Here is a remake of the "Matinee Fight Scene" example of the Unreal Engine 4 game engine, where the main characters of Halo 5 face off.
We thank these 2 big companies (Epic Games and 343 INDUSTRIES) for providing us with powerful tools and creating great content; and especially the entire community that in one way or another made the creation of this video possible.

I can actually relate to this because my math teacher always says go to the restroom during break and so I did this one time and I find 11th graders being all crude and weird in there and I was just like... “Yeah ummm, NO!” And I was in the 7th grade at the time.

I believe it's their armor that puts them on par with a II. I'd imagine that's with their older gen armor so if you put a Spartan 2 in a Spartan 4's armor they would again be much stronger than a 4

@@noahcohen3722 he can beat Lockes ass. The Master Cheif and Noble 6 are the only 2 Spartans to be labeled "hyper lethal" locke is not that. The Master Chief is lucky and that is a reason Cortana chose him, but like Staten said, "Master Chief could lay you out if he wanted to."

Some people fail to remember that 117 is a Spartan II, they were much stronger and faster than Spartan IV's. Master Chief would easily dismantle Osiris.
But what would happen if all four of them grouped up on him instead of going down 1 by 1
Actually in Armor a Spartan IV can stand toe to toe with a Spartan II.

Thorne also was already injured and missing his helmet. Also thats not true at all. A IV in full armor can and will match a II.

Chief was holding back during the whole thing. He wasnt trying to kill. Only disable temporarily without doing lasting harm. And locke wasnt fighting to kill chief either. He was fighting in self defense and to get an opportunity to use the armor lock gadget. Neither was fighting at their full strength. There wasnt any reason to

@@Howardtheone if they are holding back why wouldnt they be going slower? Speed+strength=dmg lower one and the total dmg dealt goes down. Lower both and you have more control to disable instead of kill

The fight should have been too fast for us to follow because even if they didn't want to hurt each other they would have tried to outmanouver the other one and not go slow. Except from that, Locke pulled his magnum at the end.

Although Noble 6 is dead, I could see a scenario where he survived the battle of Reach, possibly became a Spartan-IV and was sent by ONI or the UNSC to hunt down Master Chief. That would be a pretty epic fight to watch. Sure, Chief would win for obvious reasons, but having two battle hardened Spartans of the same caliber, despite Chief being older and having more combat experience, pitted against eachother would be awesome

truth be told the reason why the first in 5 was so "bad" was because it was basically 2 guys who both didn't want to fight. Chief didn't want to fight Locke because he was A) in his way and causing him precious time and B) he is a fellow Spartan. and Locke didn't want to fight Chief because A)he greatly respects Chief and like so many others views him as a Hero and B) he was only following orders if anything he probably would have wanted to go with Chief to help.

Locke knows when to run away from a situation to fight another day. So he'd probably order a retreat.

Just assume you are seeing this through Chief's perception. Remember, SPARTANS perceive time much slower, that is why you can dodge a _Rocket_ in-game.

@@kjj26k honestly that never occurred to me while im playing it. You can watch plasma bolts travel across the screen in game but in cutscenes and the movies, weapons fire is almost instant. But it makes me view the whole thing in a different light. That's pretty cool!

Accurate, spartan II’s were given augmentations that killed most of the trainees, those augmentations included increased reaction time, increased muscle strength (which translates to speed as well) and stronger bones. Fred (a spartan in Blue team) once got crushed by an industrial mining car which probably weighed about as much as a tank and the only thing damaged was his armor so Locke failing to break chiefs leg is accurate, really good attention to detail on chief

@@nicolae-alexandruluca7853 true but unless of course it's some crazy feat of strength he pulls brings upon his self and not others. In the books at one point he ran for a distance of around 1 kilometer reaching a top speed 60+mph and tore his ACL clean of the bone and continued to fight. I'm not sure about broken bones but he is extremely durable. Installation 00 has a video theorizing that master chief and a select few spartan ll's got a couple different extra enhancements.
@@Spadishking The bones literally can't break, due to the power of the MJOLNIR armour, with breakable bones the suit would be impossible wear due to how strong it is. Spartan II's who were augmented successfully still died after wearing the armour due to the bones at the time not having any changes

