Skypiea is such an amazing arc and so many important things happen. When i first found out the so many people in the community dislike it, I was honestly kind of awestruck.
I love how fast her view on Pierre changed. She started out so impressed and in awe, only to dial it back and call him cute. It was like something out of a cartoon. The same goes for her sister with how her smile fades so fast.
Bug catching and keeping them as pets is a big thing in Japan, especially for kids during summer. Many kids, if not most, can identify different bugs, especially beetles, by heart. It really highlights Luffy’s childlike wonder in these scenes-so refreshing and endearing to see, even in a fantasy story like this 🥹
it's not even a japan exclusive thing, the adults are just more serious about it compared to other asian countries, but most young boys in east asia(from korea to philippines to china to indonesia, etc.) catch beetles all the time and make them wrestle or tie them to a thread and have a flying pet on a leash.

I keep saying it but I never cared about reactors until I met this channel and this is still the only reacting channel I follow exactly because of that. To talk about multiple personalities for Black Beard, the 3 Skulls Jolly Roger, etc. They got there so early, much earlier than most people, it's quite satisfying for someone like me who has been reading the manga for over 20 years. Although I still think that calling "they" was about the crew, not Black Beard itself, Luffy and Zoro could sense that all those guys were different and part of the same crew.
Their insight and attention to detail makes me feel like they love OP as much as I do. That's why I enjoy rewatching with them. Even subbed to the Patreon to watch full episodes with them and I still come to their channel to see the edited versions. I'm having lots of fun watching with them.

i LOVE the ending of episode 152. you know its good when they put on the first opening - they did that when we said goodbye to vivi as well. it always feels like even more of an adventure when you remember where it started! and its SUCH a good nami moment when she goes "if its winds and the sea, i can navigate it!" !! shes the best

So, this was the part of the anime that got me really invested into the anime, by itself. I had watched the anime as a supplement to reading the manga, with most of my focus being on the manga while just being a casual anime watcher. But watching Merry fly, while listening to We Are, and then seeing the sea of clouds was such a game changer for me.
I follow many ONE PIECE reaction channels, but the anticipation toward these two finally witnessing and enduring episodes 310 - 312 is just building up in me like crazy. I also loved their Shogun reactions and because so…. I would like to float this and hopefully gain traction with other fellow subscribers. Why don’t we petition to have “Midnight Diner” started as a reaction series? I realize many here may not have seen this, but believe me, it is a tear jerker and I think this is what Haylo and Kiss truly excel at. Throwing this out there, I will keep pushing this in other comments, hopefully others will see the same potential and assist me in getting this on their radar.
Some people struggle with this arc. They feel that it drags on a bit and its not action packed enough for them. However i think you both are really going into it with the best mindset. Its an adventure, a totally new world of undiscovered wonders. I love your description of "the culture of heaven" such a unique but apt way of putting it. There are very political and culturally heavy tones in this arc, im curious how fast you guys pick up on it. Have fun!

If anything, his devil fruit made him has to train 2x harder cause the natural state of his body is all bouncy, makin his normal punches just bounces of it's target at back to his own face

As for his flag, I see it and get combined Cerberus and Fates vibes, which squares with his role in this moment as someone who puts great stock in chance and destiny like the triple incarnations of Fate in Greek myth, as well as someone who will go after someone's head to achieve his dreams, connecting death to the underworld by way of the three-headed hound. Is that correct? Who knows~
