Steve, nice job on setting up automations with a few of the motor popular video doorbells. IFTTT has some nice integration, but now with them charging a monthly costs, pretty much eliminated them from the mix!

I have an Eufy doorbell and it works really well the only complaint I have is the battery life, tends to need to be recharged more often than I’d like. Other than that very happy with it. The Eufy has package protection.

Thanks for the information. Just not sure why you're not just using the routines in the Alexa app instead of IFTTT. I agree that IFTTT is useful for more complex if, then routines, but for the examples you gave in the video I didn't see any that couldn't have done easier, faster and cheaper in the Alexa app....i.e. If the doorbell rings blink a light, etc.
Nest has the package detection as well I love the nest
I know that with Ring and Samsung TVs you can add both to SmartThings and set a notification to display on the TV if an action takes place.

I have an Arlo Doorbell and like the idea of a small screen for my daughter to see who is at the door. Any suggestions on possible setup? Would I just look for a very small screen with HDMI for a Chromecast? What worries me is that the small screen would need to be switched on 24/7, yet is only used for a few seconds every day on average...
I have bought 2 Ring Doorbells and I don’t care if it’s $3 a month I bought the doorbell and I’m very IT savy so I’m going to build me something that I don’t have to pay for any subscriptions thankfully I have my degree in IT so I’ll stay in touch if anyone wants to know what I have done to make a free doorbell with ring doorbells, blink cameras, Wyze cameras for my parts.

I may or may not use the Ring + Alexa + IFTTT combo and it's fantastic! But, you left out the Logi Circle View Doorbell and HomePod :( Great video as always Steve!!

I have 5 Google minis, one Hub and 2 new Google doorbells. The upper deck only announces at the Hub, the lower deck announces only on the nearby the door Mini.
If you have a video that announces on all of the Minis and the Hub, please post it. It's for to be something simple that I'm missing.

I got a question. I have the Arlo Ultra 4K cameras and my Google Home goes off every time someone is detected. I love it. how can I get it to cast to my TV every time someone is detected it already cast when I say the hot word to the google home

Hi Steve I have some Arlo cameras and when the batteries were dead I took them down to charge and when I plugged them in I got a lightning bolt and I left it charged for hrs and nothing.......any suggestions

I've been disappointed with IFTTT every time I messed around with it. Even the app interface is a mess.
I have ring and alexa so I just make routines based on motion/no motion and doorbell presses. The motion sensor in it is good enough that I've been able to get rid of the independent motion sensor I had on the porch.
BTW, ring just added smart responses to the ring doorbell 2nd gen. Do you know how to change the speaker volume? I only see a volume adjustment for the doorbell chime.
Thank you. General Settings has the option to adjust the Ringer and Speaker volumes.
Looks great to catch Porch Pirates. However I also have my 200 pound dog to catch the bad guys!

You have all these features but you can't turn down the speaker volume on the doorbell speaker. If you do try to have a two-way conversation with the person outside the speaker blows them away because it's way too loud and if you live in a condo every person on your floor can hear your conversation😢
Would this work with Roku please.
I have my ecosystem with Smarttings and Samsung phone. Samsung phone dont answer fine, the volume is low, its a problem with the microphone. I quit the screen protection from the speakers or Ring doorbell, to works fine =(

Thank you! I currently have a mix of Eufy and Arlo. That Arlo Ultra is hard to beat when it comes to quality.

Nothing on the wyze doorbell
I also have Wyze. Am very disappointed that they just started charging a fee for smart person, car & package detection. (On Wyze) They are also only allowing only 5sec recording every 5 mins free. Otherwise you have to pay for continuous recording. I do have my Wyze cameras connected with my Alexa’s though, which I love. They didn’t use to charge for these features & I use to have continuous recording on my SD cards at no charge, but to get it to go to the Cloud, you’ll have to pay. (After 14 days free) Good Luck
My door bell is old ,but work greats ...has voice activating and sensor...load as hell ...but you have to feed him 2 times a day .and scratch his ass .🐕🐕🍺🍺
