Hey guys, big fan. Are you going to have a look on the movie "Escape from Tarkov -Raid"? It´s here on RUclips for free and I would really like to hear you guys opinion on that one.
Strong left Hollywood because he wanted to do movie projects which he found inspiring and was a manifestation of his own vision so he opted to do indie films since the late 2000s. Go watch his interview with Mike Glover at Black Rifle Coffee Company's channel.
As for his reload, if he trained with Tactical Response or Last Man Standing, they always taught us to rack the charging handle after inserting a fresh mag to ensure a round is chambered. TBH, I did the same thing when I was instructing folks on the use of the AK platform.
I played the Father of the little girl. I appreciate your opinions and as a writer (not this one) I appreciate the breakdown and analysis so I can improve.
Jay Moses: Thank You Yourself, Very Much, for Your Role in " Warhorse One" ,starring Johnny Strong ( " MCPO Richard Mirko") and Athena Durner ( " Zoe Elizabeth Watkins"), as the Father of Zoe ,and, a Christian American Pastor attempting to flee Terror - controlled Afghanistan.
You did a great job.
Just watched it last night!!!
Classy. Ever think about hiring Buck as a military advisor? He is really good at seeing through holes and has amazing attention to detail
Very much so.
The “I was on the team that killed Bin Ladin” is the new “This is Hitler’s Luger”.
That’s funny, but My Luger got the dirty eagle. I know what I got.
Fun fact: Johnny Strong played Randy Shughart in Black Hawk Down.
NEAT!
Only reason I watched this movie
Johnny Strong has been playing an operator since I was a kid. He played Randy Shughart in Blackhawk down.. which I mean, Randy kinda did in real life what he is doing in Warehorse. I was left with the impression Strong was heavly inspired by the events of Blackhawk Down and the role he plaid as Randy; an operator on a selfless one way mission in the service of others. The book he read about how to be a hero was probably Blackhawk Down. Just saying.. He is also John Whick levels of good with an M1A. Which he originally used in Blackhawk Down but has managed to use in all is other movies since. From what I know of Johnny Strong and the work he has done I think this was intended to be a love letter to all the Randy Shughart's, and Mike Murphy's.
strong is also an ex marine
Well said!
@@hailburngw2824I doubt it
I'm an electrician and at work we use a ton of zipties (also often called cablewraps) of different sizes. Me and a couple coworkers got into the ziptie breaking discussion and gave it a go. I think the ones we were using at that time were made by Panduit and were 175lbs tensile test but I don't remember 100%. They're pretty good size, probably about what they use in the movies or bigger. We took turns zip-tieing our wrists tight enough where you'd have no chance of wriggling out and gave the 'elbows - hip thrust' trick a go. Myself and another guy broke free and a younger smaller guy couldn't, even with multiple tries. Life or death scenario maybe he could have, who knows. You really have to commit that's for sure which is nerve-wracking because you can tell that if it doesn't break it's going to really really hurt. When it did break it really didn't hurt much. Again these are good quality zip ties but just meant for bundling wire and in no way are designed to restrain a human. I'm guessing if you used 2 of them of if they were even slightly stronger as in the ones made as handcuffs you'd have zero chance.
In short, if your kidnapper is a broke idiot I'd definitely give it a go but if it's some sort of military, LEO, or someone who planned ahead, I'm not sure I'd even bother trying. As an additional note the ones that say 175lbs test are pretty spot on, I weigh a bit under that with heavy clothes on and I zipped one around a beam and it held me up if I was careful but if I gave it a jolt of my body weight it broke free.
"You'll be dead" - "I can live with that!" Sounds like a John Mclane reply to me. 😂
Lol! The difference is, it would have been good if Bruce Willis delivered it.
he would have made it funny on purpose
@@FNGACADEMY Yup, I can almost hear him saying it.
The sad way the main character looks in this movie is the same way my dog looks when she doesnt get a treat.
lmfao
You should interview former Ranger sniper Nicholas Irving aka “The Reaper” on your next podcast episode. ;)
His stories about being a Moon Ranger are hilarious.
We need a Reaper special
Make sure you ask him about the .50 ripping people apart by just passing close to them
@@PoliticallyInsensitive you need to stop taking his jokes seriously
Yes, I agree 👍 love his books
I have a movie idea: the plot is a producer trying to get a war movie made and on set are multiple military technical advisors are just shitting on every scene.
