Have just stumbled across you guys as I was doing some research into my first Super 8 project and instantly hit subscribe. You are providing an invaluable service in helping people break into the analogue formats and I can't thank you enough! On the subject of light meters I've been struggling to properly engage with the TTL exposure meter in my Sankyo Super CM (the 1966 model) as despite splashing out for some the of MR-9 adapters courtesy of Small Battery Company I still don't seem to be able to get my light meter to appear in my viewfinder, I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong and wondered if you guys could give any advice. Thank you once again and keep up the amazing podcast.

Thanks for the subscribe! Some older camera meters just "conk out" from exhaustion or electronics fail. If you have inserted new batteries and getting no action from your meter, it's probably spent. Consider grabbing another vintage camera from eBay. Hope this helps! - Mike

Video @ 32:49 - "a Super 8 camera that has a lens with 'F' stops ?" - Well there are several easy to set manual f/Stop units; one TRUE bargain (plus real easy to perform a DIY service on) that is fully manual is the Argus Model 800 (802 has a meter). a.k.a. the Sears Súper 8 C110 etc. - Many other not-so-bargain units are the Bauer, Nizo, Zeiss Ikon Moviflex and of course the fantastic 'French' Beaulieu units... - What I've found about most every Super 8 unit that I've encountered, is the fact that they're all battery operated designs; they TYPICALLY experienced battery leakage at some point over the decades (to power the Motor and/or the Metering systems). So unlike with the Regular 8 hand crank style, contact corrosion is always a concern...

I have the same Bell & Howell T-20. I purchased from ebay in the early 2000s for $5.00. I had a family Chinon S8 that I had from the early 80s but was stolen. I just like the B&H, it's light weight, small enough to put in a small bag.

Hey FPP gang, Mike from the South (the southernmost south) here. I would love to get into Super 8 film and would like to know a good camera to buy?? There are many options to consider including the ones mentioned here and I’m overwhelmed. My budget is $100-$200 and I’m afraid to buy a camera that won’t last long and wind up breaking on me sooner rather than later. What’re y’all’s recommendations? BTW I really enjoy the video podcast, thanks!

If you're new to Super 8, grab yourself a Bell and Howell 431 Super 8 camera. Want smaller and cheaper, go with a Bell and Howell T20xl. These are all vintage cameras so they can break anytime. Treat them well and they'll probably last longer than you think! When you're ready, we have film, developing and scanning for you - filmphotographystore.com/collections/movie-film Thanks for watching! - Mike Raso

Am I correct in saying that I can put any film in any super 8 camera? I understand that the amount of pins will dictate what film your internal light meter is able to detect but what if my meter can only detect 100asa? Can I stick a 500t in it and just meter with a handheld external?

What would be really cool is if Kodak Came out with a 25 Daylight color negative.
