Nichiren Shu is not an organic sect of Buddhism; it is a creation of the Japanese Government.

      I couldn't agree with you more. But also be willing to see what he taught in the last 8 years of his life that he said he wanted to teach everyone for the 40 or more years he was teaching the lessor vehicle sutras, which teaches us the vow he made from the beginning of his teaching, "To make all people equal to me with no distinctions." He never taught his teaching to be put on a pedestal and then be worshiped like an idol. That is idolatry and has nothing to do with his main reason for his teaching, as he said to let everyone know that they are all Eternally Endowed Thus Come Ones who have full access to the eternally endowed super natural powers of the thus come one.

    So Ikedausm and his world domination is more organic ?

    • @RFKjrForPres
      @RFKjrForPres  7 лет назад +6

      There is no Ikedausm; not only is it a misspelling but even if you spelled ism right; it doesn't exist. All that exists in the ever growing, ever victorious SGI is the vow that Shakyamuni/Siddhartha/Gautama made in the Lotus Sutra: "In the beginning I made a great vow to make all people equal to me with no distinction." So if you are talking about Nichiren, Shakyamuni, Ikeda or you and me, there is no distinctions. You can only dislike another person if you dislike yourself. So everything you hate about Daisaku Ikeda and his millions (and growing) successors around the world is what you hate about yourself. Because, "I am he, as you are he, as you are me and we are all together." - John Lennon. That is what the oneness of mentor and successor means: Shi-te-funi. I don't have any judgments against Nichiren Shu and I love them as much as I love the Office of Home Land Security. It's just another government sponsored program that doesn't work.

    • @RFKjrForPres
      @RFKjrForPres  8 лет назад +1

      Wow, I'm bad with names. I would have to go to all the 6 or 7 Sendai City libraries I used to borrow books from and the Southern Illinois University in Nakajou (Niigata) Library where one I can remember the title was the Marathon Monks of Mt Hiei and another book was Hiro Hito, where a lot of Criticism of Nichiren Shu got me to contact the author and to find and read many of the books in his reference section. But I totally disagree with his thesis that Nichiren Buddhism is a nationalist and militaristic teaching. This was only a twisting of Nichiren's teaching that was caused by people joining Nichiren Shu which was a government created institution to twist and subvert the teaching of Nichiren the same way the Councils of Nicaea in Rome subverted all the teachings of Jesus with the creation of their so called "Bible," which conveniently expunged most of the best teachings of Christ, like the teaching of reincarnation (which were taken out at the 3rd council of Nicaea). But so many more book i read over the years, I don't remember the names. And then all the books I've checked out from all the libraries in Niigata (about 5 or 6 library). I don't even remember the names of most people I meet. I think because I've known them in too many lives and they keep changing their names. But if you send a few names of book to me I might be able to say oh yeah that was one I read from so and so library. I chew through books so fast, but luckily I've only had to replace 3 book from libraries in Japan that I lost or someone stole from me. I might be holding volume 5 of the Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra as it is on my shelf next to the Secret History of the Fuji School and the Orally Transmitted Teachings. So many of the books or university essays on Japan and on Buddhism that I got in PDF form from online libraries, are also on the 4 kindles that the screens cracked and I can't get access to my newest kindle because I don't have a wireless connection in Japan to register my kindle to get access to the book I purchased on my old broken kindles. When I wrote my first novel, I had used so much information from many books I read in the 80s and 90s that I published it under a different name than I was using at the time legally, because I didn't have the time to go back and check all the books to see if the ideas that I was having really came from all the books I read or I was channeling it or it was just wild delusional fantasies. But then in the 4 years at Soka University I was able to study all the subject I covered in my novel and I was able to see the crazy things I wrote about were more true that I was willing to be, know, perceive and receive at the time of the first publication of them and why I chose the novel format, so people could later say I was just make shit up which I was really sure any more.

      @RFKjrForPres  8 лет назад +1

      Yes the Orally Transmitted Teachings (OTT) is great, but it really should be titled Nikko Notes from Nichiren's Lectures at Mt Minobu. Because that's what they are. But if you read them along with many other writings of Nichiren and along with the Lotus Sutra and along with the 5 volumes of the Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra it's all you really need to know about Japanese buddhism. Because most of Japanese buddhism outside of Nichirens's work and Dengyo's work is like Mental Masterbastion, especially the one hand clapping Zen, which shouldn't even be called Buddhism. It should simple be call mental gymnastics for monks who have way too much time on their hands.

