Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I crack a joke or two. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

I fell asleep at the beach at 11 yrs old. Most of my body was protected by the umbrella... *most.* I burned the bottoms of my feet! I could not walk around anywhere! I stayed in the hotel the entire vacation. My dad felt so bad for me a month later he took me to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge for an entire weekend just so I could have a bit of vacation fun. Dad was awesome, I miss him. RIP dad, 2014.
Edit... "Ok, wow. I never expected this amount of love and respect for a short story and love for my wonderful father. The outpouring of love and kindred spirits on Charlotte's channel is indicative of her work. Everyone should have a "Charlotte" in their lives to bring together love, laughter and acceptance.
*"Best wishes to all of you."*

Someone I know went for a barefoot walk on the beach in Crete and got sunburn on his feet! In my late teens, early 20’s, in Spain, I metsome friends on my summer language course to go to the outdoor pool. Irealised I was waiting in the wrong place, so rushed to get there, tripped and fell, got an extra whack from my heavy backpack on the way down, then alternated sitting in the sun to cooling off in the cold pool. I woke up the next morning with really sore, bruised legs and a completely bright red back that was so sore and itchy! I now cover myself in Factor 50, sit in the shade and reapply regularly!

True story. My girlfriend was out in the ocean jumping through the waves when a giant wave knocked her down. She sprained her ankle and lost her sunglasses. After getting her to shore I walked back out about how far I figured she was, reached down, and picked up her glasses. 1 in a million chance. They were literally right where I reached down. The lottery ticket I bought didn't pay off though.

I am so glad for you. I had just bought my first pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses for vacation and wanted to look cool. The most expensive sunglasses I had bought up til then. Wore them in the ocean and hit by a wave and they flew off. Dove down and could see them just out of my grasp. Swam toward them and the waves pulled them out further. Came up for air and felt them bump my ankles. Went under again and and they were gone. Couldn't see them or feel them anywhere. Made a promise to myself that day: only cheap sunglasses in the ocean! But I am happy you found yours!

Those two girls were lucky that they didn't get washed away by the swell. I'm from Australia, and sadly that happens way too often, people can really underestimate how dangerous the ocean can be. (Especially if they're trying to get that *perfect* shot for social media.)

Lived on the Washington coast for years. Our beach was unsafe to swim on, and we had signs everywhere. Also had signs to stay off rocks and logs/trees. Tourists thought they were smarter than us every year and died because of it...the tide was really strong there.

For sure, lived near the Atlantic and it's calmness will lull you into believing it's safe. Found out otherwise when almost drowned from a rip current when around 10yrs old. That was back when children walked miles away with friends and no parents so it would have been my friend running back over a mile alone to get help. Also once fell asleep floating on my back lol, and went out way past the buoys, woke up terrified and luckily knew how to swim well and got back.

Stay away from rocks, fishing piers and DO NOT DIG HOLES ON THE BEACH! Just last year, an 18yr old guy and his 17yr old sister were hanging on the beach at the Jersey Shore. It was around 5pm, fam arrived that day. The guy dug a hole, and they cave in! He died, sister could do nothing. Happens more than you'd think.

Just a tip from a skincare enthusiast: those spray-on sunscreens are up to 2/3 propellant. You only get like 1/3 actual sunscreen, which is enough for generally 2-3 full-body applications.
Also, they're tested WITHOUT the propellant, so the SPF rating may not be accurate IRL. Plus, you're supposed to spray it on and then rub it in, anyway, so you might as well just buy sunscreen cream or whatever. This is true for ALL spray sunscreen and makeup products. They don't apply evenly (and/or aren't meant to be sprayed on the face, at all, because they're not eye safe). If you don't rub it in, you will have uneven coverage.
Also, it's generally recommended not to buy expensive sunscreens, because people have the tendency to ration it, when it's costly. You want something that you won't feel you "wasted," when you wear it "only" for your walk to and from your office, for example. Sunscreen needs to be worn every day, so you want something that you'll actually USE, every day.
For my medium to darker-skinned friends (and everyone else), Black Girl Sunscreen is highly-rated and affordable, and doesn't leave a white cast. 😉
As for drugstore, I know a lot of oily-skinned people like the Neutrogena Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen. It doesn't work for me, because I layer skincare due to dry skin, but a lot of oily-skinned gals who wear makeup swear by it.
If you're light to medium-dark skinned, the Australian Gold Tinted Sunscreen is absolutely gorgeous. It has just enough of a tint that when you apply the appropriate amount (a quarter-sized dollop for face, neck, and ears), it really looks like "your skin but better," but is also enough to actually protect your skin. It dries down to a natural satin finish, and feels like silk. There is no option for super fair-skinned peeps, though. It won't leave you looking orange, but it may look like you have a tanned face and super white body. 😑
Makeup + SPF is basically a scam, however. And generally not a good idea, especially if you already wear sunscreen. Some sunscreen ingredients will react really poorly with other ingredients, so it's never a good idea to mix multiple types of sunscreens. And, for makeup + SPF to be effective, you'd have to use the same amount as you would sunscreen. A quarter-sized dollop for your face, ears, and neck. That's too much makeup. So, just wear sunscreen, and don't worry about adding makeup + SPF products. 👍🏻

