Dell X14 or X16? Or do you have your eyes on something else! If you missed it I gave my first impressions on the Razer Blade 16 & 18 which you can find here - ruclips.net/video/BwhC4dEB4hg/видео.html
I have my eyes set on x16. I owned the x17 r2 but had to give it back for a refund as dell could not do a replacement. Now I know why. Thanks and you got a new subscriber..
Honestly after having g14 and blade 14 i got the x14 and i am in love with this thing . The best 14 inch laptop period unless you need more power than 3060 .
I am on x17 R1, I would say, Alienware X series is more like a luxury/premium brand. You know it's more expensive, but you buy it because you want something cool and different, because most people are gonna use Asus, MSI, HP, or Lenovo Legion anyway. There is nothing wrong if you like the style, design, look, and/or quality. There are ladies who buy brand-name bags and/or clothes. There are guys who buy Lexus/Acura cars because they don't want Toyota/Honda. Some people buy iPhone 14 Pro Max (top spec) just for simple daily use. It's fine to spend $300-$400 more for a laptop you like, something you will use for years to come. If it's something special that you will look at every day and it put a smile on your face. Just get something nice for yourself and don't have to be very strict on Price/Performance on everything. Also, if people can wait, Alienware is a bit overpriced but Dell always has sales and the discount is insane. The Spec and Price are very competitive last Black Friday, I would say it's better than Asus. Asus has a good lower MSRP but I don't see many good deals from them (except BestBuy).
I've really enjoyed my X14 a lot, but the X16 is cool this year. They've solved a couple design issues with the X15 I had. I hated how the X15 had a power plug on the side; I thought it ruined the clean aesthetic. More importantly, 1 TB port was limiting; I really need at least 2. The X16 fixes both issues. That said, it's gigantic, and I'm looking forward to seeing if some non-gaming laptops this year might be worth buying instead of gaming laptops. Last year, I felt like you needed a gaming laptop to get any kind of performance. Meanwhile, I have a feeling the 4070 this year should be pretty power efficient and might make its way into a lot of mainstream laptops this year, and they might offer enough performance for the games I run.
A Dell rep. on a Hothardware CES video said they will be adding AMD Zen 4 CPU's to the X Series of laptops in Q2. As soon as the x16 has a Zen 4 CPU and a Mini Led screen it will be an instant purchase for me. Although it is thicker, the x16 is a big upgrade from my Alienware x15 r1 cooling wise.
The x14 v1 already has a large width/depth due to the cooling solution at the back making it an awkward 14inch laptop shape...now the v2 with the 16:10 screen, it will be even wider/deeper which will require an even bigger backpack. I guess the tradeoff to the bigger screen is worth it, and hopefully the cooling solution as well (less fan noise). Also I may be part of the minority, but I don't like the color mismatch of the back of the screen (somewhat silvery) and the laptop back (white)
very good point. I'm afraid of knowing how large the width/depth will be for the x16. Only way to justify the added depth is like you said is better thermal with this rear cooling design.
MY ALIENWARE 13R3 I just put fresh ram in it , 32gb 13in OLED touchscreen 1440p screen , 1060 gpu Alienware is going backwards IMO It's built like a tank as well.
Dell/Alienware did say that there will be AMD options in Q2. I wonder whether that will be an all AMD build or whether we will be able to get Zen 4 CPU's with RTX 40 GPU's?
Did they fix the fans on the X14? I loved the laptop but had to return it due to that issue. The fans were so loud and they turned on all of the time with no ability to control the curve.
STILL NO 13R3 refresh? damn Mine from 2016 has OLED touchscreen 1440p , 1060 gpu 6gb full power, 32gb ram replaceable, 2 storage slots , all in a tanky 13 inch chassis. Typing this comment on it right now.
Dell AW/XPS lineup seems the most "form over function" laptop on the market, meanwhile, Apple make macbook pro thicker to be a better real world tool, wonderting how the market responds to those different design ideas
Talk about the laptop when you get the actual laptop, taking about a new device while showing us the old model is useless we all can get this information from a picture just like what you did
@@MatthewMoniz I just don't get the use of making a laptop an inch "taller" and applying an unconventional aspect ratio, both for consuming and creating. But everyone has their tastes.
Outdated inefficient design that only looks good when the lid is closed, the G16 is more interesting. When I posted about all the 16" and 18" laptops released on reddit, the entire comment thread for Alienware was filled with complain and frustration… don't think anyone's excited for Dell, Alienware is a thing of the past.

India: The king of overpriced electronics...
@@cameronbosch1213 how you came to that conclusion ?

I like the new colors.
We need more color in our tech life.
I agree!
I agree it should've been a mini LED screen like the Razer Blade 16 and other laptops.
Dell is slacking on the screens all across the line, especially in comparison to ASUS.
OLED

any new update to when they are adding the ryzen chips? It's past Q2 now..
I can't get passed those old-school 2010s chunky bezel chins. Get rid of those and you have a great looking design IMO
why couldn’t Alienware just make a X18 and throw in a decent numpad, trim down the bezels for once, and give us a bigger trackpad with rgb
Price is always the issue with Alienware and Razer, up-charging a device because of your name is ridiculous in this day and age with the competition.
Since the X series came out I have been commenting to AW how much cleaner the series letter would look. It’s a shame the “M” still has the number
No mini led/OLED:

In another video at a CES showcase Dell said they maintained the same size?
So is the m 18 going to be better than the x16 performance wise?
I wish the X16 came with a Mini led or OLED
Why is the combo jack at the back. That's just mental

they cant beat a satisfaction to build up PC component from 0 to full part, and of course thendesktop performance
