I rode the big kawis and suzis for 20 yrs. C. 200k miles altogether....not really a bunch. Scads of fun. 75 now. Stopped riding 2019, sold the bikes cheap, all in good condition, maintained by a small motorcyce business....i ain't ridin' these days: walk with cane due to botched left foot surgery. State took away my dr license due to dementia. Wife drives the car. Live one hse removed from freeway....love hearing the MCs zoom by 😂 👍👍
Rule out the nakeds - too tiring for oldies. The Indian and probably the BMW are too heavy. Personally I think adventure bikes offer the best combination of weight, riding position and control, so I agree with the Versys and would throw in V-Stroms, Africa Twins, KTM SAS etc. At 76, I've had 3 of them: V-Strom 1000, Multistrada (POS avoid) and currently a 1290 SAS.
Well I'm 74 and came back to riding after a pretty long hiatus. Although I'm in better than decent shape for my age, I decided I didn't have anything to prove and went for comfort ease of handling, and reliability. I found the sweet spot with a 2016 Honda CB500X. I am delighted with this bike! The important thing to remember always is to RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE. This requires knowing yourself and your capabilities. Buying my little "X" 7 years ago was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm not going to allow anybody to undermine my joy with bad advice or macho posturing.
I consider myself a typical old guy rider, based upon my riding friends. I know what I’m doing and what is best for me. No vanilla bikes for me. I have a Triumph Street Triple for sport riding, a Tiger 800 for trips, a Honda Grom for urban hooliganism and a vintage Yamaha trials bike for off road antics. Buy and ride what you like, not what some nameless group or person thinks you should ride.
RE 650 Himalayan shown are both new and old models but details are of old Himalayan. I have a neighbor always saying more senior, more power is required.
Well, I'm 69. I ride a 2005 HD Night train. Carburetored. Got the twin cam 88. No Abs. 5 speed. I got no complaints. Do my own wrenching. When I feel like it, I ride my 660 triumph . All in what you like and are able to enjoy. Stay safe. Keep your face in the wind
You're right! Being a senior is not synonymous with being lame. However, even though you and others may consider you to be a senior, at 61 many older seniors consider you to be a "youngster". LOL! I'm on the edge of 80. For me, there's a pretty big difference between now and how capable I was 19 years ago. And chronic injuries make a big difference too. When I was 61, I was more like you. But as we age, more and more gets taken away from us. Hope you enjoy riding the hell out of your CBR600RR rocket for many years to come, my friend. 😊
So, basically, these are 6 random, middle weight, innocuous motorcycles to suit the perceived feeble and impoverished seniors plus the heavyweight and powerful K1600 for the few who beat the system? Please consider that If you are a motorcyclist and a senior you probably have several decades worth of riding experience behind you and don't need some youtube influencer "nonce" (meaning as per British slang) telling you what to ride.
I’m a senior and experienced rider currently on Harleys, but it is in the back of my mind that at some point I may have to go to a smaller bike. Smaller bikes are by definition less powerful so I’ll accept that when/if the time comes. I think this video is useful information to the likes of me and I am quite capable of making my own mind up as to my choice. (I can also ignore the patronising sales talk 😁)
I don't think those heavyweight cruisers are suitable for seniors. I'm in my late sixties and ride a 400lb bike. It's light and manageable and cheaper to run. And more fun.
I am pushing 71 in a few weeks; I have two Ducatis in the garage, a 2007 GT1000 Sport Classic and a 2012 Multistrada 1200 S. I'm not very tall and the Multistrada has become something of a strain to ride, especially when I am in traffic going up a steep hill; so I am considering trading them towards a BMW R 12. Anyone ever ride that bike?
I‘m way beyond 60 and have all the fun you can have on my Fireblade and VTRsp1, I Ride all my life and do trackdays in the Medium/fast group. What Are you talking about???
Hold on! We may be old but, we are not dead! I still have that need for speed! I don't want anything under 750cc. I will always want a bike that can pull away from car if I need to.
Sure, I'm 66 years old, some of these bikes would be a good choice. Just not for me, I still ride a ZX14R, zh2, and 1125r Buell for fun and a Goldwing when me and the wife want ride. It is more comfort oriented for the wife over the BMW. Great machine but I have to compromise a little bit of performance over comfort.
It seems as if you posted pics of bikes on a board and threw darts and then decided to tell us old folks what we need. It is not only ill conceived but a little insulting. We have all probably riding for twice as long as you have thought you know bikes and bikers. So rather cater for gen z and your ilk because we know what bikes we like and what works for us. Or maybe next time talk to us old folks or seniors as you say and get proper info without assuming we are to senile to think for ourselves. We a friendly bunch when you have honest questions .
Speaking as a senior this list is ridiculous and insulting; especially from someone who isn’t a senior and clearly has no clue what he’s talking about.
At 55, I'll stick with my 2018 Ducati Monster 1200S. Maybe you should update your "senior" and for God's sake get a real voice for your channel. I see why you have 35 subs. Ride whatever you want at whatever age, this wasn't provided by someone that actually rides.
Not a Harley in the group? This grandpa downsized from a Street Glide Special to a Breakout. Lost all the bags and the faring and about 225lbs. No distractions for this old dude. Pure bike with plenty of power when wanted!
This list is ridiculous to say the least, the motorcycle has no relation to age, I am 66 years old and I ride a BMW GS1250R Adventure, and I feel very good on it, certainly better than on a smaller displacement motorcycle. I am a 42 year old rider and I thought this list was designed for a beginner who does not have the skills to control the motorcycle he wants to ride. Age does not mean incapable!
At sixty nine, do I count as a senior rider. If so, sorry but this selection does not interest me, the only exception might the Triumph and that would not be high on my list.
Not sure what I just wasted 11 minutes watching. The best is everything from a quasi dirt bike to an all day 120 MPH mile eater to a 900 Lb road hog. IMHO after a 1/2 century of coast to coast and fire trails through the Sierras is to sit on the ones that have the body style you warm up to, then try and sit on one for at least a long day. Your body will tell you which one is a keeper.
This video lumps together all people judged to be 'senior' and then assumes that all they want is something bland and unchallenging. This is insulting and clearly nonsense. I'm 67 and ride a 750 Kawasaki triple.
At 72 there isnt one machine in this video that floats my boat. I own 20 machines from a 1970 T120 Bonneville to a 2017 scooter via 2012 Aprilia RS125. I find videos like this very patronising 👎🏴
Funny thing I was always told that with age there is maturity that comes with it. Why settle for something you’ll dump a few months later for something one can take longer rides comfortably. Back in the day when I was 17, I owned most of the British stuff, which brought its own headaches. Then in 65 the Japanese market showed up with a much better bike with almost zero upkeep. With in a few years the British bike where gone, even old Harley was hit hard. I’m still a hard core Harley owner. Won’t get near any of the new stuff from Harley. Harley has lost its pride and gone WOKE. Guess the gurus at Harley headquarters didn’t hear about old Budweiser. Soon the wizards at Harley will get our message. Boycott!!. Those many midsize bike in today’s market are just great as bar hoppers. Or short runs. However when the new wears off you’ll be on the hunt for something that is more comfortable. Plus you have the wisdom to ride with responsibility and not be a “hotdog” as you were around 16-17. Age and maturity is a good thing.
Looks to me like the majority of bikers are getting on a bit. Age has nothing to do with anything. You can't pigeon hole folks like that. Pointless video.
I ( 63 yo...) have the same Savage 650 1998 since 2002... 185 thousand kilometers through Brazil and the south of South America. Simple, basic and amazing motorcycle
I rode the big kawis and suzis for 20 yrs. C. 200k miles altogether....not really a bunch. Scads of fun.