@@vilena5308 Same here. I tried using Supergoop and Ultra Violet sunscreens, but then I stopped wearing them on most days, which completely defeats the purpose. 😣
Sunscreen is objectively the MOST important skincare, by far! But you've actually gotta use it EVERY DAY. Even if you're only going to the office, even if you're spending much of the day inside, even in the winter!
What we refer to as "the signs of aging" are actually 80-90% due to sun damage. It is SO important!

Also, do the patch test 48 hours before use. I saw a woman who'd done the 24 hour patch test with no reaction. She used the dye the following day and had an awful reaction. Her MD informed her that she needs to do the patch test 2 days before use not 1, it's something about the body's reaction timing. Went sea kayaking in Thailand. On the boat back my friend and I were shocked how sunburnt a man’s back was. Later that night I woke up in immense pain, trembling and unable to walk. The reflection of the sun had bounced back on to my shins while kayaking and I’d kept splashing water on them to cool down. I hid from the sun for the remainder of the holiday and hid my legs as they looked hideous. They peeled about 4 times and when I finally saw a doctor when I got home, I was told I had 2nd degree burns. Yep - keep applying suncream constantly people, I’d even burnt my nerve endings.

Invasive Asian Carp that is in all of the Mississippi and heading north. They jump in the air if disturbed by a boat or mild electronic shock. Tons of videos on them. People drive their boats down the river with nets on them to catch them as they jump. Not tasty, but edible. So far halted by electronic fences to stop them from entering The Great Lakes, but if they do, Canada is next. Canadian Fish & Wildlife authorities are freaking out about this. They love cold water and head north. They eat everything in the rivers and tributaries. People go into food markets and buy non-native fish and release them into the wild and there are no natural predators for them so they flourish. The Hudson River is also inundated with non-native fish and are killing all of the local species. Also, Hurricane Katrina hit a fish hatchery and released hundreds of thousands of various fish into the Mississippi River.

That happened in Texas too, huge Asian carp in most lakes. They are very bony and don't have much usable meat on them. In Texas, they were released on purpose as a food fish by some numbskulls who didn't do their research!
In California they did something similar in the late 1800s, planted mustard weeds to grow for feeding cattle and it became invasive. They should have gotten the cows' opinion first, they hate the stuff! Even my goats will only eat mustard plants after their favorite native plants are eaten up. They love wild buckwheat and wild oats.

Protip from a former hairdresser: check the ingredients before you buy. If it has Paraphenylenediamine or PPD listed, don't buy it -- that's the ingredient that causes those allergic reactions. Most box dyes contain it, so if you can, hit up a Sally's. Prolonged use of PPD dyes can cause an allergic reaction even in someone who used them without incident for years.

It's so smooth you barely even feel it, you need less passes to get a smooth shave, I've rarely gotten any nics or bumps from it and the replacement heads last awhile with proper care. I've been using Quattro for over 2 decades and anytime I use another razor I can feel the difference. Such as the razor actually scraping along my skin, spots of hair being missed, bumps and nics. I've even dry shaved with the Quattro and it still did its job.

My niece got the crap stung out of her by jellyfish. They learned quick to listen to the folks who've lived there for thousands of years!

My parents took me and my brother to Italy when we were much younger, we played in the pool on day 1 and my parents were really tired and accidentally fell asleep. Us as "good kids" decided to let them sleep since they took us here and are so tired. No umbrellas btw. Just blazing noon sun. We took all stuff and went back to hotel cause we got hungry. They were unable to walk without pain or sleep under covers. No underwear either. Half of them burned completely and fever etc. Oopsie. It is a funny story now though.

