@@robbiep475 They are all good musicians, John Frusciante is a phenomenal guitarist, Flea is an exceptional bass player. The weak link for me is Anthony and the god awful lyrics he seems to make up just to fit into a song.
Ah yes! I used to have this on vhs and someone stole it. Was bummed about it for a long time. I actually got to meet chad and the rest of the peppers when they stayed at the hotel I was a bellman at, and I told him he I was a drummer and had his video, he was super nice and asked me to walk with him out to his bus and we chatted about drums and music for a little bit. Really cool guy.
@@Ewang2727 Not Chad himself. His Pearl kits back in the day sounded amazing to me because he used larger toms and his snare wasn't cranked up nearly as high as he likes it today. Chad has always been an amazing drummer. He's one of my favorites. I wasn't complaining about him as a drummer or saying he isn't talented.
Some of that was the 90s sound engineers and the peak of analogue equipment but yea I totally agree, this is straight after bssm and he's at his peak here
I remember reading Anthony keidis' book when I was 13. He stated that when whoever (can't remember) suggested they get Chas smith to play drums for the band, it was because he would eat his drums for breakfast, haha. Chad is a groove monster!
Now we have 2021 and still it’s so inspiring for every Drummer or Bassist! This whole Session has a very special part when Flea has a conversation with River Phoenix
They played a little jam of the song even before Dave was even in the band, it's kind of a go to jam in e minor, they even played it in 2006 with John, he didn't even notice lol
all i see is chad alternating the snare and the cymbals but what i hear is: sssi ssss dum sss plash ttumm pahh sss pssi ba dumm dum and all in one or two seconds
@dwdrader your wrong this is the red hot rhythm dvd and it says featuring such hits as give it away , my lovely man etc etc and it was released in 1992 after blood sugar sex magik was released.
@dwdrader I'm not sure. Where do you know the date from? In : Chad Smith: Red-Hot Bloopers! you see a date: 05/12/9(1or2). Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out in 1991. So I would say, because Chad Smith: Red-Hot Bloopers! I think it wasn't a jam (anymore).
It’s weird. I absolutely do not care for any of the Chili Peppers music, and find most of it pretty generic garbage even if the whole catalogue is pretty diverse, but I completely adore Chad Smith. Amazing fuckin drummer, that just keeps inspiring. Great on the spot groove like jesus christ.
Chad smith does not get the credit he deserves. He is an absolute monster behind the kit.
He's appreciated. He's a Chili Pepper man.
thats no true. he is a monster and every drummer know it

Holy moly , Will Ferrell has many talents!
Humor
@@gerrett108 If you type in Chad Smith and Will Ferrell on here they actually have a drum off on a TV show 🤣
My lovely man - the most under rated rhcp song made
Matthew Williams IMO the best
Chad and flea are so inSync with each other
This song is amazing, its on my top 3 song list....and the solo is amazing
one of the best in BSSM
Or dosed

Brent Hoskins that’s amazing! Very lucky to have experienced that and been more than just a screaming fan at a show
That, my friend, is a cool ass story!
hard to believe this was released over 25 years ago now.
This is definitely one of the most fun rhythm section songs to jam on
YES! Absolute favourite song to drum to.
Groove gods right here, most people have no clue about.
that snare sounds awesome
of course, its a piccolo
As a youngster I bought this on VHS and watched it like a million times and played along on my drum kit. It was my drum lesson for many moons.
Back when Chads kit sounded insane. Especially his snare!!!
what does he sound like now

The hi-hat work though
Chad Smith is the hardest hittting dynamic drummer out there.
I always thought that about him and dave abbruzese...
Jimmy Chamberlain??
Chad Smith, Dave Abruzzezze and Danny Carey are my favorites.
Groove. That’s what Chad brings every time he is behind the drum kit. Dude has groove on his veins !
This lovely man is the most underrated chili pepper!
The best drums Chad's ever had!
Fact.
The sound of the snare!!! Lovely!!!

One of the best rythm sections in rock
It’s a long held tenet of music that bands will live and die by their rhythm section. And here’s a perfect example of how RHCP have had longevity
You are amazing !!!!!
An emulsion of
FIRE 🔥 & GOLD 🥇
1:05 wtf so fast sounds awesome
That drum set is badass
2:17 explains why Chad went bald.
I met him and he jokingly said this set was the reason 😂😂
1:58 that fill!
Chad's on fire
Almost 30 years ago… bloody hell!!!
4:33 HOLY FUCKIN SHITBALLS
this is the best song of BloodSugar - fight me! Gat DAMN that is a fucking tight, tasty groove...2 masters of their craft.
Solid musical backbone right there 🤘🏻

Why did his kit ever get smaller? Thats like the dopest wrap design I've ever seen
That jam after my lovely man 🥵🥵
Este Man es un fuera de serie. Un genio.
Best rhythm section in rock 🔥🔥
Chad, exceptional drummer.
i started singing lol. "my lovely man if i can!"
Chad ! You are my man , Best drummer in the world if u ask me .
His drumming deserves more attention.
the best rythm section in music today
Ridiculously funky tight
He's a good piano player too. Check him playing at the end of the Funky Monks doc
Hahaha awesome VHS this one GOOD GOOD feel in the beats!!
What the Groove!!!!!
Yeah, ride that ride!
Any stuff between Chad Smith and Alex Van Halen? Explosive!
all i see is chad alternating the snare and the cymbals
but what i hear is: sssi ssss dum sss plash ttumm pahh sss pssi ba dumm dum

@TheTwicey they're jamming the song... playing it but adding their own twists to it just like a live version

God bless the Red Hot Chilli Peppers
@TheTwicey well that's how most bands actually get ideas for songs... by jamming.
Needs more cowbell 😉
My lovely drums

Ripping through the Galaxy at full funk photon speed Captain Smith ahoy 💪
Didn’t know will farell could slam that hard
Is the song playing at credits a random jam, or a RHCP tune?
it’s called Fela’s Cock
a b-side on BSSM, or outtake
Which snare Chad used ? Picollo brass snare ?? Thanks
Will Ferrel plays very well the drums...
@iasian246 But My Lovely Man was already a song. In that way you could call all the 200+ songs of Red Hot Chili Peppers a jam. Jam 1 Jam 2 Jam 200?
0.56 / 0.59yeah
alguien sabe que modelo y platillos esta ocupando? cymbals? drum?
2:10
i want to know how to play the fill chad smith played at 3:17
It's triplet done super fast between the toms and bass drum.
@Tomas Aguilar you're right dude!
What about "Fela's" at the end? Is it a RHCP tune, or simply a jam? And is it a reference to Fela Kuti?
Song’s called Fela’s Cock.
Yes.

It was an outtake on BSSM.