I'd watch it.
that would be a funny short actually
"Gordy's gone man. I'll be outside"
It’s like they started off trying to make a sequel to Tropic Thunder!!! 😂
One of the moments that amused me, was that one of the terrorists had an M21 rifle, in a tactical kit, and the Navy SEAL who was covering the rescue group had his grandfather’s old M14, wrapped in rags.
This could have been a very good low budget film if they had paid more attention to the details.
Fantastic movie! Band of brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Generation Kill, Mosul and Warhorse One are my favs.
I never saw him change gloves, yet when he crawls out of the river he's wearing Nomex flight gloves, and throughout the rest of the movie he's wearing Woodland Camo gloves.
"Those are the pieces of my men in those pieces of that helicopter and I'm not leaving without them. I know CPR."
They were so focused on whether or not they could, they never thought to ask if they should...
During WW2 a Lancaster tail gunner bailed without a parachute from his plane. After falling 2000/3000m, he landed in a snowy forest in Germany and the trees and the snow saved his life !
soft powder can be a different story
@@FNGACADEMY there's a bunch of people who survived even without the snow. Craig Stapleton 2,438 meters, Dan Brodsky-Chenfield, Michael Holmes 4572m, Victor Bryie and Shaun Phillips, Elijah Arranz, Mackenzie Wethington, Christopher Swales, Joan Murray and one I even met personally, unfortunately was a tandem jump that killed the client and the instructor was out of hospital within a few days. It's insane, but it happens.
You guys should actually listen to the podcast between Johnny and Rob O’neill on The Operator podcast to understand how serious and dedicated Johnny was about making this movie. He trained hard and worked hard on the movie
So what? It's still crap!
now they can both say they killed Bin Laden
He should probably just work hard on other stuff.
Yeah, nobody who ever wrote, directed, produced, scored, edited and starred in a movie is criticizing this. 😉
Johnny Strong played Randy Shughart in Black Hawk Down. A few SEAL's were part of the cast.
I thought he looked familiar!! Very cool!
Gordy's gone, man.
I love both your real take on things. Totally different focuses.
Omg!!! 😂😂 I thank you for doing this reaction, this movie is pure aggravated comedy...
it was rough
Johnny Strong also play Randy Shugart in Black Hawk Down …
This was y'all's best video. I couldn't stop laughing
nice!!
You guys killed me with this one. Yall are having way too much fun. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Keep up the Great work. AIRBORNE All the Way
As always, another solid episode... Even if the movie didn't measure up to some previous films. Any time we get 30 or 40 minutes of you two hanging out on the couch, dissecting a film and just having a good time, is pretty much always time well spent.
couldn't agree more!
I enjoyed this movie for entertainment value not tactical. The little girl was outstanding.
90's action movies? You're generous. I was thinking 80's action movies. Remember some of the music from the first Terminator movie. I swear they used some of that in this movie. This was like lower budget than Conan The Barbarian.
Love the Forest Gump reference.
Excellent stuff... Again. 👍👍 Hopefully you get to do Echo 3 and pull the combat scenes apart. Keep up the good work
That's the plan!
Johnny should have stoped his SF movie career after Blackhawk Down which was definitely his apex !
Yes, his peak was 23 years ago.
Non military man here just a civilian but, I’m glad you said that about the guys that don’t talk about what unit they’ve served with. Also for us not to take that personal or (what have you).
What have you* just means yadayadayada or etc… (blah blah blah) which is to why I say that😅
It’s like tropic thunder but without the lead characters and we’ll written dialogue
I had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with Johnny about 9 years ago. I can tell you that he puts his heart and soul into everything he does. He is the most disciplined person I have ever known.
It's so entertaining watching you guys shit on bad movies and their tactics
watching you guys react to this one is hilarious
Thank you for your opinions guys.
Awesome movie! Going to watch again
If you actually want to see Johnny Strong in a really good role/movie, check out Sinners & Saints. He plays a homicide detective that’s a former Ranger and the shooting scenes are very well done for a low budget. Has several well known actors. He also has a band called “Operator” that he named in honor of the SOF community.
he was also one of the deltas with the m14 that died in Blackhawk Down.
