I'd be interested about fuel consumption of your tow vehicle, I know my BT won't tow my next caravan but I'm shitting myself about buying any of the new breed V8 petrol 4wds now being the norm, my last work truck was a petrol 5'4L V8 and I was lucky to get 5klm per litre out of it and I didn't tow a trailer. I can't get it out of my head that I'm better off spending 60k more to purchase a big American diesel truck, BTW I love the Zone website, I've just haven't been brave enough yet to tick all the options boxes lol
Absolutely LOVED this episode, was so looking forward to it and it was as good as I expected. Hubby and I just love you guys and how real you are. I love that Chris lets you have your time and doesn’t interrupt or speak over you - you guys are such a great team and it makes it so enjoyable to watch you. Have to say though that ‘Chrish’ in the Bloopers had hubby and I in stiches laughing!! I can’t wait to learn more about the composting toilet, Ive always felt apprehensive about them and never thought I would consider one thinking it would be a hassle to maintain and smell so Im really looking forward to your future talks on it. The van is incredible and we are so happy to see you both excited for your upcoming travels and we cannot wait to join you on every episode :)

175K???!!! 175K???!!! I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. It's a nice van so don't take this as a dig, but other than maybe being 100% timberless and maybe the outdoor kitchen, there's nothing else in this van which is really different to other top vans on the market. I paid 85K for my 21' van and it's pretty much timber free and I would argue that it's better than than this Zone (comes down to personal opinion of course). Just can't believe companies can justify charging this much and people actually pay it!!
Plus it's crazy Zone are forcing customers to have composting toilet now. I have tried both and MUCH prefer the cassette style as do a lot of us caravanners out here.
We have no home to go home to, this is our home and much cheaper than an actual house so technically a saving 😉 understand your thoughts and everyone is entitled to opinions but if you saw the workmanship in person and some of the technicalities of just how this van is built you’d be wowed. Little things, the quality of the products in there, the mattress for example is like a Sealy experience. Zone give you all of your accessories and fusion lock shelves included and installed. They give you a seaflo pump, an induction cooktop for outside etc… and not to mention the included 2 day handover experience at Hangar O, no one is doing that. It’s more expensive but you pay for quality and a top shelf experience which you actually receive, we can vouch for that personally 😍
And re the composting, it’s a change and we’ve also tried both but prefer this so far, comes down to preference I guess. It’s better for the environment and that is a higher personal value for us than having a cassette toilet.
The workmanship, service, experience, price and everything else it comes with may not be for everyone and that’s ok! At least we are all out on the road travelling and living our best lives, that’s what it’s all about. 🙌🏻

I understand it's your home and hey, if people want to pay 175k, then who am I to argue. I just think you can get vans just as good (possibly better) for half the price. I guarantee my full aluminum frame (no rivets), full one piece fibreglass roof and floor and CNC cut cupboards and in-house stitched leather is just as good, possibly better as I prefer aluminium frame's for vans and think they are stronger than frameless composite.
I have seen a 2021 Zone in the flesh and it certainly didn't wow me. Of course it was nice, but again, nothing for me to say it was that much different to the competition. The Thetford 274L fridge, Dometic windows, sirocco fans, aircon, seaflo pump and a whole bunch of other things are also in my van. This is not a pi$$ing contest lol, just the price is absolutely unbelieveable. You do have more power than me...we only have 2x100ah lithium and 420w solar (through Enerdrive) but that keeps us going indefinitely and water always becomes a problem first. You will be able to live off-grid no worries at all. I can always add more batteries and solar at any point if I wanted to.
Mattress - some vans have good mattresses, some don't. It comes down to preference as everyone is different. Some people love Sealy, some people don't. I bought a mattress topper for ours just because the wife wanted it and I must admit it's like sleeping on a cloud.
Fusion lock shelves are ok I guess. Depends if you want them or not. Can pick them up fairly cheap from Bunnings.
Most new vans have seaflo pumps...including mine. Nothing special there.
Portable Induction Cookers are like $100 max...
Two day handover is ok I guess. Most other vans give you 2 nights away in a caravan park close to the dealership and you just ring if you have any issues, can't see how that's really different.
You say you pay for quality but again, the quality of my 85K van is 100% just as good, if not better in some aspects.
I agree composting toilet comes down to preference, there's quite a lot of people who have tried it and it just feels like a backwards step and you still have to empty the urine. I just feel a cassette toilet is more modern and a piece of cake and never had any smells, ever. But yeah personal opinion for sure.
Again, sounds like I'm picking an argument here and that's not what I'm doing. I'm just gobsmacked at the price and can't see how it's worth anywhere near that and in your reply you've mentioned a few things which in no way change my mind.

