I'd love to see an updated version of this. I've had Arlo for a little under 2yrs now and I've had no end of hardware issues with it. Especially in very hot or very cold weather. It's time for a change, but is Nest still the right choice in 2024?
A big thumbs-up from Scotland UK. Subscribed to your fantastic channel, great info on security cameras and purchased Eufy as it has the most popular reviews by you and other RUclipsrs.
Google’s subscription is still far too costly, even with their reduced rates. Between these four, the Eufy seems to be the beat value overall with its own subscription free local drive , but am buying the LogiTech Circle Doorbell for its ability to work with my HomePods and iCloud that I already subscribe to. Definitely learned about why I shouldn’t buy the Ring or Arlo from this review. Surprised as they are two of the more known brands. Thanks for the comparison 👍🏼
I have a Nest. My notifications seem to come in late also the live load times are terrible. Like I said before, my biggest problem is that if someone rings my Nest doorbell, I click on the notification, and it just sits there and takes forever to load, I normally have to shut it down and by then the person is gone or I'm getting broke into (joke). I have gigablast internet so internet speed is not an issue.
I love my new ring doorbell with front camera/floodlights and back camera/floodlights. We have Alexa portals through our house which is amazing. Ironically we have a nest thermostat lol. I did my research on all these doorbell apps and security cams. The new ring is perfect for us. I researched the other but Ring is perfect. We have a low crime area for our house/neighborhood. It is perfect for me!
Great video. I'm pretty invested in the Google/nest ecosystem so the nest doorbell has intrigued me, but the subscription and cost (£225 here in the UK!) Has put me off slightly. However, I do have a Eufy Robovac and have been impressed with it. Do you know if the Eufy doorbell is able to show live views on the Nest Home Hub and announce on nest/Google mini's?
Hello an excellent video very informative!! I was just wondering if the Nest Hello was actually compatible in every way with Alexa, meaning when the doorbell is rung, it will say “Steve is at the front door, will it still announce that through my TV or Alexa show 8?? Thank you an thank you for your timely response
Now Arlo monthly subscription for door bell is $8.99. March 2024. But I have tried all wiresless eufy, Arlo and ring. And Arlo has been the best never missed notification, correct an amounts of video footage and battery life insane. It used to be $2.99 then $4.99 now $8.99 which is a big con. I would love have an option to have only a week or two cloud storage and lower monthly subscription fee like $4.99 no more than that.
Deciding to keep my rimg cams or get nest cams..my google home and goole mini got slow and have to yell and repeat about 3 times so it can answer. Have one Alexa dot and works pretty good with smart devices and seems it has a better mic cause it hears a lot better than google..anyways debating between nest cams so I can switch to google or keep ring cams so I can switch to Alexa all together. Don't k ow what to do
Subscription fees are a joke, sorry but in this day and age we have enough bills to pay, company’s try and squeeze you for as much as possible, let alone to pay for something that gives us more features when it cost allot already. Eufy blows most of these out the park in terms of quality/no subscription.
Thanks Steve, love your videos. I don’t have wiring already to wire a video doorbell so I’m considering the EUFY doorbell however I do have other nest products. I guess it doesn’t matter if you get a different brand camera to the others or would you suggest keeping it all to google nest?
Great video, but I am confused: Google Nest Doorbell records in 2K? The resolution says "1600x1200" - I thought 2 K = 2560x1920 (which is what Eufy does)....? Also Google Nest only shows snap shots of events not video clips....unless you have the Nest Aware I guess?
Nice video. You didn’t talk about the notification delay on the Nest or how well does bothe the Nest and Arlo correctly identifies the subject. Then there’s the subscription fees. $120/yr or $30/yr, that’s a big difference.
"Pre-roll" is such B.S. Four seconds of low-res video before the clip starts? Huh? Why does the clip "start" 4 seconds after it actually starts recording? Realistically that's just saying the first 4 seconds of your video will look like shit. Ring's Marketing guys said let's make it sound like a feature, lol.
Arlo video doorbell is the worst out of all. If you don't trust me simply go to Arlo community forum to find the issues. Their products are not backward compatible and you wont be able to get upgrade them or add another camera to their base station because they will not be backward compatible. They try to sell the video quality but that all. They try to make money using subscriptions and don't fall on to that trick.
I opted for the one you don't mention, the Doorbird. Why? It is POE which supplies power and a hard wired ethernet connection, you don't have to depend on unreliable wi-fi. They have an open API and RTSP, nothing proprietary which means you can add the camera to 3rd party surveillance software for 24 hour security and use all your own custom settings. It is smart enough to know if you are at home and makes a direct connection via wi-fi bypassing the cloud and servers and all those delays. Running the phone app on the same wi-fi it gives you a little icon that tells you if you are connected via the cloud or direct wi-fi, and when you are on a direct connection there is no delay in notifications when someone rings the bell, I mean none at all, it is instant. There is no monthly fee. German Engineering. The only disappointment is the camera . They claim 720p but I can only get 640 and night vision is terrible by today's standards. But everything else makes it the clear winner, hands down. Doorbird is Rings biggest competitor and you didn't even mention it.

