Finally, a watch enthusiast that actually shares personal wearing experience instead of just reviewing the specs. I like your take and subscribed after watching this video. Your take is unique. Please continue with the good work. I'm interested in your take on the Explorer 2 new model. Thanks
Awesome review! I bought my Tudor BB GMT 2 years and a half ago. Today, my love for this watch is the same than when I bought it. The accuracy is really impressive and everything works perfectly, I'm really happy with in every single way.
Really impressed with this rationalised approach to simply put the GMT where it belongs, not trying to hard to be anything but it self. This is why I’d never part with mine, it serves me well in many occasions. Many thanks 👍
A few months back i decided -- having clients in both Eastern Europe and Tokyo -- that i needed a 24hr bezel GMT, so i could click the bezel to change time zones. To make a long story short, i ended up selecting a homage to almost *precisely* this Tudor (but the dial, bezel and hands are a bit different) and jubilee bracelet also. At the time i thought of the design as probably being from a 1950s brand R GMT Master. For all the reasons you cite it is remarkably comfortable and appropriate in a variety of situations: supremely functional while understated. The current brand R GMT Master II is (as you say) incapable of not "shouting" attention to one's wrist; most all of the other GMT i found too "tool-ly" and diver-ish. Finally the remaining dress-style GMTs simply do not have taste or proportion to their elements. So i offer a very big thumbs up to your analysis here, which i found nowhere else when i was looking. -- gary ray😀
What an incredible review. I subscribed right away after hearing your take on this watch. I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. I had the Tudor pepsi last year and sold it as I got the call for my sub. Always king of missed it but felt like trying others. I’ve had the Pelagos 39, Tudor pro, even the Longines zulu in blue but i always kept thinking about the Tudor. Finally bought another and it’s special. Won’t be selling it this time.
This one must be the tenth of the videos ive watched from this chanel. I really like the depth of the videos. What a pleasant surprise to see my watch featured in such a positive way.
The Tudor GMT Pepsi is an outstanding watch. It is a great size with enough weight, however, not too garishly large. The blue/red is elegant looking, yet has a sporty look as well. The Tudor brand is such a great brand. Not nearly as flashy as Rolex....which is always a positive aspect.
I've just put my Tudor GMT back on after not wearing for a while. I thought I'd have a look to see if there were any new reviews that I had not watched and I found this gem! I was lucky enough to get a Sub and the GMT Master II was the next on my list, until I tried one on. It was to sparkly or me and that was when I tried the Tudor GMT which felt like the honest, jeans, down the pub type of watch I was looking for. After my Speedy, this is my favourite in my collection. Excellent review and subbed.
Visited my AD yesterday to try the pro on a nato and it was top heavy. Tried the pepsi gmt and now it haunts my dreams. "Buy me" "buy me". The AD is excited about going to watches and wonders, so looking forward to chatting to them aboit it. I really think a good relationship with your AD is a must on your watch journey.
Totally agree. I actually have a good relationship with an AD. A trip to the store takes an hour just talking about new releases and all. I’m looking forward to getting acces to some of the new watches asap 🙏
I love my Tudor GMT and I can totally relate to this review. You touch on all the qualities of the watch that made it a must have for me. You nailed it, I can see why it is still in your collection and yes the Palagos is my work watch :-)
I love your channel. Thoughtful, but your enthusiasm and enjoyment shine through. I look forward to the day that you are popular enough to report from Watches and Wonders!
Wow! Thanks a ton and glad you enjoyed it. I have some W&W stuff coming out - obviously I haven't been down their, but I still have one or two things to say about Rolex, Tudor, IWC and a couple of others. Cheers! 😀
Great review, but in many ways it’s better than the Rolex. - The dial has no date cyclops marring the crystal -- It has twice the water resistance -- The bezel is classic aluminum, not shiny ceramic -- The blue on the bezel is darker and more attractive -- The bracelet is entirely brushed, as befits a tool watch -- The bezel has a more functional edge and is easier to turn -- The crown is large and unguarded -- The bracelet is missing the Easylink micro extension, but I added one made by SteelReef and it is excellent. -- The hairspring in the movement is actually better, says Mosso. Am I on a GMT II waitlist? Yep. Do I care if I get the call? Nope.
The Tudor brand is great. It is the Toyota Land Cruiser / 4Runner Limited / Lexus GX460 of the watch world. Well built, outstanding legacy, not flashy, understated, and known by those who know.
I have the BB GMT on opaline dial. The bracelet 5:27 doesn’t have a glide tfit. so I put a rubber ZEALANDE strap on a deployment and it now looks and fits perfectly. I get a lot of compliments. I can’t wait to get the Coke.
I wear the GMT on Tudor’s fabric strap as my work watch, and I fly an Airbus! It’s definitely chunky, but I kind of like that; it feels rugged and ready to travel.
I’ve owned the same watch for three years and it has been getting fixed since 4/1/24 for a clasp issue , and it was away for 4-5 months with a little bit of condensation on the inside of the sapphire ,I hadn’t left the crown open either ;that being said I would not change anything about it and I don’t think the new one is nearly as visually appealing.
It’s a cool watch. And now there’s an opaline version apparently. I’m initially not a fan but haven’t seen it in the metal. Looking forward to trying it out though….
Love your review and 100% agree with you. This Tudor GMT is a lovely and cheerful watch, I love the rose logo on the crown, the snowflake hour hand, I’m not sure if you noticed, the hour hand hits all the markers and date window just fine, the red GMT hand has much better paint job than it’s bigger brother Rolex GMt masters, and it’s really accurate (+0.5s per day )
Glad you enjoyed the video. I haven’t done a side by side with a Rolex but maybe I should. Would be cool to deep dive on the differences in quality vs price. Thanks for sharing 😀😀😀👍
I was close to buying the Tudor GMT many times before but it took seemingly forever to get one on the bracelet from my AD. It became moot when I was offered the 126711chnr. I have it on a RubberB 😎. Best regards
I love mine as well, I don’t like the bracelet though so I have Forstner Model O that I wear it on. I just bought the rubber strap for the 2023 Burgundy and put it on my GMT, love it and I love that the t-fit clasp gives me on the fly adjustments.
Great review. I have this watch and it’s very difficult to leave in the box. I have a choice of selling this or a pelagos 39 and the 39 will be the one to go, there is just something very active about it - it makes you want to get out and try things. It’s a watch to live with and get life experiences. Top tip - I bought a curved rubber strap for it. It slims out the watch (I’m size and weight) making it a dream. I find it sits too high on a nato - although a grey seatbelt nato is very cool with it.
Good tip. Never actually tried a curved rubber strap on it. As for the Pelagos 39? Totally different wearing experience. More versatile, I think, but also less distinct - it is after "just" a black dial diver. Tough call. 😀😀
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch yesterday I went to the AD and he had a Rolex pepsi and a Tudor gmt. Price was not an issue but I grabbed the Tudor. Less shiny and more versatile. I bought the Tudor BlackBay GMT upon its initial release. I love it, except the date issue has happened twice over 4 years. Rolex waved the fee for the 2nd repair, even though the watch was out of warranty. After all, Rolex had my watch for 6 months, collectively, over two repair time frames.

Great video. I just bought my first Tudor, opaline gmt, and I love it. While I love watches, fwiw I would not buy a Rolex myself. It would be too pretentious and flashy for me at work.
