🔒 Ledger ► shop.ledger.co... (affiliate)
📱 Argent Wallet ► argent.link/fi... (affiliate)
Wallets, in essence, allow for sending, receiving and storing cryptocurrency.
They come in many different shapes and forms, but the most popular options are:
-a browser extension
-a hardware wallet
-a mobile app
-or a web wallet
DeFi-friendly wallets facilitate managing your digital assets and interacting with DeFi applications such as decentralized exchanges or lending and borrowing protocols.

I used to have so many doubts in defi. This guys is a god in explaining stuff. I think it's THE MUST WATCH series he does if you want to get in nft and defi.
Thanks!!
Have you made notable profits using Defi?
Agreed. I've learned so much from this channel.
Beautifully demonstrated. Well done.
Metamask with Ledger Nano S.
I wouldn't put a lot of bitcoin in a hot wallet, just a small number
can you make a video about Blockfi, Nexo, etc.? If i’m saving my crypto i want them to earn interest while increasing in value. my question is, aren’t these platforms hot wallets too?
That's a good topic. What are the pros and cons?
those are custodial wallets, you don't control the keys blockfi and nexo do
@@WirelessKFC you dont control your private keys but Nexo does have an insurance policy, not sure about blockfi
These are CEfi, not Defi. I’ve used Celsius for over a year and never had a problem.
I think Gnosis Safe was missing in this List. It is a multisig wallet like Argent and has some DeFi apps integrated. At least in its web frontend.
As always fantastic video, useful for both newbies and oldies. I like Trezor as well hope to hear from you about Trezor in your future videos. Thanks again.
There should be a second key that can be used when the Wallet is inactive for X years. You can give this key to a lawyer with your will. So that when you die or you lose your wallet key you can recover it in a year.
Edit: You did great in choosing this 3 kinds of Wallet. I am familiar with Hardware wallet and Meta Mask. They are both user friendly and i think most people would not have a hard time should they follow your advice. What do you use?
Edit: I would like to add that you can divide your seed phrase into three part 16-words and be able to give it to 3 people. Any 2 combination will be able to create the full 24-word seed phrase. Just make sure the those 3 people does not know each other.
Thanks for the comment. I personally mostly use Metamask + Ledger, but it's useful to have a good mobile wallet too when you're not around your computer or if you want to pay with crypto :)
Yes, agree with your suggestions. When it comes to the first one you could also have a feature which refreshes the timelock if you're actively using the wallet, but in case you stop using it the second key would activate in a year or so.
Splitting your recovery phrase can be quite dangerous, you would have to make sure that other people are aware how important that piece of information is and make sure they store it in a secure way for years.
Vechain has a token on their block chain that solves this issue
please compare those with EXODUS wallet and latest alternatives
many thanks for the video. Which program do you use for making this video?
Thanks a lot. You are doing god's work. What's interesting is that you started doing this a year back when de-fi was not as popular as it is now. On an unrelated note, if you were to make this video today, would you choose the same 3 wallets? Or would there be changes?

Hello Finematics. Nash wallet is non-custodial and is better then all 3 you mentioned in the video. Is secure like a ledger but, a ledger can be damaged, is expensive, can be stolen. I am not providing links to the product, just to avoid resentment. Thank you. Good video, it can be better. 🤝
At Nash, all they do is non-custodial. You might appreciate it. Nash is the best in what they do.
Hi Yes DEFI and this channel are top heavy on Ethereum, but is ledger better than trezor? does atomic and other wallets deserve a mention?
I still have an old myetherwallet
Recovery phrases, for security of your defi wallet or controlling the Winter Soldier. Basically the same thing either way
Lead wallet will be the best in the world, only 60 days old and mainnet coming 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💎💎💎💎💎
You mention about Ledger Live integration with Compound (and this video is more than one year old) but it's not correct. At the moment you cannot install Compound on the Nano X at least, says 'Coming soon' ..
