Excellent video! Mercedes Benz of Littleton, CO wanted to charge me over $500 to replace the spark plugs!
The dealer gotta eat too
@@mikeicee 😂
Right!!
It is as easy as he shows in the video. Thanks for posting this!
Great video. Saved over $200 by changing plugs myself. Many thanks
Thanks for your video. It let me know. I definitely need to take it and let a professional do it.
Hello and thanks for the effort to make this video. I too have been concerned about the indexing as Mercedes says that it is required to have the electrode in an open position facing the injection port. My engine is the x254 turbo 2.0. thanks in advance for all your efforts.
Thank you for the video! Saved me money!
Very well done and helpful. Thanks!
Thank you Mike👍👍
Youre welcome brother! Happy Sunday
I have a 2020 GLC 300….. is the tool size, the spark plugs , and the everything you did in your 2019 the same? I want to use this video to change my own
Torque spec - 23 n/m = 17 ft/lbs.
Hi, do u have a video on how to clean glc300 maf sensor?
Thank you for your help!!
Thanks for uploading your informative videos , they help me even though I have an MB c207. I'll probably have to buy a new torque wrench, a digital one, next time I change the spark plug. I do not really trust the one I have anymore, would be damn if I pull the spark plugs too hard, then with the risk that the threads will come with the spark plugs next time, do not even dare to think about what cost and work it could be if it happened. Thanks again broh.
Thanks for the feedback. This one is something called a "digital torque adapter." You basically use it between the socket and your favorite 1/2 wrench or breaker bar. It is a lot nicer than a classic torque wrench IMO. It does between 2 and 200 NM so you can do lug nuts to the smallest bolts in one unit. C207 is a beautiful car.
Should we do indexing?
great info
Before i commit to changing mine myself, is the glc43 amg version about the same?
hi do know where the location of mass airflow sensor?
Thanks
I always do one at a time I seen a male friend go through loosening all all of them 🙄 then he was helping me change out camshaft sensor and I told him I always put a rag or towel in the engine bay under where I might drop a screw well my friend I don’t need that and what did he do got butter fingers and dropped the screw so I do my own work now🤣✌️ thanks for a informative video
You're welcome, yeah its super annoying to drop a screw in the engine bay... I just always hope it hits the ground.
@@mikeicee yes thank god it hit the ground 👍👍👍
Gracias
Good day Mr mike
Its almost Dr Mike lol
So what was the torque spec you used for the plugs? I thought you mentioned somewhere in the video but can't find it again.
23 NM
can you make a vedio how to change a front grill E300
How often this spark plug need to be replaced?
Every 50K miles
I was told by my Mercedes dealer that the Ignition coil required programming if it was replaced. I have a bad one. Have you ever replaced an ignition coil module and had to program it?
Are you talking about the coil that goes over the spark plug, I've never heard of a programed one. If its just an ignition coil you can buy one and replace it... my E350 is 10 years old and all 6 coils have done 280K miles... So I'd just replace the bad one.
No anti-seize on the plugs? Not needed or not recommended?
Not recommended because it messes with torque specs and the factory plugs are coated with nickel or some other anti seize coating. In my E350 which also uses no anti seize the plugs came out easy after 90K miles (70K service life).
@@mikeicee Thanks!
What is the best mileage to change the spark plugs ?
50k miles per glc service schedule within car manual. The job takes 1 hr with electric ratchet, 3/8 extensions, 14mm magnetic socket and 3/8 torque wrench.
Do you know if the spark plugs come pre gaped? If not where can I get the correct gap for them? Thanks in advance
Yes they do from the dealer. The owners manual has the gap info.
Do the spark plugs need to be indexed in a certain direction?
yes they do via torque. You'll notice the MB ones don't have crush washers.
Hi Mike. Just checking... can I reference this video when changing sparkplugs on my *2016* GLC300 Benz (RWD) ? Also do I have to use that electronic device to torque the sparkplug(s) ? (I noticed sparkplugs were not torqued in another video I watched) Thanks
You don't need a fancy one, but you should definitely torque them because they fire up to 5 times per combustion cycle and in past some engines have had problems if wrong plugs or not torqued. Yes 2016 should be fine.
At what mileage should you change the spark plugs?
Mercedes recommends replacing every 50,000 miles.
What is the mileage on your vehicle odometer when you change the spark plug?
About 50,000 miles.
@@mikeicee thanks
Where can I find my torque specs
I forgot to put them? 🤯
@@mikeiceeey Bud Did you say 23 Newton Meters (17 Foot-Pound) is the correct Torque Specs ???
Do the breaks
