We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

Impressive that something so small would have an electric start. I remember there was a time in which only an Onan (prior to the Cummins/Onan merge) of similar wattage had this feature.

I have the same unit with 130 hours on it which I picked up used for $3500 Canadian. I power the home through the Generlink switch which gives me complete home backup when needed. I agree the unit is expensive but it's well worth it when the power goes out. Best way to look at it is like you are buying insurance but at the same time you are getting something superb for your money along with that "insurance" .
This unit has more than enough power for a small home including the air conditioning and all other circuits combined. The only thing I wouldn't power up along with other things is the gas clothes dryer which takes over 4850 watts of power. I have seen videos stress testing this unit and it will run for some time at 6500 watts and only goes into overload at 7200 watts.
Best not to stress the unit at these power levels but I do think Honda under rates their units. I ran this unit recently when we had a major power outage (first in 30 years) and it used about a litre an hour of gas. So it was quite inexpensive to run as well.

BTW, I also have a 10 outlet 110 volt Reliance switch installed in my home and only bought the expensive Generlink because I found it a nuisance to be using extension cords to reach into areas of the home where there were outlets that didn't get powered on the Reliance switch. However if you can stand only this limited number of powered circuits in your home, this is a much less expensive option to consider. Plus there are many good generator units on the market which will do the job effectively (although none to my knowledge are as quiet as the Honda). At the time, I paid about $500 on Amazon for it and installed it myself, so much cheaper than the Generlink that came to $2500 Canadian after installation by the dealer (including being screwed by Ottawa Hydro for a useless permit for $400....they didn't do a damn thing and the selling dealer did it all).
This unit is pretty much the same as the EU7000 but has no fuel injection so VITAL to drain the carb after each use (easy with drain hose built in) plus always keep Stabil in the gas when storing fuel.

I can see you take pride in your work. There is no sense in having an emergency generator that doesn't work when you need it. I am subscribing to your channel after seeing this. Only a small percentage of the videos on you tube are done by people that are not hackers. I have one suggestion that you likely already thought of. Throughout the country there are stations that carry gas with no ethanol. It has a much longer storage life and a quick search on line will show if there is a station near you.

I just gave away the second Honda 2000 watt generator. First one ran so bad and I had to drive 60 miles to repair station then drive back and get it. Sold it on end of second year of using it and bought an new one because everyone else told how great they were and I had just bought a lemon. Second generator was taken to repair three times in first summer. On second season of problems took it into Yuma and they put on new carburetor which was not warranted so paid for that second year the motor ran and no power was about 36 months along then but didn't want to drive I just figured I would wait till I got to Yuma. Had been to US rentals in Globe Az but they couldn't figure it out and Honda would not help them because they were not a listed Honda Dealer. Got to Yuma and they told me warranty ran out in May so I was over several months and they wanted $85 dollars and told me to repair it they wanted $700 the Invert er was shot. Told them to keep it I was not paying 85 bucks for a worthless generator. This story will be posted at all places that campers frequent this next summer.

Can you run the Central air conditioner along with the refrigerator and 2 freezers... and 2 or 3 wall outlets for charging phones?? My mother in law has this same generator and I'm almost positive my husband said the electrician said this is good for u, it will do all your needs, just dont get crazy and run the dishwasher and washing machine while the AC is running...but yet I think my crazy controlling neurotic mother in law just got him to set it up so it only runs 2 wall outlets in the kitchen , the fridge and 2 freezers in basement (2 filled freezers in basement bc shes nuerotic). I'm just trying to figure out if this particular generator is powerful enough to do the job of a central AC for a 2k sq ft house along with the fridge and freezers.

Did you have to splice the wires to run through the pickups on the reliance watt meter? I have a similar setup with a recessed panel and the electrician I had install the same meter said splicing within the box was necessary because the wires had to be shielded in the wall and getting the meter pickups to the wires in the panel would have been a challenge. I’ve just always wondered if that was the right way to go. Thanks!

Very nice indeed. I have been researching portable generators and Honda, while expensive in comparison to other manufacturers, is clearly the best I've seen. One question. What have you done for a shelter for that bad-boy if you should need power during a rain or snow event. That for me is the biggest issue right now. I've looked on-line and I can't find anything that's portable, easy to set up and will stand its ground (no pun intended lol) in a windy environment. Your hookup is what I want, can't see running extension cords all over the house.

You could make a little saltbox "shed" for it, using pressure treated 4x4s, deck screws, and some 3/4 plywood. Use some Thompson's water seal, or some oil based stain, and it should last a good while.

I have the small honda eu2000 inverter for my town house. I have a deck overhead but some rain will still get through. I just tip my wheel barrow over top of it! The small one will not run my heat or AC obviously, will run 2 fridges and some lights, etc. Preserves the food and doesn't make much noise since my neighbors are close. It will run 12 hours on a gallon of fuel, which is pretty great.

Honda makes great products but the new EU7000is that replaced this model is almost $4000. The only thing it does better than my Rigid generator is the sound. My Rigid was $699 and I like the handle and frame better. I also have more outlets as well as all of the 120 outlets are GFCI as well as breakers. I'll take the noise and buy 4 rigid generators and have change left over for ear plugs.
