That was so simple! I remember the 10 year old agisoft program, u needed a degree in applied maths to use it....

Thanks for the lesson! Nice lower third can you share it at the link below the description?

Is there an extra process to go through when the material is bound by retaining walls or is in a bunker?
    Thanks!

When calculating stockpiles is it important to filter the sparse cloud and dense cloud? Are reprojection accuracy, filter buy confidence, etc just a waste of time?

Can this be done with the standard edition, or do you have to have the professional edition for volume calculations. Can it be done without gcp,s?

Hello! do you suggest to do the drone captation through a 3D map OR PhotoMap? thanks

Hi, I Assume you are referring to the Capture being Nadir (Camera Straight Down) vs Oblique (Tilted on an Angle), both Methods in One Project can produce Optimal Results.

How is autodesk recap compared to agisoft metashape for generating DEM from drone survey?

Question on GCPs. We have imported gcps into the project but we do not see any white flags on the images to align our markers. We've been using Metashape for a few months now and this is the first time we have encountered this. Any idea on what we may be doing wrong?

    • @MrDennisrsjr

For reference, we have converted all cameras to the state plane coordinate system which our gcps were shot in. We do see the blue flags on the maps, just no way to align them.

Hi, Sure, this can be done, though some Methods are a little different in Pix4D. We plan on doing a video of this soon.

Whem optimising, you said select all your cameras. That's wrong. You are selecting camera/model parameters

What is the significance of choosing different Base planes? Best fit plane, mean level plane and custom level have shown dramatically different results. When we get a result how can we check to make sure it's accurate?
The more I dig into this the less confidence I have. Almost seems like the software is just making an educated guess 😞

I do not know if you are familiar with GIS tools, but you can calculate the same amount of volume by using surface volume tool in ArcGIS. It is a good way to compare both.
In regards to the base planes, I prefer using custom level, especially in areas where I do not have GCPs or in cases where there are some walls or other interferences such as trees or machinery.
      Hope this fits to you.
