Great video! I'm deathly allergic to any kind of wasp sting, so seeing those wasps swarm out of the nest when you hit it, was the stuff of nightmares. Thanks for performing an important service. You're a brave man!

GEEZ! Everyone telling this guy how to hold his camera, like he's out on the lake or something. He's fully covered in a somewhat hard to move in suit, while spraying wasps with his main hand. What the heck do y'all want?! As for the go-pro suggestion, that sounds fine and dandy until you realize that something like that on his head would likely reduce the effectiveness of his head protection. Phillips Pest Control, you're doing an awesome job! We get some fairly aggressive wasps down here in Texas as well, every spring & summer. I always get them before they have a chance to get too big, but you're doing the scary pro calls! Stay safe, and keep up the good work, and awesome videos.
Yeah, see how those things were attacking the camera and his screen over his face. These things are highly aggressive and want to kill. They are the worst of any.
The movie "My Girl" with Dan Aykroyd as a mortician from 1990 - 1991 where the boy is in the forest kicks a Bald Face Hornet nest, and is killed. This reminds me of that movie.
I had a funny thought pop into my head while I was watching this.. What if he wasn't spraying insecticide, but gasoline. Then, as the customers watched in horror, he turned the hive, hedges and trees into an inferno. lol "O.K.! I got 'em!" That'll be $800 please..
Some would say no to pesticides, I say absolutely YES if it saves one child's life then it's more than worth it. Keep on killing those stingers we have plenty of Bee's to pollinate.
There is a type of yellow jacket nest in someone's yard here in the UK. It's the ground type and I walk past it every time I go to the shop. They are very placid and don't bother anyone unless you bother them

Thank You for sharing. You are really great at cleaning these Hornets out. It is really exciting to watch. It is NICE OF YOU TO EDUCATE people about these dangerous insects. My friend was clearing out brush...around a new home he bought. Beautiful neighborhood. Suddenly he ran into a nest....they swarmed him....and by the time medics could get to him ...he was gone. Some of these people leaving comments have no idea how dangerous they are but think know better than the expert. 🤪 KEEP EDUCATING THEM ...l know you will save lives. Thank you Sir for your Bravery. 🌿🕊
Hey I'm from Ireland and we have these little nasty things as well. I love watching your videos and think you are tough men for doin the job you do. We never have nests the size of the ones you get. You Americans always do things big.....lol
Mr. Phillips, you the man. I can't stand those dam yellow jackets. Keep up the great work you do and be safe. Even in upstate NY we have them. Growing up in PA my youngest brother was stung 29 times by them stepping into a hole. Was 2 years old and father rushed him to hospital. He survived. My father poured a cup of gas in hole and destroyed it. Nasty things.
Shout out from Mass. I enjoy watching your videos! Those bees surely do get PIST off.. Like a female during her PMS when you tell her there isn't any chocolate left in the house! Lol..😡🐝🍫😳....😂 Uh oh..Do poke her!😂 seriously though.. You should go to the grade schools & show these kind of videos & educate the kids on the dangers of messing with bee & honeys nests & what to do if they see them! I think you could save a lot of kids from being injured or even stung to death from a allergic reaction! Just a thought! 😊
Its probrey permethrin.but i would poured a half of can of wettable acephate powder mixed with some raw off road diesiel, dashed it on the nest early in the morning at 6:45am,he would had a 120+ days smell from half a can of acephate powder.i had a tree full of them, dashed that stuff in that hole, took about 2 hours the nest was dead, got stung tho.treated the sting with chewed up tabbacco
Your doing a great job I would just give you some pointers. One is to have a remote mic so we don't have to continue adjusting the volume and hold the phone sideways like you watch it on your TV in 16:9. Keep up the great work.
keepithd2010 Thanks for the comment ! I’m new to the whole video thing so I’m still learning. I appreciate all the comments and tips from y’all! Thank you for watching!
I already did an experiment when I was a kid. They went nuts and attacked the house they were nesting on. I still kept a safe distance and watched them berserk the house for a while before becoming disinterested.
Two suggestions. 1st, hold your phone horizontal...the same way you have your wide screen TV setup at home. That way everyone can watch wide screen videos...not tall skinny videos. Second, try wrapping a fine screen mesh arround accessible wasp nests, like this one, to trap most of the wasps in the killing zone. I would like to see how effective that would be in eliminating most of the wasps.
I just found this channel and what a great one it is, man this man knows what he is doing!! Keep up the amazing videos, makes me want to be a pest control specialist. Total pro
Larry Ehrlich Thanks for the comment! I may try your suggestion of the screen this coming season. I’m afraid that it’ll be almost impossible to get anything around the nest quick enough to prevent them from swarming, but it sure sounds like it might be fun! Thanks for watching!
Should dwell longer after hitting with stick and hold off on the soapy water. A kid won't have a hose with him and I wanted longer to see the reaction after hitting the nest.
How many varietys of yellow jackets are there?? I'm in Western NC, all I have ever seen in my 50+ years is ground dwelling yellow jackets. I've heard of them getting in-between the outer and inner walls of a home or two. Just curious.
My brother once hit a hornets nest with a baseball bat. He’s now 65 and he never did it again. Now he just shoots squirrels, possums, raccoons and skunks. Funniest thing he did was to a road kill armadillo. It was stiff, laying on it’s back with its 2 front legs sticking up. Bro was able to put a Budweiser can in its front paws so it looked like he was drinking a beer.
me 4 years old on my bike in Alaska road through a wasp nest. mom said i made it to the back door and was covered in wasps. i remember only the first bites.
I mean, usually experiments are experiments because you don't know what the result will be. I could make some pretty reliable predictions as to what would happen if you hit a wasp nest with a stick lol.
Not sure a kid would know what one looked like until it's too late. At 5 years old I got lit up when I hit an obscured fence with a stick. Those South Carolina red wasps... no joke. I was lucky, it wasn't very far from my house and my parent was home to pull them out of my clothes and hair.
I think the kid by hearing the buzz will never go close because the ancient parts of the brain remember this sound as a danger. I remember when I was a kid I entered an old and desolated home and once inside there was a loud buzzing sound! I looked behind and there you are! A huge nest revealed itself in its all majesty! I left the home quickly. It was probably a security system!
Thanks for your great vids! I'm physically disabled, and can't get out and do the things you do...it's very interesting watching a different side of God's creation like this!
Maybe you have learned this already but please hold your cell phone horizontal when video recording. Why? Because then your video will be recorded in the "Widescreen" mode...instead of the "Tall & Skinny" mode...as seen in this video. Please give it a try. Thanks.

kevin shaw I would think by the time the first frost comes they should be gone, but since they are in your air vent it may not get cold enough there to kill them off. If they aren’t gone by the first frost you should call a pest Control company to treat the nest.
Appreciate your videos. These are not honeybees that man needs to survive. These can be killers and are always aggressive. Except for Africanized bees, youhave to almost make most bees attack.

Hornets, although dangerous, usually don't swarm and sting people unless they're agitated. Then: Watch out! I agree with you, though, in the fact that these buggers are more in number, they can super-aggressive, and very deadly! And fast? Oh, yeah!!! They have numbers on their side, too. They can act as a unit, many coming at you so fast, that you don't have time to react, until it's too late!

Stuff like that is a real problem here in Florida, because it never gets cold enough for the nests to die off

Yeah because it’s that easy wearing that suit with hundreds of bugs trying to sting the fuck out of you.

They help control pest populations and are a better alternative than pesticides.