      I practice the form of Buddhism that Siddhartha/Gautama/Shakyamuni said was the final teaching and the only teaching to be practiced in the later day of the law, the 3 fold-lotus sutra. The pushing of war with Asia by the Nichiren Shu is and was well documented. This is just one of many sources you can easily find. alt.religion.buddhism.theravada.narkive.com/FM3rmELt/nichiren-shu-and-the-asian-holocaust-part-1-of-2 In the book Hiro Hito Nichiren Buddhism is described as a nationalistic religion, but Nichiren was the antithesis of a nationalist, he often made fun of the island mentality of the Japanese, but it was the Nichiren shu that distorted Nichiren's teachings to make them seem nationalistic. So I wrote this letter to the author of Hiro Hito: facebook.com/notes/tim-janakos/while-i-was-waiting-an-hour-for-the-peruvian-restaurant-to-open-in-ueda-japan/10150344453684383/

    Great job ranting at the only reasonable Nichiren sect. From what I see, Shoshu places Nichiren above Gautama Buddha, while SGI preaches prosperity gospel and new age 'law of attraction' bs, which goes against the Lotus Sutra itself (see Chapter 4) Plus that Ikeda isnt even a monk lol.
    Still, Nichirenism as a whole is an extremist doctrine. Most of Japanese Buddhism is like this. Zen withs its Zazen-only approach. Jodo with its Nembutsu-only approach. No reason why a person shouldn't Zazen one day, Nembutsu another day and listen to the Lotus Sutra the following day.

      It's a Nichiren Shu University. Since it was established in 1580 it is safe to say that it wasn't too much earlier than that that Nichiren Shu was also founded and the government probably gave them the money (just total speculation on this one or perhaps past life memory on this one) to start to school as an incentive to get more competing Nichiren sects to join the government created federation called Nichren Shu. Nichiren Shu was created by the Japanese government to try to pull all the competing Nichiren schools of Buddhism into one government controlled entity that would help the create "national unity" and to end the warring states period of Japan, and consolidate the control under the Emperor of Japan that was trying to regain all the power and control that was lost to the consecutive Shogun military coup leaders, ever since 1221 when one Emperor was beheaded and the other two retired emperors were exiled to Sado Island and to the Island of Oki, respectively (Which is the reason Nichiren believes he was born the next year). The exact year and which emperor it happened under is lost in my memory, after reading too many books that many contradict each others, but maybe regression therapy would bring it out of my deep subconscious mind. If some publishing company wants to contract with me to write a thorough book on it and pay me a good amount of money for the work, I will go back and research and foot note all the books I read and would need to reference. But since RUclips only pays me about 100 dollars a month for my videos as of now, until I get more views, I'm not in the place to go back and rehash my own past in Japan which in many ways I would like to put completely behind me and get off these "god forsaken islands." The last quote I know is from Nichiren but don't know which of his 4,000 or more pages of writings it is from.

      I felt the same way about Osaka. I went one time and the only thing I liked there was a mexican restaurant and that is it. I got so lost in Osaka because almost nothing is in English even the elevators I don't know what buttons to push for up or down. They had a "GuRouNDo for Ground and then another two buttons with Kanji that I couldn't read. So I would just push them all. And no one could give me directions anywhere. The second time I want to Osaka with my wife and daughter to take them to Osaka Universal Studios and I was so glad we flew and when we landed at the airporrt a bus took us straight to Universal studios where we stayed for two days in a hotel right outside the gates so we never had to see the rat race of Osaka. and the Tokyo rat race drives me so bat shit crazy that I'm looking for a way out of the city. But Kyoto, I loved. I went there 3 times and I took both of my wives (1st and current Japanese wife) and next I want to try Nara, because my friend just moved there and says it's ever more slower pace than Kyoto but just as nice.

