  • Lissette Perez-Carrillo and David Spirt talk about the different types of cigar cutters and which cutters are best for different cigar sizes. The different types of cutters in this video include straight cut, V cut and Cigar punch. Which is the best? Great tips on cigar cutters and tips on how to cut the cigars. Cigar sizes differ and some cutters are better for several reasons including the cut.

    I prefer the v-cut or the punch cutter because it gives you not only a smoother draw from the cigar when leisurely with a good whiskey on the rocks but a more enjoyable cigar smoking whereas you have no leaves debris onto the mouth where the classic straight cutters does. That’s just my opinion but good smoking my BOTL SOTL and cheers!! May the best person win the humidor and light em up like a Boss!!

    • @EPCarrilloCigars
      @EPCarrilloCigars  4 года назад

      For the first one with no question yes a V-cut or punch cut give off less tobacco debris than a traditional straight cut. A solution to that is tap the cut costs far head down against a clean ashtray to tap out the debris. Of course a V-Cut or Punch are not free of debris they just give off less.

    I’ve always used a knife, in fact I have a knife only for cutting my cigars with I keep it very sharp always. There is an art to using a knife to cut a cigar it’s not a fast thing and I like that I take my time and do it right its a skill, it’s part of the joy of smoking a cigar as will as using cedar spills to light my cigars it’s all an enjoyable experience/process that takes time and to enjoy the cigar that 200 hands have worked to make for my enjoyment.

    Great info! Wondering the best way to cut a torpedo shaped cigar. Any videos on that?

    • @EPCarrilloCigars
      @EPCarrilloCigars  4 года назад

      A torpedo needs to be examined a bit more carefully than a regular vitola. Look at your Torpedo and find the midpoint between the tip or very pointed end at the head of the cigar and the part where the slope of the Torpedo joins the body of the rest of the cigar. Once you find these then figure out the midpoint between them. The midpoint is where you will cut to be safe and not damage the cigar by cutting to deep. I would personally use a straight cut but I’ve seen it done with a v cut.