So, true story - summer in the 80s. My family are visiting extend family in New Brunswick. We planned on spending the day with an Uncle out on his boat. Picnic, swimming, just an all round great day. A couple of hours in - the boat dies. A couple more hours, after sitting there, we realize we gotta get back. Nobody stopped by at this point. So my dad jumps over, grabs the bowline and just starts walking. Towing this boat behind him like Humphrey Bogart in The African Queen! My Uncle at the helm 'steering' and waving to other boaters🤦‍♀️Lol. People did ask then if we needed help and me dad quipped back "no thanks, I take my boat out every weekend for a walk". Man that was a great day! 😊 There's an article if anyone wants to search for it.

Patch testing doesnt always help. When I did a root touch-up using the same product I'd been using for at least 10 years, I had the same reaction as "Quasimodo Girl." My brother had to drive me to the dr to get a steroid shot and taper script cuz my eyes were swollen shut and had a rash all over my body which sent me to the ER then finally to a dermatologist. I was miserable for about 3 to 4 weeks.

Also i’m from washington state and lost a very beautiful friend when she was 13 to a boating accident where the other driver was drunk. People don’t understand that driving anything with an engine is dangerous under the influence.

Hey Charlotte, at the times around 4:20, the jumping fish are and asian carp that got released in the mississippi a number of years back. They are a very invasive species as the eat most all food sources needed for most other fish because the multiply way too fast with no natural preditors. They also jump out of the water when something too loud or fast goes through the water too close to them. There are several videos of them hitting people and have actually severly hurt quite a few.

The above ground pool pop I’ve done. If you have the grass/land to water… it’s so much faster and with that being a plastic liner and how green it was… it would take so much money and so much work ti get the slime off the pool. It’s cheaper just ti buy a new pool. Plus they don’t make those kind of above grounds anyways so it prob jus time for a new one and that was honestly the best way. It takes a good 24-48 hours to siphon that water with a hose. If you had a water pump that’s different but I’m sure she didn’t.

Thankfully I never experienced serious allergic reactions in my life. Some topical mild ones for sure. But nothing worse than my skin turning red, tingle and feel hot. And I dye my hair a lot. But I found that the shwarzkropf hair dye works for me. I use the color intense red (if that's even the correct translation) so all my hair doesn't look like a reversed dalmatian dog. Brown hair with tons of white hair mixed in it at the age of 21 thanks to genetics. But usually it's a good idea to patch test behind your ear so it's not super visible.

I developed allergies in my 30's after being diagnosed with an inflammatory condition. Now, to keep me from getting sick just to keep the greys away I use henna to keep my copper locks looking natural.
It is not as harsh on me and the smell reminds me of wet leaves in the fall. Not great, not terrible.

    • @Dobviews
      @Dobviews 2 года назад +1

@@zottelhuehs6375 It is a bit annoying on the wash out if you let it dry out too much while it is processing... I suggest keeping it wrapped with plastic to keep moisture and keep it from drying out and becoming hard like clay. My other solve has been rinsing as much as possible out and then adding conditioner to help release it from the hair shaft. The first application is the worst because you are applying it to the entire length of the hair. If you are like me with waist length hair... big pain in the arse.
After that initial dip one only needs to apply to the roots. Rinse, add tons of conditioner and work it into the pack and keep it damp for easier release.
Not everyone's favorite but I personally cannot beat the natural copper reds of my hair being matched perfrctly with the copper henna.

It worked so well that I now use it for unusually inconvenient as well as dangerous situations. Relative's shitty partner screwed up their phone settings? That rock on the fishing rod remined me of a funny incident. We where in our last primary school year. (4th grade) so everyone was around 10 yo. We where on a pony ranch.
On one day some people went out to go fishing and one of them caught a slip which was already funny. At the afternoon riding session his pony was answereing to the call of nature. All the girls in my class where horse enthusiasts and knew you had to lean forward and your legs back to give the pony or horse a better stance while at it and also to not get pissed on your shoes. I don't have to mention he did not knew that. Got his riding boots pissed on.
My teacher made a wonderful joke that that was what the slip he caught was for apparently, everyone laughed (he himself too).
