      These guys are amazing. If I was in the market for one I def would consider this unit. Perfectly showcased imo and I say that as someone that consumes a lot of RUclips/Streams. Please make sure they showcase other products of yours in the future. Also, consider the "two porch option". One side full enclosed (screen porch with room for table and 2 chairs) and awning with oversize ez-up bathroom (we have a nice on for tent camping) on the other side. I think once someone is in for $48K option charging them $1000 more for the compatible bathroom and screen on other side is an easy sell. Maybe call in Base-camp or something like that. In any case great unit.

    The history of Teardrops is interesting. I remember them as a creation of a veteran right after WW2. We could rent one from him and take it camping. It was great fun. This is a terrific development of that origin. I really like the tongue. The potential theft of my teardrop was always a concern of mine as I liked to pick spots that were secluded. Congratulations to the mfg.

    Great review. You always do an excellent job. I think this is a very appealing option for a lot of us, but $48K seems like an awful lot for a teardrop... That said, a nice option for those that want to find an option to buying a camper. To me this is more like tent camping which is appealing...more adventurous. What they really need to work on is really good tent/awning systems that don't allow bugs in. Maybe bathroom and awning on one side, porch on the other (with table). I love camping, but hate mosquitos. Anyway, hope you guys are doing well. Great to watch you guys living your dreams!

Did Escapod seem easy to work with and knew what they were talking about?

      Yes very easy to work with and they know exactly what’s going on with their campers. Nicely done. Really nice overlanding trailer. But.... a starting price of $33k for the Nomad and $43k for the Voyager. LOL By the time one finishes adding accessories that are necessary, u can add $10k to $15k to that price. It can't take me anywhere--I need something with an engine to do that. I can't stand up in it. I can't use the bathroom in it, etc.
    I recently bought a Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition. It has an awesome 256hp turbo engine that produces 320lbs of torque. AWD. Heating. Air conditioning. Beautifully appointed leather seating and other areas. An onboard computer system that automatically stops and drives my car. It has 4 wheels (not 2) with awesome suspension, wheels, and tires. The drive-train is incredible. And more... for $43k off the dealership's parking lot with taxes, title, fees, etc., included.
    The engineering and cost of the engine in my Mazda surpasses the cost of this entire teardrop trailer, alone. I'm not questioning whether this is a nicely engineered and built teardrop trailer. I'm questioning who in their right mind would spend this kind of money for something that's worth half the price? I wish I were young enough to have the time to engineer and build something of this quality for 1/2 the price. It can be done. And the individual that comes up with this formula will be a very rich person. If only I had Elon's phone #. lol

    I've been interested in the teardrops and have looked at several, one really well built one in my home state of Alabama. But two things have discouraged from retiring my Aliner for a teardrop. First is that the rear hatch does not really seem to be sufficient for protection against wind and rain. If some of these builders would figure out how to incorporate an awning int the trailer design to protect the kitchen area it would be more appealing. I'm not one that wants to buy something and immediately have to start making modifications. The second thing is price. While I'd be willing to spend more money, it's hard for me to justify downsizing from the Aliner, which has served me well behind my FJC, to something smaller. But otherwise, this looks like a good rig to consider.

    Completely optioned out it's around $52,000. Very nice camper and it fits a market need for light weight campers.

    I get it, but on the other hand $$$$ yikes. I can by 2 Hiker trailers or 3 Runaways for that price.

    what is the point of the aggressive tread on tires that are just pulled along other than looks? same w/ the unnecessary independent suspension

    • @Weretherussos
      @Weretherussos  9 месяцев назад +4

      The tires help with trailer braking on snow and dirt. Independent suspension again is for taking this thing off road and taking a lot of the strain off the trailer when it hits bumps. It’s also stronger than a standard trailer axle and there’s less to catch on a rock, etc