For the record to those who don't know much lore beyond the games: The Spartan 2s, taken and trained as children, endured much more radical and invasive augmentations than the Spartan 4s and have been objectively had higher ability than the 4s from the get-go with the MJOLNIR systems further enhancing these abilities by allowing a 2 to go hand-to-hand against an elite on equal footing.
The Gen 2 MJOLNIR brings a Spartan 4 to this level. In Halo 5, Chief was equipped with the Gen 2 suit, an upgrade over his MK VI. Given the relative enhancements, he would overwhelm any spartan 4 as would any other 2 in the same armor. Minus the killing part, this video is rather accurate, he would overwhelm them, if they came one at a time like this and in halo 5 given respective ability and *experience* chief should have beaten locke much more easily than he did in the cutscene.
When Locke punched chief and cracked his helmet, I assumed that was going to be a “alright, the gloves are coming off” moment

@@Samantha517 no they aren't. It's pointed out time and again in the books whenever a spartan 2, namely John-117, had to fight close quarters with an elite, that they were fairly even in strength.
An armored 2, and armored elite, are on even footing strength-wise.

I'm with you man. I feel like Locke got that good hit on cheif cause he let him. He was AWOL yes but he was more concerned with Cortanas well being than orders. He didnt want to kill osiris (though with blue team they would've smashed em) he was just finding out how tf cortana was alive after he watched her die. I mean Locke even said to buck "your not the only here because of him", it was more of osiris following orders to get chief and chief was like not till I'm done

@@its392yugrajio Yes, but apparently a forerunner named the Librarian implanted the seed of the iso-didact in him. As for ancient human descendant part, Spartan IIs are very close to what ancient humans were like, and can perfectly sync with the HELLCAT armour made using lost ancient human technology, whereas Spartan IVs need assistance when using it.

I would still prefer this fight scene over the actual one in Halo 5. This one just makes sense. Plus even though Chief doesn't like killing humans, if the Covenant never arrived he would have had to kill rebels, who were Humans. People tend to fail to recognise that, The Master Chief is actually the UNSC's greatest weapon/soldier.

Buck Is awesome. I wish they made him a spartan leader. His old lines as a leader reminded me a bit of of Sargent Johnson, badass mixed with sarcasm. His halo 5 stuff wasn't very good and he had to be saved several times.
I'm aware of bucks old crew in the books and all, but id almost prefer if they left them as odst's and put them in the game as side missions or if they made an ODST 2.
Yeah but they all had gen 2 armor and the specs on it have some type of fiber muscles that limit the strength and speed of the S-IIs.the older suits had something else and didn’t inhibit the Spartans abilities but the 2s and 3s were built like shit brick houses compared to the 4s

Also I have Hink Vale is the only survivor. I didn't see her get stabbed by anything. Even then, they're all Spartan IV's. They'll recover. Not quickly, but to them, these wounds aren't serious.

This is a much more accurate depiction of what a Spartan II would have been like against an IV based on what lore states.
I understand Spartan IVs are the new generation but what 343 failed to display is: The Master Chief is solider that was not only practically raised for the majority of his life by the military but has years upon years of combat experience under his belt. He would be able to counteract any new tactics the team members brought forth because that’s how he was trained. Learn, adapt, survive. Given the augmentations, the time it takes to execute such an instinct takes almost no time at all. Locke may of been able to put up a little fight but in the end. He would have never been able to hit the Chief as many times as he had.
This comes a hell of a lot closer to how that would have all gone down. Thanks for taking the time to create such a great video.
true master chief is hard core to the point other spartan 2 couldent even match he was the fastest strongest but he did it all alone that was his weakness but he knows how to win agasint the odds he does it all the time
@@ryhanlangford7079 Also keep in mind that he had something no other spartan had, according to Cortana... Luck. That is why she picked him. He lucked out in so many scenarios while training that she could see he was truly different and not by his own doing. It's talked about at the beginning of H3 and reiterated in Reach.

Augmentations don’t “wear off”. They’re done on a genetic level which is partially why they inflicted as much damage as they did to those that died from them.