    Are there real differences between the objectives of Nichiren Shu and SGI? I would say there are no real differences between the objectives of Nichiren Shu and SGI. They both believe in the One Vehicle of all buddhism, which is the full integration of the individual sentient being. That is to say that Buddhists believe each person has a Buddha Nature within (you may dub it Holy Spirit if you like) and that each sentient being has unlimited potentiality. All buddhists believe this fundamental fact of life regarding Buddha Nature or Holy Spirit . Various Buddhist sects prescribe various methodologies to bring about actualization or realization of this inner spirit of beings and all life, but fundamentally they believe in one vehicle and sanctity of life. In this short video Major Tim errs when he conflates Nichiren Shu and the Japanese government as one. Nichiren Shu and SGI are one in their objective and belief in the one vehicle, but they differ in what methodology to use to achieve the objective. So there are no real differences between sects of Buddhism. I will go so far as to say between religions period.

    • @RFKjrForPres
      @RFKjrForPres  7 лет назад +2

      Thank you for your interesting points of view. Objectives and methodologies don't make for a correct philosophy. When the Lotus Sutra has Shakyamuni (Siddhartha/Gautama) say "In the beginning I made a great vow to make all people equal to me with no distinctions." And the Nichiren Shu, Nichiren Shoshu, and all other priesthoods in Japan make rankist distinction between laity and priesthood, and claim that practitioners can only reach enlightenment thought the auspices of men in robes, they are practicing a religion that has nothing to do with Buddhism or Buddhist egalitarianism. Rankism and egalitarianism never work together. Nichiren Shu is practicing a form of Catholicism and calling it Buddhism. You can dress a wolf in sheep's clothing all you want and it will still be a wolf. They are using a methodology that always fails. There is nothing in any of Nichiren's 4,000 or more pages of writings that puts priests above lay people, but Nichiren Shu, Nichiren Shoshu and all the other priesthoods in the world do.

    • @36cmbr
      @36cmbr 7 лет назад +2

      There is only one vehicle but many roads upon which to travel. Correct philosophy is to gain enlightenment by any means necessary. Helping others toward enlightenment only helps the bodhisattvas of the earth to stay focused on the ever present job of gaining enlightenment. Don't forget it was Mr. Gautama that made the vow and some of us have made a separate 2nd vow of helping him achieve the goal of equality. Think about it, all those who choose to believe in the parable of the treasure tower have that equality in us already. So our job is only a matter of being helpful in bringing out Buddha Nature. The guy wearing robs and taking it all very seriously is expressing a personal piety which all too often crosses over into personal aggrandizement but not always. The false prophet or corrupted teaching cannot be found in correct Nichiren buddhist practice. Chant NamMyoRengeKyo with faith and observe self is correct practice. That's all she wrote. There is no such thing as rebirth or reincarnation and all of the so called philosophy of buddhism is idol speculations. Meditate [chant the mantra] to evoke your highest nature or at least to rest your spirit and be calmly. Ub a'ight. If you want the extra piety go to any of the 'other' sects. If you just want to embrace the best possible 'you' then check in with SGI. Either/or will get you to where you want to go and in the style you want. Peace.

      @@RFKjrForPres Im a Nichiren Shu practitioner from the US and there isn't much of a distinction between the preists and laity. In fact its mostly laity that are in charge of running all the administrative goings on of the temple, i.e. organizing functions, fund raisers, talks and conferences, retreats, documenting donations, making sure the temple is financially sound and the lights and heat keep running etc... the priests are mostly there to give teachings and officiate certain rituals (which many of the laity also know how to perform) and we are urged to actively study and practice. Yes, very similar and it became in the antithesis of what Jesus taught AMOR, and they turned it backwards, and it became ROMA, the seat of death and pillaging and the history ever since has been "Genocide in the name of Jesus ." He would be rolling in his grave if didn't have that fairy tale, descent to heaven, like so many other heros did, like the Apotheosis of Julius Caesar did about 100 years before him. And then the did the same thing for George Washington the slave holding, hemp growing, military general dictator turned politician "I never lie (BS)" who could kill thousands of indians in a single bound. So they tried the same thing before the war against Russian and it worked, so thought they could do the same thing with the US in WW2, just didn't know the sleeping lion would wake up. They turned all of Nichiren's Teaching on their heads like Jesus. History doesn't always perfectly repeat itself, but often it Rhymes.

      Theravada was created by the 5,000 monks who walked out on the Buddha aka School of the elders AKA innchanticka before the ceremony in the air in the lotus sutra. This historical Buddha refers to it as his counterfeit law not to be practiced during the latter Day of the law. But if you have a time machine please go back to the first 500 years after the buddha dies he says that's the only time his lesser vehicle teachings will be practiced in accordance with reality