I do use the 70° option on our hot water coz it means you can use less in the mix and shower lasts considerably longer... but probably only a concern when attached to mains and not rationing stores.
Hi folks love the new van. I rewired my van to live off grid. It hasn’t been plugged into power since nov 2019. Running fridge etc etc the whole time. It becomes a great challenge. Bravo from Victoria Australia

Well done you pair. For some stupid reason I said to the misses. Come have a look at the inside of their van. Now today ( after I pick up my Ziggy Nomad ) I’m getting dragged around ikea, big W, Kmart and god knows where else looking at shit. Apparently we are ripping out everything from the van and restyling it from one end to the other. Putting draws and shelves here there and bloody everywhere. She’s even made a bloody list. So thanks so very much for the video. This is the last time I encourage the wife to watch any RUclips videos ever again. ( by the way great video, I loved it )
All through the saga of you getting the new caravan, I was secretly hoping you had picked a Zone but I really had no idea. Having done so, makes me feel more justified with my choices.😊😊
I found the walk through very interesting and detailed and its a shame you won't be doing our handover. You will both be hard acts to follow.
I like your choices of the upgrades too. They enhance your living comfort in what is your home. Most home owners these days pay upward of $1million, so from that perspective you got a bargain! Enjoy your caravan and your travels and perhaps we'll see you on the road somewhere.

Love your clock , we also one and it has also fallen off the wall several times and sits on the top of our seat now but works well and will come into our new van coming soon . We actually have a totally electric van , no gas or diesel . We have an electric Webber barbecue , hot water system , aircon, convection microwave and induction cooktop . Anyway , you have a wonderful caravan , congratulations , enjoy .

I just love the bloopers, cracks up. As a fellow Zoner I love your enthusiasm for the product. I love the idea of no power hookup. We have been away 3,months and I refuse a power hook up. Our/your van is too good for that power hookup. Hubby calls it the umbilical cord 😂 we also went composting loo. So much easier so keen to see your video on that. Like you said, no one talks about it🤷♀️

Any possibility of a quick video of how the sullage tank bypass has been put in. We also have a tank and I’ve learned to loath the bloody thing so we are looking at ways to bypass it when it’s not needed. Might be a helpful vid to a lot of people. 😊

Great new van, I am sure you will love it. Be careful using FusionLock in your shower, they are great but I had a couple of them and when I took them off to move them they left big suction bumps and they were only on for about 4 months, I would think the same might happen with any composite surface.

You guys should look into Water generators, that produce water from the air. I have one and it works well : ) - they are bringing out caravan ones next year apparently its called the watergen.....the new van looks amazing btw!!!
I have heard of these but apparently they can be power hungry and loud.. what’s your thoughts? 🤔 we love love the idea though and have seen and looked at them before!
@@BigOzExplorers They are not too noisy (I currently keep mine outside) they are much quieter then a normal generator and when the storage tanks fill up it stops by itself as it's full.....the one I got can hold 16L but can produce 30L a day....there are other ones but the more it can hold the heavier it will be, mine is 48kg, not sure about being power hungry as we just plugged in at home, you can get a stand alone solar system with them to run it off that though....so that way its sucking power from the independent solar system.....I do want to take it with me when we eventually buy a van (hopefully soon)

yep loved it.... the 2 things for Me that was the best and I do mean the best was the 4 keys, My old man has a van and has the old style key rings with a tag and he has 3 rows of them stuck to the wall each with a key and a discription of what each key is for.. front boot water tank 1,2,3 and whilst it works I said to him 15 years ago,,,, I ever order a van all the keys are going to be the same .... you dont need 25 different keys..... the second thing for Me is the bloopers....... love em.

We have a Sajourn Pioneer on order to pick up next month too and we wanted to know if your overhead storage in your bathroom was included in your van or if you added it later. The Feel good family caravan does not have this fitted and we have not ask zone the question yet ? We were watching your walkthrough and hoping its included in the newer version like yours.

We’re staying with Chris’s family in Mackay at the moment. Sad news about the Queen 😢 her funeral is next Thursday I think. I have a jayco with 1000w 6 panels I’ve noticed the ceiling is warmer where the panels are located.

Nice van but just a word of warning I have the same Dometic entry door and I know how hard you are on doors make sure you secure the glass door properly as many people don’t and loose them, very costly to replace and when closing the main door make sure you hold the handle up or they are prone to cracking the inside of the door.

I second that about the door , my mates maiden voyage on the Bruce in his Zone, pulled up and found the glass insert completely missing still hasn't worked out what happened.He thinks a bird or rock may have hit it. He has replaced the door with less glass in it.

I think we will leave them in the draw, I really wanted to reduce the pack up process inside as I had so much to do in the previous van. They can live in the draw and be safe driving or not now 😁

The red vision is awesome my only complaint is that the bcdc50 doesn’t talk to the bms so you don’t actually get the correct wattage of solar going into the battery. Only what runs into the bms 30
We’ll I’m not sure of that as we often see up to 60 odd amps going into the battery so wouldn’t that have to be both as the BMS is limited at 30? 🤔 still figuring it all out at the moment though so I wouldn’t class us as pros yet lol
On my van with the bms30 and bcdc50 the bcdc shows up as a positive load. That’s the way redarc and lotus have explained it to me. So if you have all the 12v off then the load side will tell you exactly what the bcdc is pumping in. Because my inverter is faulty I haven’t been able to drain the battery enough to have both chargers running flat out to see exactly what it says.
