I have an obsession with the Yacht Master, especially the 16628 on any MOP dial (sapphire, ruby, tahitian, etc.) I recently made my first Rolex purchase, a DJ41 MOP set with diamonds ref 126634. However, I will always be obsessed with the Yacht Master and I must get my hands on a 16628 one day. Just yesterday I tried a champagne dial inside a Chicago jewelry store and it was superb. The fact that you had the ruby dial as your grail, MUCH respect brother! The MOP is the ultimate dial for a brand that has made the Oyster famous. Bravo!! Sorry for all the exclamation points, I'm in heaven.
i hate gold watches and diamonds and all this bling stuff....BUT this one knowing the size and regarding the discretion of the rubis looks really nice, i would not wear it but i like it.
I have to say, that dial is worth every penny...I have the white dial with blue sapphire yellow gold and I love it, but that MOP with the jammy red rubies are on a different level and the price reflects it!!! Great video Eric!

I initially wanted the blue sapphire version but when I was offered this one from my main dealer many years ago I had to have it. Love the channel & especially the way "YOU" deliver your content. In general, I believe the YM as a line is gonna be the next big Rolex watch. People will get tired of the GMT/Sub and will be looking for something different and more upscale.
My local Rolex AD had a pre owned Yachtmaster with MOP dial, I cannot remember what colour the hour markers were, but it was extremely inexpensive. In the store, it just looked too flashy so didn't interest me at the time.
To be honest that is a beautiful watch. 36mm Rolex Daydate Tridor is such a sleeper watch . salmon dial with Roman numerals is the most real beauty. To get that bracelet with 3 different kind of gold is a work of art. A precious metals watch that they didn't make many. You like them ? Seen them ? Neal
Obviously there are two very, very different perspectives on changing dials (or bezels) on any piece with respect or resale value. Full disclosure: have I done it too? Hell yeah! But I’m in the camp that believes it will hurt resale value in general. That said... you did doginificsmtly upgrade the quality of the dial and I think that’s got to said as well. If you’re going to do it... commit financially to the price of a significant upgrade. Absolutely luv your channel and am looking forward to meeting you.

A steel yachtmaster is a classic watch, a gold one is very nice, but to me just says "I have money". This dial puts it in another league.
Agreed, the 40mm all 18k YM is the best deal out there still in a solid all gold. Just purchased a late model rehaut . I’m going to look for the MOP diamond and sapphire....at this point may be best to buy a TT yacht with the face and swap it out???
