Fishing with Go Ham reviews the lifetime Tioga 10 foot fishing kayak. #kayakfishing #lifetimetioga #fishingwithgoham #kayakreviews #lifetimetiogareview #lifetimekayaks
Just bought one of these kayaks. I used empty Behr plastic paint buckets in my cargo hatches. Front fits perfect, rear one I had to go around the outside of the rim of the bucket with hot glue about 1/8”. Thanks for this review, I feel better about my purchase.
Dude great video and solid points you made! I'm just getting back into fishing and I'm lookin to get one of these on the 299 sale. I seen some guy bought paddle holders and mounted them on rails and they hold up nice. For the storage id say get a thin rubber mat and fish it inside there.. im 6'2 215lbs so im hoping i got plenty of room.
@@TrueRueTube Maybe the older ones did but I haven't seen any from T.S. recently that have more than the front storage. Even the booklet that came with it though says 2 storage compartments. 🤷♂
The tamarack and tioga are indeed the same kayak, the tamarack is a pound heavier I believe, so maybe slightly thicker plastic? The spitfire is also the same kayak minus the rod holders and seat pad, so if someone wants one of these for non fishing purposes, they could save about 80 bucks.
Mine has water in the hull 2nd time out on a lake. Why is water seeping into the hull? Not where I sit on top. I mean inside. If I take the drain plugs out there is water in there. Why?
@FishingWithGoHam I bought a pelican that leaks and I can trade it in for a Tioga. The Pelican had bumpouts for footholds similar to your set up but much more pronounced. They dug into my calves to the point where it hurt. But they were removable and replaced by a comfortable adjustable. The ones on the Tioga are molded and can't be replaced. Are they comfortable? I don't want to have the same problem if they can't be replaced. Also it looks like you use the tallest footholds. I am 6'2" will that be a problem? thanks.
I saw that flash right b4 you said lightning..... lol and is that paddle fiberglass? ooops (lightning rod) I am going to pick one up today at TSC they are on sale for 269.00 I just want it for the river behind my cabin. did you get those scupper plugs? also inside the storage areas, does water get in there or is dry? thanks man
The paddles that come with it are plastic, I don’t use scupper plugs because the little bit of water that occasionally comes in helps me stay nice and cool on hot days, and I’ve never had any problems with water getting in the storage area. I hope this helps and thanks for watching. 🙂
With the drain holes near the seat does it let water in? I’m not tryin to sit in the lake so debating this one or the one with the actual chair seat that brings you up but it’s about 80$ more
Water will come up the scupper holes. I'm 6'3" 250, so I sit in the water a little deeper than most. Get foam practice golf balls and stick them in the holes under the seat.
Yes absolutely its my first pick for when I’m in a hurry. Super light weight and easy to transport and handles very well on the water. The only real downside is that it’s pretty hard to stand up on. I’m sure you will enjoy it. 🙂
I hated on crocs for years but when I was finally gifted a pair I realized how versatile and comfortable they really were and I havnt looked back since lol. Also I’m glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂
So what really makes that piece of junk a fishing kayak? You can put rod holders on anything. My thing is, if it has no compartment for storing fish I've caught, then it's not a fishing Kayak.
Catch and release, stringer, or rig up a livewell in the back. Youd have to seal it off as the inside of the hull is completely open. Its a $350 full price yak, you're not going to get a live well at that price.
The storage is much better than a standard kayak plus the 2 rearward rod holders and the one he didn't cover on the side, but its 350 dollars the true "fishing kayaks" that you are talking about are at a minimum, twice the price. And that's only really to get a live well and maybe a mount for a trolling motor which you could install both yourself
The Lifetime Tioga is The Tractor Supply proprietary model name of the Tamarack. Same exact kayak. I love mine.
Tractor Supply has them on sale right now for $249 so I picked one up today.
SCORES🎉
Mine was on sale for 199
Thank you sir I was confused about all the names.
I just purchased one I can't wait to use it.

Have had one for a year now.on sale also. Great boat. Waiting for cooler weather here in central texas.
How do you install the rod holder on the side? I just purchased this kayak. Looking forward to using it. Enjoyed your video. Thanks.
I just bought mine on sale for $199 🤘 couldn't pass it up! My husband has the tamarack and I love his, so of course I grabbed this one!
Just ordered mine too. Can't pass it up for $199! Enjoy!
I got the same deal! Go tractor supply!
Same. That deal ended yesterday. Mine doesn’t have the rear storage

@TrueRueTube mine doesn't have the rear storage either. I'm not too worried about it though, I dont take much with me
$380 right now at TSC. Luckily I got a used (but never used) one for $275.

Thanks I liked the video. You kept it very basic that is cool
Looks like a great model for my fishing kayak and budget Do you know if a stadium seat sold at Walmart could be attached for a more comfortable seat?
Absolutely
Are there scupper hole near the seat? Does your butt get soaked?
@@calliewilliams9221 i haven’t purchased one yet. Hope to soon
@@calliewilliams9221 Yes. Get foam practice golf balls and stick them in the holes under the seat.

It stays pretty dry I’ve never had water get up to my seat

Can for a fishing cooler to store fish ?
Fit***
water seems to come in from behind the seat, any suggestions?
Plug the scupper holes
foam practice golf balls. Stick them in the scupper holes.
Enjoyed your video. I am new to kayaks and this one fits the bill. Are you still enjoying it? I'm picking the same one up tomorrow.

Good review until i saw the crocs, which cost you all credibility. jk, lol (good review)
