shinanegans and boss at the end its when you learn about the story and character and make sense of things and season 2 is the side quests
And that why i love the dark signers because those guys and gals can be really scary and evil to the max in fact i have one earth bound immortal rosca .

Carly’s earthbound immortal is a giant evil hummingbird yet her deck is full of fortune ladies and not one singled winged beast monster making her the only dark signer to not have monsters that support her ace monster! They should’ve given her a spell caster earthbound immortal
Actually, her deck supports her immortal very well. Hummingbird effect is, when it leaves the field it destroys every monster on the enemies field and deals 800 per card. Because of Future Vision, it forcefully sends it away to activate its effect then resummons it on her turn to attack. Its basically a free field wipe. So it does actually work well with her deck even though its a hummingbird.

My biggest issue with Misty here is how little thought she put into her plan, like if your brother is still alive and the movement have him its possible they were keeping him in this building and if they were by summoning her Immortal she literally just got his soul consumed destroying any chance of getting him back.
That's a case of the English dub retroactively breaking the show's own continuity. In the original, her brother was killed by Arcadia, and she was trying to avenge his death. But since 4Kids can't have the word "death" in the show, the localization team changed the background story.
this is one of the many plot points that got completely ruined by 4kids' censorship, they could've handled it in much better ways to still have it make sense but they opted to just erase the concept of death entirely and ruined everything

Wait a hot second; how is it that the rest of the bystanders were absorbed by Misty's Immortal, but Greiger wasn't? What, the only way to protect yourself from the immortals if you're not a Signer is to just hide in a car?
I really felt for Carly at the end of this episode. Everything just seems to have gone all wrong for and she realises it's too late now. First she had the footage of Yusei's first duel against a dark signer that she needed for her story taken away, then she got close to Jack only for him to push her away, then she found out the truth about Goodwin but was killed before she could do anything with this information and now she's been brought back to life but knows she can never have the life she wanted anymore.
I think the funny thing is that the the reptilian gorgon's effect couldnt be activated because uts e of savage collesium's effect requiring all monsters to battle
I don't see how Sayer could've won his duel against Carly. He had one last turn but his hand only had Premature Burial, Storm Caller, an unknown card, Psychic Commander, and then Teleport. He only had two special summon spells cards in which he would need to lose 800 LP each so even if he could summon use Teleport to summon Commander and Premature Burial to summon Magical Android, or Storm Caller and Krebons respectively, to Synchro Summon Thought Ruler Archfiend he would need to give up 1000 LP to negate Slip of Fortune, which he would not do since he would still only have 200 LP. Unless the unknown card was Psychic Rejuvenation or Telekinetic Charging Cell. For the former, if he had done all of which he would do, special summon Magical Android and Storm Caller, then Attack, Slip of Fortune, Android Attacks, then summon Commander, and during his end phase he could place Psychic Rejuvenation down while still gaining 1200 LP, then when Carly Attacks he could activate Rejuvenation to gain 1000 LP for each Psychic Type monster on his field, sure he would still lose his monsters but Carly's Earthbound Immortal would still be gone for his turn. But it's unlikely since he didn't place Psychic Rejuvenation face down. If it was the latter, Telekinetic Charging Cell, by Synchro Summoning Thought Ruler Archfiend he could equip it to Archfiend and then once he attacks, Carly would activate Slip of Fortune, but he can negate it without paying LP since Telekinetic Charging Cell would prevent Archfiend from making Sayer to pay LP. Ergo, Fortune Lady Fire is destroyed, Carly loses 2300 LP, and Sayer would gain 400 LP, and Carly would be less likely to Win the Duel. And it probably is that equip card in his hand since it was still in his hand.
So the earthbound immortals, would they be considered weaker that the Egyptian God cards? I mean yes I know the cards themselves are most likely stronger pending summon conditions and what dictates their attack and defense but before they were bound to cards or stone slabs would the God cards been able to curb stomp them?
How the scene would have gone if the anime effects werent changed: Misty: go on, get your beloved Black Rose Dragon back. Ill just destroy it. Akiza: not if I destroy it first!

My biggest issue with Misty here is how little thought she put into her plan, like if your brother is still alive and the movement have him its possible they were keeping him in this building and if they were by summoning her Immortal she literally just got his soul consumed destroying any chance of getting him back.

That's a case of the English dub retroactively breaking the show's own continuity. In the original, her brother was killed by Arcadia, and she was trying to avenge his death. But since 4Kids can't have the word "death" in the show, the localization team changed the background story.

I really felt for Carly at the end of this episode. Everything just seems to have gone all wrong for and she realises it's too late now. First she had the footage of Yusei's first duel against a dark signer that she needed for her story taken away, then she got close to Jack only for him to push her away, then she found out the truth about Goodwin but was killed before she could do anything with this information and now she's been brought back to life but knows she can never have the life she wanted anymore.
I think the funny thing is that the the reptilian gorgon's effect couldnt be activated because uts e of savage collesium's effect requiring all monsters to battle

I don't see how Sayer could've won his duel against Carly. He had one last turn but his hand only had Premature Burial, Storm Caller, an unknown card, Psychic Commander, and then Teleport. He only had two special summon spells cards in which he would need to lose 800 LP each so even if he could summon use Teleport to summon Commander and Premature Burial to summon Magical Android, or Storm Caller and Krebons respectively, to Synchro Summon Thought Ruler Archfiend he would need to give up 1000 LP to negate Slip of Fortune, which he would not do since he would still only have 200 LP.
Unless the unknown card was Psychic Rejuvenation or Telekinetic Charging Cell. For the former, if he had done all of which he would do, special summon Magical Android and Storm Caller, then Attack, Slip of Fortune, Android Attacks, then summon Commander, and during his end phase he could place Psychic Rejuvenation down while still gaining 1200 LP, then when Carly Attacks he could activate Rejuvenation to gain 1000 LP for each Psychic Type monster on his field, sure he would still lose his monsters but Carly's Earthbound Immortal would still be gone for his turn. But it's unlikely since he didn't place Psychic Rejuvenation face down.
If it was the latter, Telekinetic Charging Cell, by Synchro Summoning Thought Ruler Archfiend he could equip it to Archfiend and then once he attacks, Carly would activate Slip of Fortune, but he can negate it without paying LP since Telekinetic Charging Cell would prevent Archfiend from making Sayer to pay LP. Ergo, Fortune Lady Fire is destroyed, Carly loses 2300 LP, and Sayer would gain 400 LP, and Carly would be less likely to Win the Duel. And it probably is that equip card in his hand since it was still in his hand.
The cards to be printed are Dimension Reversion (trap) and Synchro Spirits (trap)

I mean yes I know the cards themselves are most likely stronger pending summon conditions and what dictates their attack and defense but before they were bound to cards or stone slabs would the God cards been able to curb stomp them?
