some 10 years ago, chinese phones were quite popular as an alternative to brand phones because they were of moderate quality, cheap, didn't come tied to mobile companies and in some cases actually better than expensive phones at the time (BLU phones were my damn favorite). conveniences goes out of the window when you make your knockoff phone so expensive and nowhere higher in quality and since the western and allies are cutting them off from quality materials and tech, it is basically like buying a fancy novelty paperweight.

Have been using the Huawei laptop and that laptop looked fantastic with great screen materials just a great laptop, however, people hated it, the drivers were not great and the laptop had significant issues with stability and small problems were appearing and disappearing. I'm not recommending Huawei to anybody.

The browser lagging issue is a possible screen processor problem experienced by apple's products a few year ago. The pixels are more than the screen can handle with not enough ram. change to mobile mode for webpages. Or the person's new phone is targeted by criminals. they shot some electrified magnetic dust on the back of the phone which Jammed scrolling functions and tapping function. I actually noticed that in one of the electronics stores. The demo units were definitely running way better but the release models get laggy after a while. I don't know if it's the SoC or if the OS is messed up but I never expected something like that from Huawei. I installed a device statistics viewer app and when it comes to RAM, it's not fully used up and the CPU usage is like jumping up and down sometimes which is kinda concerning. I definitely returned the phone and started using my old phone again which was definitely running better despite being 3 years old

Didn't a teardown show the chip is actually exactly the same as the P60 series? They hadn't even bothered to change the serial numbers. It may have been slightly overclocked compared to the P60, but this couldn't be confirmed.

That P70 has overclocked issue. I remember to over clocked my phone back in Cingular phone days around 2007. You can make your phone to have 120% performance but software will glitchy and froze at time and battery will drain fast and hot. Sounds like China is doing the same.

P70 with downgraded processor is 700... P70 pro and above with 9010 processor 900-1.4k works decently fine. They just gimped the lowest model way way too much.

That men should be able to get a new phone replacement from the Huawei store easily due to a faulty product! 1 out of 100 new phones could have happened, specifically most phones, to be assembled by robots in the factory. I owned both iPhone and Samsung phone. Today I had to restart my flagship Samsung phone to get some working apps run normally. I cannot log into my working apps due to i had both google map and my work apps opened! They both need to use "My location" to operate normally. So I had to close the google map to get my work apps working again. And its works! This lag is quite often happening to apps using my location setting (GPS)! Especially if you are operating a multiple Apps at the same time. with "my Location" requirement. That mean it will jammed if you don't closed the other similar apps.
I have a P50 Ultra and it's a good all around phone with a fantastic camera. That said, the limitations with no GMS services and Chinese build quality on basically everything severely decreasing means I won't buy the Pura 70.

Because phones are tied to spending and bank access. They are a social accessory that has an element of fashion and style. Intentionally. Hence why folding phones are coming out, again. Makes me laugh. Harmony OS, is also Linux just like Android. All they've done is rebrand what the person sees, when the phone starts it says Harmony OS, when he looks at build numbers and software it all says Harmony OS but in reality it's just a different kernel that's almost the same as Android. It's a joke that China (and some clueless foreigners) actually believe they've made a brand new mobile operating system, but it's just something almost identical to Android, it's still Linux. To make matters worse their latest Harmony OS copy now cannot use APK Android apps, well it's just making the files slightly different so they can't cross platform. In other words you'll be even more limited than when you could use Android apps on Harmony. So silly that they think this will make the device a better seller, are they trying to make devices nobody will want?
I need to address this before telling everything else, you're on the money about HarmonyOS not actually be a new OS(at least until their project NEXT, but I'll have to re-assess that). Keep this in mind because what follows is pretty much the opposite of defending Huawei. To sum up what I've said below, Huawei did something even more shameless than what you've said. To clarify your knowledge about the difference between HarmonyOS and Android, first I need to clarify the difference between Android and Linux. Linux itself is, of course, a kernel that an OS can rely on, like GNU. This is why often we hear linux distros actually have an alternative name, GNU/Linux distributions. Directly using this section of an OS is pretty common, back when Nokia developed MeeGo they've also used Linux, so HarmonyOS using Linux shouldn't be a massive problem, except... Android would rely this kernel to install compute drivers, then uses an abstraction layer, which makes program codes possible to run on a hardware, to install external hardware driver(camera, mic, sensor etc.), then external programming language runtime(C and C++) and a virtual machine that carries the necessary runtime to make executing APKs possible. Then we'll have a layer of UI and system utilities written by Java, and lastly the apps! Huawei basically copied EVERY FUCKING PIECE OF THIS back when they first launched HarmonyOS 2.0 in 2021. They changed every android-related name to Huawei's label, like they relabeled Android debug bridge to Huawei debug bridge and blocked ADB terminal access through hard-coding which only allows the relabeled HDB terminal to do stuff, and they chabged NOTHING about that terminal. They even go as far as re-packaging their original apk applications to their new "proprietary" .hap packaging WITHOUT CHANGING THE FILESYSTEM AND RUNTIME! This remains until HarmonyOS 4.0, so 2 years after. This was when the filesystem was supposed to be changed and be ready for their project NEXT, but someone has found that they STILL haven't deleted the virtual machine that's necessary to run Android .apk applications, but they've introduced a new compatible layer which mirrors their new .hap filesystems to both of the original Android runtime libraries. Basically, someone realises that Huawei essentially found A MORE COMPLEX WAY TO PACKAGE AND RUN ANDROID APPS, but NOT ACTUALLY CREATING A NEW SYSTEM! They'll Definitely not have any success they have without the state-level of support and defense given by CCP.