You totally missed out O3... as it's not only user friendly and does have most EVM's already integrated but also does have an aggregator imbedded which makes it perfect for cross-chain swaps. I think it would be great to do a refresh of this topic because some remained stagnant regarding NFT's for instance... Not sure if Argent does take fractionized NFT's but as always kudos...
Lemi smash that like button!

You mention DeFi and Wallets in this title. But you totally forget to mention how one can use Ledger together with Metamask. People with a lot of funds all use Ledger + Metamask is the most supported wallet = Ledger+Metamask is the go-to solution to safely use DeFi products.
metamask is invasive, just look at the permissions it requests. We need more fucking privacy than this. Also metamask doesnt even work on firefox anymore. Garbage.
just to clarify, you can interact with other dapps in argent using browser and walletconnect
yes true, but it's not as good user experience as having native integrations with different protocols in your mobile app

Dumb Question time: If I see a brand new project/token listed on Uniswap and I wish to buy it and store it just for future appreciation, does the Argent wallet do that for me? and to follow up, does the Argent wallet automatically support the holding and storage of any new token that is listed on Uniswap or only certain ones that meet a certain criteria?
I love your videos, the explanations are so clear and easy to follow! I would love to learn more about Exodus and Trezor and if there is a place where one can find a list of wallets with their benefits side by side it would be great too! After the Ledger customer list breach I find difficult to trust their ability to safe guard basic PII information.
Yeah, that was scary. Why do they even need to retain personal information like that?
Excelente!
Great video as usual! Question: Why i cant connect my Ledger to my mobile Metamask? Its synch to my Desktop Metamask, but doesnt show the ledger connection option.....Cheers
I haven't tried that yet to be honest as I only have a Ledger Nano S at the moment. Maybe someone else will be able to answer your question.
@@Finematics thx for your answer. I also have the nano s. I just cannot connect it to the metamask on my phone, although they are synchronized. Keep the great work coming. Cheers.
You should have mentioned in the cons of both Metamask and Argent that they are Ethereum-only wallet, which is going to become a huge limitation in the future.
Hard to say at this point. At the moment pretty much 95%+ of all DeFi is on Ethereum. If this changes, I'll create another video to discuss other DeFi-friendly wallets that support other chains.
@@Finematics I agree Ethereum has a huge momentum, with fantastic dApps. Ethereum was first and I still use it time to time. However, for new users in the place, wanting to test Defi with small capital, I would rather recommend using other solutions: Binance SC, Kava... Binance SC is compatible with Metamask (when set up properly) , but Trust Wallet offers a better experience...
But they're NOT ETH only. You can access many chains through metamask so no need for another video.
@@xrpuhodl Which ones except Eth-layer 2 solutions ans Binance Smart Chains?
Metamask also supports Binance Smart Chain
Is there a promo code??????????
I use Trust wallet and debank web for tracking defi portfolio
Can you use the mobile version of Trust Wallet connect to the AAVE dapp?
Why not Trust Wallet ?
It'd be probably included in Top 5, but it doesn't have multiple built-in DeFi features such as lending, dexes, token sets. That's why Argent was selected.
@@Finematics it can access uniswap, curve, aave, 0x staking, yearn , compound, kyberswap ... and many other DeFi platforms even on other blockchains like binance smart chain ; all built in it
This great! Good explanations. Many thanks!!
Thanks!
Did any else notice that the graphic for a “server” is an Xbox one? (3:15)
good spot! I need to get a better one to represent a server :)
I still don't understand why ledger is so popular, this tiny buttons and tiny screen yak...I prefer the wallet that it has nice big touch screen, airgapped (find the video how ledger easily tempered, by opening it up and close it back again). so my choice is Ellipal.
Can you do a video on BadgerDAO?
If we’re talking about 2021 app, I think you should later on consider checking out CashTech. They are coming up with a new DeFi app that basically can be your all in one app. It will let you manage all your digital assets from converting, lending, and they also added shopping in. I believe you can also stake with it and store from the app itself.