Pretty sure eufy has quick release pin to dismount to charge, its not that much as a hassle?
Google’s subscription is still far too costly, even with their reduced rates. Awesome review bro, helped me make my choice on doorbells cams. Thank you!

Same thing for my cousin whenever he shows it to me it’s always taking ages to load lol
And he too has very fast internet
Maybe a software update would help fix the issue? Idk
Up or down to what temperature can these Door bell work?
I wonder if there is a big difference between the 2k and the 1080p Eufy doorbell.
I love my new ring doorbell with front camera/floodlights and back camera/floodlights. We have Alexa portals through our house which is amazing. Ironically we have a nest thermostat lol.

Hello
Can I use google home for arlo doorbell battery?
I would be grateful if you could answer me please.

I thought Nest Aware was £50/year for all your Nest devices?
Hello an excellent video very informative!! Thank you an thank you for your timely response
It will not. You'll need to buy a Google Nest Hub or a Google mini.
@@georgeefremidis Oh ok didn’t think so. Thank you
Congrats on 473K!!!
Not having to deal with subscription fees is a real plus for the Eufy. But are the batteries user replaceable when they no longer hold a charge?
No, you can't replace the battery with Eufy.
@@SteveDOES thanks. then it's a no go for me. I think the Google doorbell would be a better choice.
But you can wire it up to existing doorbell wiring, which will provide continuous power, right?
@@richardsmall5514 There is wired version of Eufy doorbell.

Thank sooo much for your honest reviews!
The oblong ones are also easier to rip off the wall as well, where the Ring isn't.
Will you compare the Eufy video doorbell and the Simplisafe doorbell
Love your videos. Very informative and really well done.
the google nest video doorbell just gave out on me, its dead and I have to wait on warranty to see what to do. it WONT respond to reset.
Does arlo allow a live view on a JBL google nest smart display when someone rings a door bell?

What about ring pro versus eufy wired. Which should get ?
which one did you get?
You can get 24/7 recording with Arlo. Arlo is the best
What about the armcrest???
2k video? Are you sure about that? Looks like 780p on your video ? Just wondering

I had the arlo doorbell and it wasn't very good in term of alexa.
Very helpful, thanks! Also, I just learned that Eufy also has a wired version. Just something to note for your next video. :)
He mentions it at 3:42 ...
@@manuelmorales298 sure did
Great value!
1ST ring
2nd eufy
3rd nest
4th arlo

That $120 has a $60 option as well and both cover multiple cameras
2 years later and the Hello is still the best touché NEST🤔
Ring pro?
Eufy baby

I don't want a subscription for my doorbell. Eufy is the best, the rest are ridiculous.
