I live in California and there are a lot of middle Eastern fabric stores that I frequent. The prices are always so good for what I think is an exceptional product. I love all the silks and embroideries as well. I'm working some into lingerie patterns and others who knows! What a treat.
Saw this notification in my feed and I was like "YAAAAAAAASSSSSSS!!!" Since I know the pandemic made these kind of vlogs so much sparser and after I'd binged all the ones you had, I was super sad. I'm in fabric buying timeout until I use up my own stash, so I shall live vicariously through you ^_^
I believe I watched on IG, I loved your entire fabric haul! I'm almost as excited as kid in a candy 🍬 store to see what you make! Enjoy choosing your patterns!
I’m going back for my second trip to Dubai in a week or so and I thought I better watch all the Dubai fabric hauls. I sewed up everything that I bought so far from last time except for one length of fabric and obviously I’m about out so I need more. Thank you for giving me some clues about where else I should be looking!! I love Dubai. It’s a great city. If you have to be in a city it’s a good one to be in. The weather was glorious. The water was beautiful, and the view from the top of the Burj is amazing.
This video would have really come in handy about 6 months ago. My friends were able to go to Dubai and I asked them to pickup some fabric for me. Did I mention that they don't have an ounce of fabric knowledge or expertise? I knew what I was getting into though. I told them to pick things that look nice and focus on jeweled tones. They could only find one store, which seemed to only sell designer fabrics. Money definitely didn't go far. We'll be better prepared next time though. Thank you for that.
Thanks so much for ‘taking us with you ‘!!! Oh I loved seeing ALL the gorgeous fabrics and sightseeing Dubai ❤️❤️ Love yr fabrics , I am sure you will make beautiful garments, u r such a clever sewist . Waiting to see Istanbul….!!
surprised to see this vid pop up in my notifs as a uae resident! glad you got to see some of the fabric stores in dubai, im in another emirate and honestly even if theres a barter culture that may be intimidating you can get some absolute steals and really generous sellers at times that will deduce your final price (in my experience at least). theres something nice about the flexibility since im sure some wholesale places in other parts of the world wouldnt entertain the idea of selling to a customer, your haul is lovely by the way
That woks...it was a barter. I talk myself out of the process I bring a trusted friend to stand strong in my place. I like the colors and patterns. A different wold for fabrics (for me.) thank you
Love these videos! Excited to see what you make from the cream and sage fabrics. Also I noticed you picked up mainly solids, I’ve been gravitating to more solids as well, so versatile!
Wow you got some beautiful things!!! I will look forward to some videos of you making some things out of them. I think my bartering skills are really good, something I learned from my Dad. I usually offer crazy low and see how much they come down then I go half way between and keep doing that till we agree on a price.
Nice vlog, I am an emirati and I’ll tell you something, first, if are going to visit Dubai again come in the winter, the weather is way much better, and about the shops you visited, Al Salem and regal considered a kind of pricey comparing with other shops, Al satwa is fine but the best are located in bur Dubai but not those who you went to, there are another retail shops that has very nice fabrics with a very reasonable price, like 60 AED per 4. Meters, there is also a nice fabric stores behind the dragon mall, it’s like a fabric factory I guess, unfortunately I’ve never been there.
I hope you got to see the Dubai Museum, which features info about Dubai before oil, and before the old town was torn down to build all the new shiny buildings. It's very interesting! Loved shopping in the souks! Thanks for the vid.
Ohhh that last fabric is gorgeous, looking forward to seeing what you come up with for that! I cannot barter at all, I much prefer paying what someone asks! My husband on the other hand, loves it and is a pro so he does all the talking for me haha! Looking forward to the next haul 🙂
You are a revelation! I love the shot of you on the Lime scooter! Can't wait to see your Turkey video as well. I have mediocre bartering skills. Love the crepes. But really love all your choices.
Fabrics are gorgeous. The one I love the best is the last one, the black velvet burn out. I saw early in the video you notice it. I thought I hope she get it because I would have. So gorgeous
I enjoyed your video and your fabric choices. If you come again, give me a shout and I'll show you around. Satwa is great but Regal is probably the most expensive shop. The area of Bur Dubai you were in didn't look like what is affectionately known as Fabric Street (Cosmos Lane) and you didn't touch the Naif Souq on the other side of the Creek. The haberdashery in the Naif Souq area would have blown your mind!
Love your beautiful fabrics. I’m not sure I could sew with silk (just not brave enough). Regarding haggling, I find it difficult as I never know how low I could haggle down to, so you getting down to 15% less I think is great 😊
Great additions to your stash. You have inspired me. I've always wanted to go to Dubia , I've been to Egypt and Tunisia love the people and the eastern quisine and rose tea.
Oh my God you are so lucky that u can travel all over the world and buy fabric what a dream job you or your husband have thank you so much i love your content🥰
I would have lost my mind at the velvet burnout fabrics!!!! It’s my dream to sew a bunch of tunics like the ones I got in India, so I probably would have purchased all of the shirting fabrics, too!
It's not dubai gate it's dubai frame. The largest photo frame in the world. The design idea behind it is that if u see through it u see old dubai on one side n new dubai on the other.
those fabrics are gorgeous! dubai looks like a wonderful place to shop...and bartering at markets and shops is definitely a learned thing..lol, u can borrow my mom who is queen in it😂...look forward to seeing what you make esp with the burnout velvet..tfs:)
So interesting! I expected you to have head coverings etc. I'm surprised you only had a face mask for covid procedures. And showing cleavage? I expected you to be arrested!
I have to roll my eyes at you saying you dont know if it's advisable to walk around in the market. No offense dear but Dubai is safer than most places in England. I lived there for 8years. This comment doesn't specifically have to do with you in particular but everytime I see a westerner traveling else where, they always have to say something ignorant. We don't say such ignorant things about your countries because we educate ourselves. On a positive note, I do love your videos.
'Sorry guys, it's going to be a long one....' - ermmm, yes please!!! 🤩🤩🤩.....because we loves the fabric!!!!!
Thank you ms.ayisha for visiting our shop in dubai mall, salem altamoda.hope to see you soon again!this is danica.