You somehow managed to do a video about wallets without mentioning the nash wallet xD
I checked out Nash and pretty much most of the other wallets. The wallet is cool, but in this video I wanted to go through wallets that support multiple different DeFi protocols and not a protocol-specific wallet :)
@@Finematics i hope you already know that nash supports wallet connect and it's an mpc wallet since a week now with a non custodial exchange trading non wrapped bitcoin, eth and neo cross chain with under 20 ms order placement using state channels build in and a fiat on / off ramp with 0 fees and nash link the merchant payements solution with also 0 fees. Can you be more specific on wat protocol-specific means please ?
@@bikos236590 Agree, these are all cool features and Nash maybe would even make it to top 5 together with TrustWallet.
Argent was chosen because it natively integrates with lending, token sets, dex swaps, adding liquidity etc., so it's clearly optimised towards DeFi. Yes, you can achieve the same through WalletConnect but it's not the same experience.
@@Finematics fair enough sir
@@Finematics clearly I know less than you about the topic. How is Argent on Compliance? Will it last? Thank you
Cant connect my ledger to meta, pretty fucked up. Connected but cant sign transaction. Read many instructions but still.
Great review! I’ll think about buying…
Did you see everyone talk about the PolkaCover insurance project? Seems like CVR gonna pump next year! And even more than x3… I’m in!
Trezor? I have my farm in there!
Your videos are fantastic. Thank you! We owe you money - have a Patreon or something?
Hah thanks! Here's our Patreon if you're interested: www.patreon.com/finematics
@@Finematics will send something soon! I’m sending to all my friends and followers! Great contents and presentation.
Trust wallet
Why not frontier?
How about defi chain? Any chance you do the video on this company.
Doesn't 2FA mean that your information has to be stored on a server?
Whats your opinion on trust wallet??
It's a good wallet as far as I know. It's not as DeFi-focused as Argent, but it has WalletConnect so you can interact with different DeFi apps.
@@Finematics Thanks
You missed the best wallet if you know how to use it correctly: Desktop wallets!! Electrum, Exodus, Atomic are examples of Desktop Wallets.
Yes, but we are taking about DeFi-friendly wallets here. If you’re already on your desktop and want to interact with, for example, Uniswap nothing compares with MetaMask or MetaMask+Ledger at the moment.
@@Finematics ow....It´s DeFi-friendly wallets! So that´s correct. Metamask is in my top list. I was looking at the video title title hahaha.
I like Trust wallet. Super easy to use. And can easily interact with different blockchains. While Metamask requires a lot of setting-up to use with Harmony One or BSC.
Could you make a review of Pancakeswap? I can’t find one on your channel and I would be interested in your opinion on it. It is growing a lot and has become the number 1 DeFi project on BSC.
Send me your rekowerii Phrase 😆
Eidoo is da best.
I use trezor with metamask. Much easier to use
What do you think of Unstoppable wallet? And is it enough to use a non-custodial wallet, because you own the keys and if the device gets hacked they still can’t access your crypto. Or is that only when you use a hardware wallet?
@@Anonymous-mq5dv you can link it to your hardware wallet I think.
@@LucasPucas69 So without linking it to that, a non-custodial wallet like metamask and unstoppable wallet is vulnerable if your device gets hacked, because the private keys are stored on the device itself right?
@@Anonymous-mq5dv unstoppable is just as vulnerable as metamask. Anything that isn’t a hardware wallet has higher risk with maybe the exception of a paper wallet.
Issues with Trezor?
briilliant
Celsius Network App wallet and the $CEL Token.
Celsius is not DeFi. Maybe when I make a video on TOP 3 CEFI Wallets :)
Congrats HEX! A gigantic success! ☕🎩👁️
UNICAP.Finance project is a productive and straightforward crypto trade exchanged asset with Defi environment (Defi Bank). The project is an improvement by FINEXPO and at present has an all-out estimation of $252,686 secured in the convention and focused on capitalization of 500 million dollars.