@@hoosier_tactics somebody already commented on that so I didn’t want to piggyback on it.
I liked his movie 'Daylight's End. It also had good shooting
ill check it out
THANK YOU for the positive and useful comment!
Just tried to watch this movie on Prime and couldn’t for all the same reasons. I immediately did a search on your channel and was laughing that I’d commented on all the exact same points lol. Also, how does he not see the downed smoking helo until they tell him to look that way!? Soooo bad. So, so bad.
I love how they hate everything
Not sure if anyone else said it but this dude ironically played a D boy in black hawk down. Surprised Kurt didn't mention it but I'm not done watching this beers and breakdown yet which by the way are all classic and the best version of vets commenting on movies yet. Thanks for the pure comedy after a long day that isn't over yet.
Johnny strong, this wasn't your strongest role.
Have you guys done Behind Enemy Lines yet? When you were talking about not using actual names on comms reminded me of that scene where Gene Hackman screwed up when talking to Owen Wilson. After he'd jumped on OW earlier for using names on comms.
Your Opinion doesn't change mine, Loved it!
I felt physical pain even watching those few clips of that movie -- great stream though!
The eye-roll at 13:34 would have told me everything if you hadn't already said as much beforehand. Lol
Also, I'm glad you talked about the music, because it was actually more distracting than it was tone setting.
Reviewing trash movies is hands down the best GB react series
21:08 Yep, ripp off from Lone Survivor, at this point it has been 15mn I was think about that 😂
When y’all started laughing yall pretty much said…..this shit gonna be stupid lol 😆
I'm sorry I can't do it. I made it 6:20 and it's just to brutal
The hilarious part about the Delta secretness is that do people actually think that the Chinese military isnt on the phone of every single one of those guys? Super secret agent days are gone for the most part.
I would recommend Ultimate Force which is about the SAS and is amazing I would recommend any of the Episode 1 in Season 1,2, or 3 also Episode 2 of season if you watch 2x1 as it is a national inquiry because of a international incident with the French.& is one of my favourite shows. I think you should have a look at The Brave with Anne Hesche & Mike Vogel which is amazing more about the covert/secret missions. There is also the Valor which is about the 160th SOAR.
johney strong did a padcast with rob o neill call the operator Ep 51 😂😂prable base of the movie
32:06 How dare you guys! I killed UBL! LOL
A MAC V SOG guy survived a fall like that exactly, so it's not impossible. Tree branches can slow you down enough to survive.
nah no way
@@FNGACADEMY that specific story is mentioned in an interview with a couple of macv sog guys and he broke his back and a leg I think he wasn’t able to walk just crawl. So you are correct no way it was anything like the movie. And the real guy only fell 30-40 ft through dense jungle.
That was my body cam, falling thru the trees lbvs.😅
Kurt's comparison of the CPR scene to his lovelife made me spit water all over 😂
Oh, and please do Wanted next 🤣
Johnny Strong did a very low budget zombie movie called Daylight's End. Definitely not realistic but pretty entertaining for what it was. So take this Johnny Strong and put him in a movie that pretty much knows its cheesy and he is a way better actor and character.
Hey guys, as usual, my five oclock cocktail with break downs is one of my favorite escapes. Col Bud Day, MOH and AFC winner survived a parachute-less ejection out of an F104. He went down in a pine forest and just like the movie.... it slowed him down enough to survive. Hmmmmm could it happen. Plausible.
" ay im talking bout my balls!!"
Here is some movies I suggest you review The Odd Angry Shot (1979), The Dogs of War (1980), Southern Comfort (1981), and The Package (1989).
Bro this movie makes me think of the kung fu movies of the 70’s 28:56, “ find another way home pizza boy”
Anyone else glad they weren't the only ones who noticed the Vans 🤦🏾♂️🤣
I’d like to see you guys do some of the mission impossible movies.
can do
20:05 unsling the rifle and then jumping he'd a loss that damn rifle
johnny strong would maybe be a good person to play solid snake with a good director
Johnny Strong is a high quality actor. Can’t wait for his next project
Yeah, there were issues... But, for a low budget movie like this... I liked it... Better than the majority of Hollywood stuff.
As a whitewater river guide for 16 seasons.... I can confirm, he would not have survived... For multiple reasons., including the ones you stated.
