It depends upon the diaphragm used . Branded speaker manufacturing companies use high quality diaphragm and sound processing unit (SPU) .But cheap quality speakers use just a plastic diaphragm. So the quality differs.

Your clarification in the range of speakers is inadequate. What I heard is there are three way speaker systems consisting of one tweeter, one woofer and a squaffer. Woofer delivers bass sounds, tweeter delivers treble sounds and the squaffer delivers tone and voice sounds. Subwoofer is the extracted form of bass speaker from the three way speaker system. Please clarify with the pro electronic experts before give your definition to the listener instead of wrong information.

Bro that is down firing sub which means speaker facing down and port facing front, the sound bounces from down and the port facing front makes bass louder and deeper. You can remove them and check. I'm an audio engineer no one can cheat me in this bro.
