@btb554 I’m not really aware of a reliable way to do this ): you could try looking up “cashew cheese” recipe from my understanding it’s boiled cashews + agar agar then freezing to set.
@btb554 look up slicable vegan cheese recipes...I can't remember the name of the channel I saw a lady making some that looked good & had regular ingredients that most people have on hand.

I always rehydrate my TVP in water, then rinse it off thoroughly. Otherwise you get that strong, sometimes bitter soy flavor. After that, I simmer it with a veggie bouillon cube and a little more water for flavor
👉.. pro tip... first of all soak the TVP in water and squeeze out .. do this a few times. It will take away that funky gluten flavor.. Do the same thing for SOY CURLS ALSO.. YOUR WELCOME !)👍
Hmm, not sure what TVP you are using but the Bob's red mill stuff doesn't need to be squeezed out, and I soak it in broth for flavor. It doesn't have a gluten taste because it's not made from gluten either. I do squeeze out soy curls though.
@Thee Burger Dude I use Bobs... and i always use to have to add a TON of strong flavors to mute that God aweful gluten wang.. but I soak and squeeze that out a few times and it's actually delish now.. like I said I do this w soy curls also and bow they are amazing.. I've made posts of FB groups who agreed that after doing this they also like the flavor much better.. its NoT necessary to do it... not a requirement.. but it sure helps w the outcome. Many people don't notice that wang of gluten but some like me just can't stand it.. I also do this to green jack fruit but I simmer for 15 min a couple times and rinse and gently sqeeze.. works great..🙂✌️✌️
@@Shuggiesit isnt made with wheat four or vital wheat gluten though, so it doesn't taste like it either. It may have a taste to it but it's not gluten aka wheat protein.

My favorite will always be a portobello burger, you put something heavy on top of the mushroom while it’s cooking and it gets a meatier texture. Melt some vegan cheese on there and cover to let it melt. Definitely recommend. I’d love to see you try this in a video !
Duuuuuude- I am so glad I found your RUclips! You’re so next level man! I appreciate your help and guidance with these legit vegan recipes. Still allowing that southern comfort vibe to shine in thru!
Just wondering... I have soy chunks and curls, couldn't I blitz either one with a food processor and end up with those crumbles and use that instead of buying the ones already crumbled? I have a lot of this stuff.
There's this really dirty, cheap nutmeat you can buy canned at grocery stores (and it was all we had for a while in NZ lol) and the softened peanuts add a really pleasant texture. Reckon it would be a great idea!

Why does vegan cheese look less artificial than American cheese 😂
Actually looked like a pork patty ngl
It’s burned
One thing i dont get. Why make vegan dishes flavoured as meat based . If you are vegan then avoid the flavourings that resemble meat flavour ?

Incorrect. Nutritional yeast has B12 too.

Also, it helps to run the TVP through a fine wire mesh strainer to remove the tiny TVP "dust"
That dust adds to the funky flavor

You can just use more nooch / salt / soy sauce
I found some at the Asian market in a big yellow can. Also, you could use dried and pulverized mushrooms!
If you get real desperate, you can just get a pestle and mortar and make it yourself