Even though it was slightly before my time... I can also, unfortunately, confirm even a special forces guy can drown in a river. If you don't have adequate respect for that particular river, very bad things can happen.
(Shipwreck Rock, Upper Gauley, 1997... R.I.P. (Former Capt) Gabba
I thought this movie looked silly prior to seeing this review. Glad I'm on the side of veterans with experience
My favorite movie is lone survivor they get hurt amazing actors and A TRUE STORY can’t get any better then that
Lone survivor like you said also, 13 hours, and Blackhawk down are hands down my favorite militsry movies as well I do have others
@@Chris09978 black hawk down is an amazing movie as well
16:40 bro it’s Randy bruh. Magpul, power stroke vs. bolt release. 2003. Remember? That was awesome.
I know I’m late with this but… i been waiting for you guys to react to this movie,
Bro, that actor was so bad he makes steven seagal look cool.
This is the best roast of an awful film I've ever watched. Cheers guys.
cheers!
I honestly thought this was going to be a movie about a horse used in combat or something LMAO
I ALWAYS LIKE BEFORE WATCH ANY ANY OF YOUR EPISODE ❤
thank you!
Johnny Strong was in Blackhawk down too.
You guys need to check out The Beekeeper with Statham. One of the more serious silly movies I’ve seen lately. The last part is pretty funny in it’s depiction of the Presidency. Apart from the one group of depicted Seals and Rangers, the “expert” killers that show up are living cartoons. It’s awesome.
I guess his biggest failure is being johny hero, I passed on this one and didn't see it.
As many commenters have noted Strong was in Black Hawk Down 2001. Also in Black Hawk Down were William Fichtner and Kim Coates who are known as good friends. When Fichtner got a chance to write and direct a movie Cold Brook 2018, he of course put in Coates but he also cast Strong in a role. I take that as an indicator Strong is respected by his peers.
28:58 I’m in tears 😂
The gun that Johnny Strong is using in the movie is a Triarc Systems TSR-15S. To people who know ARs, that thing stands out like a sore thumb because at most, Triarc guns have only been used by LEOs stateside and never by special operators overseas.
Have to say. That's a killer mullet he's sporting. Also check out "Iron triangle"
yea it is lol
Hey I’ve just been wondering I know you discussed what you would do if you could re do enlisting but you mentioned that for guys you get than 21 that didn’t have the option to start as 18x. My question being if you were 21 with both available would you still pick option 40 11x to start or start as an 18x instead, Thanks.
Yall gotta have range day with either trex arms or demo ranch plz . I would watch the shit out of it . 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤
it's not like CSAR wouldn't be spinning up when the helo went down. silliness!
completely unbelievable in so many ways
22:46 @Kurt my man!! 😂😂😂
lmao
I laughed my ass of with this video. You guys are so funny and brutally honest. The humor and knowhow. It's a great combination and I love it. I'm a vet with ptsd and don't go out of the house much and I have a lot of issues I'm dealing with, but your videos are always a highlight for me that I look forwards every time and it brightens my day so to speak. So thank you, guys! Really! 💪💪 @@FNGACADEMY
These clowns doesnt realized all the stunts and dialogues are just for movie purposes.
i was hoping someone had already seen this because i haven't been able to
1:29 you guys should do the A1 warthog next time instead of the bombs 😂
Sean has a great Batman voice
Johnny Strong plays Randy Shughart in black hawk down!
He was thinking of his whole team, when he killed the guy. Also you suck, didn't know it was about YOU TWO eye roll . I Loved it can't wait for next one
thanks for your opinion guys everyone has one. Are you making a movie yet with all your life experience?
Will you do the Equalizer 2 and 3 ?
or killer elite ?
Jason Bourne will be awesome too
29:47 lmfao what in the fuck was that i just watched holy shit lmfao
Oh come on Johnny strong was in Black Hawk down, he’s a war movie expert 😂
Just remember guys, you need these bad movies as palate cleansers. Makes you appreaciate the good one even more...
thats a good way to look at it
Intro sounds like Nick Nolte from Tropic Thunder.
it does lmao
Dont care IF The FILM WAS accurate OR NOT THE HERO WAS gorgeous ❤
It looks like these guys in the movie weren’t aiming down sights at all
