I would say for DasDank, try to play some aggro games yourself if you’re feeling up to it. It will give you some of that conceptual understanding of the weaknesses of flank plays. Great film study Whooped, and thanks DasDank for sharing your game with us!
Would you consider doing some Community Challenge videos? I think it would teach us and be fun. I'd appreciate it even if it's a one off or two off. Thanks! Love the videos and you are just a chill likable dude.
Great analysis, i make many of the same mistakes. I definitely overcommit to a flank push so it can't contribute to normal defense or under commit until it's too late to stop a flank. There's a fine line there somewhere i'm trying to find, i think your comment on flank defense positioning is the correct answer. I've started running into the fun new case where late rounds just become a scene from Dante's Inferno and all my chaff become meaningless. It's basically pushed me away from trying to learn aggro and sticking with standard play.
Great video! I've been climbing from about a thousand to 1,500 recently and I'm trying to get that last 3 to 400 MMR to be a top player keep up the great work🎉
As always a great analysis! It comforts me that I would've done almost all the things you said. I guess I would've underestimated the flank and would've been always one round behind on that. Don't know if I would've missiled the flank regularly, but to close it out i would. As far as I know me I would've gotten too few units in later rounds due to insufficent funds because of teching way more then our player here did - which is obv not really needed in this case as we saw. That's still a weakness of me to decide to prioritize mass-unit, upgrade units or teching them. I feel like I'm lacking experience here to get a sense of how one of those preferences influence the upcoming game. But I'm working on it. And your videos surely do help me with it!
There are multiple ways to win, so teching might have been a decent option. As you play more games, I'm sure you'll find your preference. Just try to think of what unit(s) give you the best chance to win and invest supplies into them--which might mean levels and tech.
These coaching sessions are the best educational Mechabellum content. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks for the kind words, Felak

That is a good idea. I'll keep that in mind

haha yeah, oil can definitely be a problem for aggro players.

Nice job, man. 1500 is great. Once you hit the 1600s or 1700s, the games will start to become pretty difficult. But still doable for sure.
As always a great analysis!