the Honda NC750X-DCT is an excellent motorcycle for the senior rider. the automatic transmission make riding wonderful

No doubt at all The Amazing Triumph Bonneville T100❤!!!

@@michaelwelsh8957 great choice of bike. Ride safe and happy!
Great bike. I ride a 500 twin. Light and cheap to run. And I can get it on the mainstand no bother. I also enjoy it more.
The bonneville is not liquid cooled it’s sir cooled.!
@@erad05 It's both actually. It has a small radiator in-between the frames front down tubes.
Youngster here at 59, still riding my 86 sportster that I've owned from new

I’m 64. I enjoy riding my ‘72 H1D 500 and my ‘74 H2B 750. Both are Kawasaki 2 stroke triples and kick start only.
RE 650 Himalayan shown are both new and old models but details are of old Himalayan. I have a neighbor always saying more senior, more power is required.
I'm a senior and I'll stick with my BMW 1250RT.
I had a 2014 Kawasaki Versus 650 it was a fantastic bike in town & great on the highway basically everything you need.
Total nonsense. I am 61 and ride the hell of my CBR600RR rocket. Ride what you like, being a senior is not synonymous of lame.
No, it’s Not Nonsens! You are a Young guy ! I‘m 73 and think it‘s correct. I only miss the Kawa Eliminator.

RIGHT, my words!!!
As a senior who has not ridden in 30 years, I appreciate the insights. I am capable of sorting out what is relevant to me and what is not.

like to see a 70 year old picking up a Indian or BMW when its lying on the ground or even a 170KG bike
Wondering how many bikes in this selection the author has ridden himself, or is he just reading the sales brochures to us?
I don't think those heavyweight cruisers are suitable for seniors. I'm in my late sixties and ride a 400lb bike. It's light and manageable and cheaper to run. And more fun.

My Honda Hornet 600 S is a good option. 400lbs and 95 bhp makes a potent combination.
Recommending a 1600cc bike with 160hp to a senior?!
As a senior I say, "Fuck Yeah!"

Agree. I wouldn't recommend a 1600cc bike to anyone.
Im 76 been riding for 50yr .just bought 2023 fat boy great bike
Easy to ride
I'm 68 and alternately ride either a Honda CBR500R or CB500X as a daily commuter.

DR 400 SM with suspension work, decent pipe (street legal sound) good tires and you in shape . F-cruisers .
Ft Lb? This begs a question. How does Mr. AI know if a seat is comfortable? Does it have an AI butt?

Hmmmm.... you recommend bikes from 500cc to 1900cc, 45 to 160 hp, two cylinders to six cylinders, $7.000 to $20.000+, 185 to over 400 kg?
Good observation!
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Put a Madstad windshield on it and you are ready to go for a bit more than $6000

Can anyone teach that KI "Newtonmeter"?
23 nano meters of torque is fantastic 😂
The Triumph is the only one that’s not butt ugly and overly complex
Just go for big automatic scooters like the kymco ak550 or the burgman of suzuki. They are less effort and hassle while driving in my opinion.
What about Moto Guzzi?
This video lumps together all people judged to be 'senior' and then assumes that all they want is something bland and unchallenging. This is insulting and clearly nonsense. I'm 67 and ride a 750 Kawasaki triple.
Harley Freewheeler.
low seat height is important
Das sind Motorräder für Frauen. Hayabusa, R1, 1000RR, Panigale V4 sind für Erwachsene oder Senioren.
I am on a FLSTF at 83
K1600 for seniors 😂😂😂😂😂
THE T100 IS WAY TOOHEAVY, I KNOW I HAVE ONE.
Ce sont des motos pour mes petits enfants !
interesting how it took Triumph 5 years to copy a Royal Enfield.
Man that metal right below the tank on a Honda 500 really is ugly
