Hello!!! I must admit it sounds dreamy being able to just put the plants outside for several months and watch them thrive. Thank you for your lovely compliments on my bedroom, it’s definitely my favourite room in the apartment and the anthuriums are the star of the show for sure.

It very well draining so yes, it does dry out reasonably quickly, and yes the idea is to water more. I will say, I find that it is best to mix it with aroid mix so that you balance the water retentive ness with how freely draining it is.
It’s absolutely okay to cut leaves off if they’re unappealing to you. I think that is where this community can go a little “overboard”. To each his own in my world. I cut leaves for the plants health and for my happiness as well. Wait I am going to say it and throwing plants out (yep I said it). 😊

I have a couple of plants that came in tree fern rich mixes, and I find it gets very dry. Is the idea to water more frequently?