THIS IS WHAT I WOULD EXPECT MASTER CHIEF A HYPER LETHAL SPARTAN 2 TO FIGHT LIKE NOT THE BS IN GUARDIANS.
Couple details many ignore about Chief when thinking about this fight.
1 - A Spartan II on equal footing to a Spartan IV in armor is WAY stronger. Many point out the Gen II armor makes IVs as strong as Gen I Spartan IIs. However that boost is now applied to Chief, making him much stronger. On top of that, Master chief is by far the physically strongest Spartan II, as shown many times.
2 - Spartan IVs were taught martial arts in a few varieties when trained, but they were trained mainly for the Covenant so tactical knowledge was the priority. Spartan IIs were specifically trained to kill other humans. Martial arts mastery was essential to them, and they are much better trained and more experienced.
3 - chief is a tactical Master himself with a massive benefit being the Spartan IIs nicknamed "Spartan Time". Their boosted reaction speed can allow a Spartan II to slow time from their perspective when focusing, giving him more time to out think his enemy.
Chief would realistically barely struggle against them by Halo 5. If they fought CE era chief, maybe they would have him beat, it's possible. But a Halo 5 level chief is way too experienced, Advanced, and skilled.

I think this IS what would happen. Anyone who read the books and knows the story of how the first Spartans were created will know that the later generations of Spartans were inferior in every way except for the Mjolnr armor. Their armor advanced while their individual competence decreased.

Absolutely better, choreographically this video is far better than anything seen in all of Halo 5. Anyone who says otherwise clearly knows absolutely nothing about how bad it really is. A martial artist saw the fight in the actual game and concluded that it looked like the people who choreographed it lacked the skill to do it correctly and also thought it was the worst scene in video game history. Oh, but what does he know? He has only been a martial artist for 11+ years.

The fight happened in "Spartan time". It looked slow to us because we were seeing it through the eyes of the Spartans. Also, to be fair, H5 was originally going to be super different. Microsoft decided they wanted cortana in the game when 343 was well in to the story writing, they then rewrote the story, and made the game. They didn't even get an extended deadline.
To anyone who thinks that all these Spartans are dead. Spartan armor does have life support capabilities. Buck gets shanked twice and Tanaka likewise. Vale doesn't even get stabbed. She could come to after a moment and then attempt to revive her downed squadmates.

They're following orders. This fight wouldn't have happened, because 2-3 of Osiris would not have actually tried to fight chief. Only their fireteam leader was brain dead enough to try. A true "orders are orders", "it's just another target" pawn. Buck and Vale, at least, deserved better.

I’m only saying this not because I don’t like what they did but their team is just so bland. I mean even Buck didn’t have the likeable personality he did in ODST. Locke was just boring and the character development was non existent. Then tanaka. Jesus Christ. I know this isn’t in halo 5 but in halo 4 I just hate the way how she’s introduced and how rude she is to chief. It’s not that I don’t like what these characters did I just don’t like the characters themselves. I mean vale was ok but still.

Technically all the "wounds" everyone got were MOSTLY non lethal with Locke's being the most dangerous. Buck got stabbed in the gut with what's her face who had her coccyx nearly shattered. Vale probably got concussed. That's a Spartan 2 more or less pulling punches.

halo 6 confirmed master chief goes rogue for the 2nd time and actually does something this time that is rogue worthy and he battles to reach and gain the mantle of responsibility where he can once and for all defeat the didact who had be resurrected through the rogue personality of cortana which only happened because they when into the domain together at the same time but thats not all, the didact has also teamed up with mendicant bias who has successfully created a new hybrid of flood that are now nuclear powered, thats were the master chief steps in and take his helmet off and says "Get off my galaxy" then completely annihilates them both, but the master chief was injured and slowly falls over, cortana pops up with her physical form and says "chief, don't do this, you are our hero.... you are my hero..." and with the last breath the master chief had he says "and now i'll die as a legend" then has another breath and says" also I remember my whole name, its John Halsey.." and he takes another breath and says "Also I like it better when you hair was short and you were purple" and takes another breath cause even death can't stop him and he says "delete my porn history" and then he finally dies, with cortana crying she says "I AM you're porn history..."