Such beautiful choices. I’m afraid to leave my house I’m so addicted to buying fabric! I know how you feel. There’re so many beautiful fabrics
Thanks for showing the sites. The fabric you picked is beautiful.
Thank you for this. I have a couple of days in Dubai coming up, and one of those days is 100% buying fabric!
That woks...it was a barter. I talk myself out of the process I bring a trusted friend to stand strong in my place.

That first fabric would look lovely in the new Masin Atlas wrap dress that just came out.
Love these videos!

Thank you for this video. I am going to Dubai in July and will definitely visit fabric stores. My bartering skills are nonexistent 😢.
So many of these fabrics are so unique and beautiful!
I absolutely loved the first Emerald Green giraffe Fabric 💙💙💙💚 I can’t wait to see the final make with one 👗

Fabrics are beautiful. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Can’t wait to see the outfits you’ll be making.
LOVE these videos. Thanks for sharing-so fun to watch. It's like a little travel education and a delightful look at fabric wrapped in one.

Have you see the Atlas dress by Sewing by Masin? It would be perfect in one of your first fabrics!

Love your fabric purchases! Do you have a blog featuring clothing you have made? Or a website?
Velvet burnout I think is called Devore
Love to see your fabric shopping trips!
Loving your fabric choices , the satin/ sheer combo looks really good . I also really like the jacket / top you’re wearing is that me made or RTW ?
I wish I had known you were here!! I would have taken to the best places where I get my fabrics. Next time!!
those fabrics are gorgeous! dubai looks like a wonderful place to shop...and bartering at markets and shops is definitely a learned thing..lol, u can borrow my mom who is queen in it😂...look forward to seeing what you make esp with the burnout velvet..tfs:)
I love LOVE your fabric hauls ❤️🙌🏻
Thank you so much for your videos!!! Really enjoy everything !!!!XX
You could make a luxurious evening robe outta one of those chiffons!
Such a fun video! Thanks!
How do you find out about fabric stores when travelling? I have found that just a google search is often inadequate..
My family has connections in Dubai...lovely city.
Have you been fabric shopping in south America?
Do they have plain?
I may be wrong but from what I just heard the Dubai frame is to show the old Dubai on one side and the new Dubai on the other side.
As you look through it.
You go girl!
Purrrrrrfect! A catsuit for the cat lady. 🤣🤣🤣
Love your videos! Just found your channel. Would ypu shate the pattern number of the shirt you are wearing.
Great share but the sound is hard to listen so perhaps a proper mic?
Awesome fabrics.
At those temperatures the silk makes sense 🤣
Can I get the site or numbers of the shops please

Goodness do not be sorry for this being a long video!! 🤣
