I think the issue is that nothing lives long enough for a full volley. Things die in one or two hits so like 90% of the damage that those Phantom Rays were doing was just against the ground. 18:20
Would also be interesting to test some other tech combos, I think. Such as the High-Explosive Ammo without Burst Mode to see if that makes them into a good chaff-clear option. Also worth testing the unit mobile-beaconed with the cloak, to see if you can pull aggro. Or test Burst Mode vs non-burst mode against anti-missile techs.
It's tough for anti-missile to shoot their shots down because of how close + fast their shots are. Mustangs, for example, get smoked. HE Ammo does clear chaff well without Burst, but with it having such low range, in addition to HE Ammo being the most expensive in the game at 300 (next closest is 200), it seems like an expensive option to clear chaff with. I don't know if it's super expensive because it's a new unit and they're erring on the side of caution, or because its really good on the Phantom Ray. Will be interesting to see all of the use cases 😄
Wow, amazing burst damage potential with cloak that you could unleash on giants and towers. I foresee a lot more care being taken into anti air and missile usage to cover from them.
I actually included that part but had to cut it because I accidentally called it anti-air 🤣 AM Mustangs are horrible into it. The shots are just way too fast (and probably high hp).
17:21 I would have picked Incendiary Bomb and put it somewhat central onto the enemy side. Yes, it's probably a bad idea because of your crawler but in combination with so many oil bombs, I think it would have been funny.
It'll work like other Armor Enhancements--the Mustangs won't be able to deal damage unless they're leveled and/or teched into AA and possibly AP Bullets.
@@handlesrstupid123 I think they will be fine with air tech spec, plus the mustangs have AM which works against the Phantom Rays missiles too. I think the biggest threat to mustangs will be Wraiths in front of the Phantom Rays, to absorb mustang damage, but then you just add a melting point to get rid of the Wraith.
@@JaimeWarlock I wonder how air spec vs armor would work IDK what techs he had in video I didnt see them on the units, I was kind of thinking of them paired with wasps too. Maybe worm with these these.
You'll earn more tech points as you play games. It shouldn't take too long to receive a tech point to unlock some of its locked tech. I think it took me five games to unlock one. I'm not entirely sure on the exact amount earned, but it's not too bad.
@WhoopedGG I thought about horizontal ones and once leveled. The damage was to much for any unit besides war factory. But maybe as a player give level cap and vertical and its good against big no sense else wise.

Im worried about the current trend of releasing elusiveness into the game, lately we've seen a string of changes and units that are not coear as to how to counter, crawler spread tech, sandworm and this are examples.
I think the biggest issue with the Worm is the high level drop, and this is especially true when Nano is in the mix. Otherwise it's not that big of a deal--it still can be when two elites are recruited, but that is usually round 8+. Loose Formation has a couple big weaknesses. Outside of fire, because Vulcan absolutely wrecks Crawlers, when they click Loose, you can hit Replicate on yours and it's GGs. Mustangs, Typhoons, and even Fangs are good against Loose Formation as well. It's great to hear from you, Eoss!!
Dont forget to add those to your 1 unit challenge
Can't wait!! I might do it when it releases
Love that they keep adding units to the already strong variety 💪🏼
Same here. There are some that don't want new units added to the game, but I think it's cool.

pop them shields

Yeah, going to have to dot your i's and cross your t's with this unit on the board.
Seeing that dmg output that high makes me think HE and 2 close vertical units can go like straight up towords towers
Ohh that sounds scary ahaha. That is a bit concerning.
There must be a way keep the barrage going, make the back line fire while the front one Is reloading
I almost never put units vertical, but with barrage tech, I think that it will be the default for my Phantom Rays.
how does anti missile mustang do vs them? normally that'd be stupid but curious

Yeah, that would have been hilarious!
I think its gonna be cloak + burst and maby range, range decloaking downside might be lessened by the power of the burst.
I wanted to see armored ray against mustangs
It'll work like other Armor Enhancements--the Mustangs won't be able to deal damage unless they're leveled and/or teched into AA and possibly AP Bullets.
On another channel, I saw that with no techs. The Rays won, but just barely.
Huge meta change coming up
The biggest change will be to mustang play, they will have to hide from these things

Vulcan with volley and sticky bomb about to ruin so much chaff
The synergy this unit will have with the Vulcan, fire Storm Callers, Fire Badgers--is pretty wild.
im not receiving any tec points to unlock the tec for the phantom ray. I was hoping your video explained how to unlock the tec for that unit..

Would be a big help against high levelled towers or barriers