I actually noticed that in one of the electronics stores. The demo units were definitely running way better but the release models get laggy after a while. I don't know if it's the SoC or if the OS is messed up but I never expected something like that from Huawei.
I installed a device statistics viewer app and when it comes to RAM, it's not fully used up and the CPU usage is like jumping up and down sometimes which is kinda concerning. I definitely returned the phone and started using my old phone again which was definitely running better despite being 3 years old

Just to clarify, there was one P series phone that had 3D face recognition - P40 Pro - and Mate 40 was released in 2020.
That P70 has overclocked issue. I remember to over clocked my phone back in Cingular phone days around 2007. You can make your phone to have 120% performance but software will glitchy and froze at time and battery will drain fast and hot. Sounds like China is doing the same.

I owned both iPhone and Samsung phone. Today I had to restart my flagship Samsung phone to get some working apps run normally. I cannot log into my working apps due to i had both google map and my work apps opened! They both need to use "My location" to operate normally. So I had to close the google map to get my work apps working again. And its works! This lag is quite often happening to apps using my location setting (GPS)! Especially if you are operating a multiple Apps at the same time. with "my Location" requirement. That mean it will jammed if you don't closed the other similar apps.

I have a P50 Ultra and it's a good all around phone with a fantastic camera. That said, the limitations with no GMS services and Chinese build quality on basically everything severely decreasing means I won't buy the Pura 70.

Makes me laugh. Harmony OS, is also Linux just like Android. All they've done is rebrand what the person sees, when the phone starts it says Harmony OS, when he looks at build numbers and software it all says Harmony OS but in reality it's just a different kernel that's almost the same as Android. It's a joke that China (and some clueless foreigners) actually believe they've made a brand new mobile operating system, but it's just something almost identical to Android, it's still Linux. To make matters worse their latest Harmony OS copy now cannot use APK Android apps, well it's just making the files slightly different so they can't cross platform. In other words you'll be even more limited than when you could use Android apps on Harmony. So silly that they think this will make the device a better seller, are they trying to make devices nobody will want?
Even Linux is more useful, and more original than Harmony OS itself.
I need to address this before telling everything else, you're on the money about HarmonyOS not actually be a new OS(at least until their project NEXT, but I'll have to re-assess that). Keep this in mind because what follows is pretty much the opposite of defending Huawei. To sum up what I've said below, Huawei did something even more shameless than what you've said.
To clarify your knowledge about the difference between HarmonyOS and Android, first I need to clarify the difference between Android and Linux. Linux itself is, of course, a kernel that an OS can rely on, like GNU. This is why often we hear linux distros actually have an alternative name, GNU/Linux distributions. Directly using this section of an OS is pretty common, back when Nokia developed MeeGo they've also used Linux, so HarmonyOS using Linux shouldn't be a massive problem, except...
Android would rely this kernel to install compute drivers, then uses an abstraction layer, which makes program codes possible to run on a hardware, to install external hardware driver(camera, mic, sensor etc.), then external programming language runtime(C and C++) and a virtual machine that carries the necessary runtime to make executing APKs possible. Then we'll have a layer of UI and system utilities written by Java, and lastly the apps!
Huawei basically copied EVERY FUCKING PIECE OF THIS back when they first launched HarmonyOS 2.0 in 2021. They changed every android-related name to Huawei's label, like they relabeled Android debug bridge to Huawei debug bridge and blocked ADB terminal access through hard-coding which only allows the relabeled HDB terminal to do stuff, and they chabged NOTHING about that terminal. They even go as far as re-packaging their original apk applications to their new "proprietary" .hap packaging WITHOUT CHANGING THE FILESYSTEM AND RUNTIME!
This remains until HarmonyOS 4.0, so 2 years after. This was when the filesystem was supposed to be changed and be ready for their project NEXT, but someone has found that they STILL haven't deleted the virtual machine that's necessary to run Android .apk applications, but they've introduced a new compatible layer which mirrors their new .hap filesystems to both of the original Android runtime libraries. Basically, someone realises that Huawei essentially found A MORE COMPLEX WAY TO PACKAGE AND RUN ANDROID APPS, but NOT ACTUALLY CREATING A NEW SYSTEM!
They'll Definitely not have any success they have without the state-level of support and defense given by CCP.
