Dragons Dogma 2 news and gameplay. This is a new, extremely deep look at the mystic spearhand, the sorcerer, the magic archer, and the trickster. Running through most of their skills in detail.
This video will also show off enemies battling each other, treasures, mountable ballista, blasting enemies into the sky, the sitback and watch vocation, first person controlled arrows, crazy physics, and some new enemies.

Warfarer vocation: Magik archer, mystic spearhead and sorcerer is gonna be so fun
The only vocation I am sure I won't play first is Warfarer. I want to pick that 100% second run.
@Dantics Sounds good. I personally believe it will be unlocked later in the game, which will give players time to have a feel of each vocations. This is the beauty of the game anyone can play how they like and it's still gonna be fun haha

I'm tossing up between fighter and thief to start honestly.

@@Dantics the main thing keeping me from playing thief is that I'm curious how NPC AI for more agile pawns have improved since Dragon's Dogma 1, where I played Strider because I didn't trust AI to play it competently enough. Now, I'm hopeful about it.
warrior is the only class
I'm just happy Magick Archer has a physical skill this time around. Metal Golems were a nightmare in DD1 for the magic classes
If you pressed L3 you'd be able to change the reticle to manual and aim it. This works on the majority of spells, affinity spells for example normally only target others but L3 changes it to prioritize the player instead.

@namelessiam7792 Lmao, it's only after posting it that i remembered they were immune xd. Still it's a good feature to know as a magic class.

Couldn't imagine that running around trying to find a cliff for enemies to walk off would be fun at all. Basically seems like you simply sit back and watch AI play the game.
Pretty sure cliffs won't be the only hazard you can have them run into. In the first game you have exploding barrels everywhere and in one of the first trailers there was a breakable wall to damage and soak a cyclops. Set up stuff like that and you're golden, but you'll needa have a keen eye to take advantage like this or lead monsters to fight each other

Deffinitely trying out Sorcerer and Trickster. I love magic classes in games. Sorcerer in the original was basically everything that makes people go "Yup, that's a mage" but viewed in a more action focused light: Big AoEs, Big Damage, Big Cast Times, Low Defence. And DD2 looks to be a continuation of that, with even more tools to mess around.
Trickster seems like it tackles a more unique and difficult playstyle, which is unusual for what it looks like it's supposed to be a support class. Being able to manipulate aggro and enemies' FOV is sorta like an official version of the exploits you could use in the first game, like baiting enemies into pits or trapping them behind a wall. But yeah, it does seem like the player *really* needs to study what each skill do, when to use them and how to prepare their layout.

Yup i cheesed the whole dark arisen with the magic archer. But the spear looks like my type of weapon. Im sending goblins to the sun.
Plan on maining Thief! Really hope the Pilfer skill is returning, new and improved 🙏
Gotta say, I do like how Dragon's Dogma sorta made you think about how to attack your enemies based on their weaknesses/defenses & it's good to see they have continued that trend with the sequel.

Mystic spear seems great, but the custom class is gonna be my bread and butter, I wanna mix thief skills with it, teleporting and dashing around, just packing an obscene amount of mobility in
Trickster appears to be a pawn management vocation. Interesting concept but testing will be needed to decide if it'll be fun to play or not.

@atrainn - Disagree. Watching this clip, it looks ridiculous. Basically you're hoping ur pawns kill enemies before u get destroyed for not having any active attacks. Or hoping that there's always a ledge that grounded enemies will fall off. Seems logical that flying enemies will dominate Trickers
Cant decide between thief (intial choice) or mage to start with a fighter main pawn to tank aggro for me while i either stand back and melt enemies with magic or climb on them and cut them to ribbons....either way 1st time with a dd game and cabt wait, preordered....that download cant come quick enough now!!

@@HyouVizer Pawns can't be Magic Archer though. They can be archer though. I'm thinking between archer, sorcerer or fighter as my pawn partner...
Maining theif. I want to get Warfarer eventually to have theif and mag archer with the 3rd being either trickster or mystic. Not really sure which though. I tend to be better with tactics in games rather than straight fighting, but at the same time i'm kind of worried I won't enjoy the class. Especially since sending them off cliffs means missing loot. Also i'm wondering if you can bring things in the inventory to create traps or if it has to be something already in the environment. On the flipside I think mystic's abilities may end up being more useful than trickster in regards to fighting tactics. Wish there was a demo where I could try them out to figure out if I like the playstyles. I can't tell from watching others and I don't tend to always like what other people do.

You don't have all the vocations unlocked at the start so you'll need to pick a basic :) that's why
I want to start with archer and switch to ranger class if it’s in the game, but if not i will use magick archer
@@adamtheexplorer8725I haven't watched or read much on the game. How exactly did they get rid of minmaxing? Do specific vocations not gain specific stats on level up like the first game? Or do you get to choose which stats to raise?
@ziiiiiiii754 Theres no ranger class anymore, the regular Archer has all the Archer skills of Strider, Assassins and Ranger. While the Thief has all the dagger skills of Strider, Assassin and Ranger.
Sucks we dont have any warrior gameplay from this demo, but if this ends up being what the public gets that won't be an issue.

- I'd be extremely surprised if Anyone chooses and sticks with the Trickster.
- Cowering behind invisible walls and hoping the enemy falls in the water or off a cliff seems ridiculous.
"Probably felt a bit embarrassed for the Trickster" lol. Tell us how you really feel about the vocation. Really though, hitting an enemy with the sensor doesn't "do nothing" it builds agro so the monster focuses on attacking you or you smoke distractions and not your pawns.
Definitely playing as a trickster but I hope I can do better than this dude does, lol. Also hope I can unlock it relatively early.
did they add a co op or multi-player feature to the second one in the series?
Unfortunately not, hopefully it’s possible through a future update or mods cuz this looks so fun co-op

Melee are the only viable vocations. As you see in yhe magic archer gameplay here, the pawns dont help at long range most pf the time. So long range characters just have to solo most of the game essentially

@@votpavelWhile I think op is extreme in his opinion, 30 fps should not be defended 😂. Is it cinematic? Sure. Great for watching movies and TV on, but not so good for fast paced gameplay. Not having 60fps in even 1080p in 2024 would be crazy. It should get the same energy Starfield's optimization got.

@@votpavel This is definitely fast-paced combat. Speaking from experience, playing the first game on PC after console was such a major upgrade. The higher fps makes a real difference.
