What Zoro did after Robin said she want to live is called "kin-chou"(金打), pull the sword out and put it back. The action is simple but means I use my life to promise you.
burning the flag is not just indicating that they're fighting the WG for Robin, Luffy just shows Robin that burning the flag means they have now the same burden as she has. Luffy shows Robin that they are willing to go that far for her.
I love the fact that none of the crew members even think about it for a second before literally declaring a war against the whole world. Before they were just pirates but now they're direct enemies of the world government. Luffy said you leaving us because of this burden you carry, then we'll share this burden with you. Made me cry, not gonna lie.
I feel like people read too much into it, I mean it's Luffy we're talking about. 😂 It's more like "If you're scared of the WG then we'll just have to beat the WG" I doubt he'd thought it through any more than that. It's a beautiful moment regardless, no need to think about it too much, like Luffy. 😋
To this day, I still feel Robin's backstory is the saddest and most emotional. And that's speaking as someone who's caught up with the anime. The future arcs have a lot of hype and action-packed sequences, animation to them, but the storytelling of Water 7/Enies Lobby + Robin's backstory are what I'd consider the most evocative narrative.
Daaamn still calling it the saddest backstory after around 700 more chapters is definitely something, I'm not entirely sure I agree cause we all know that there are a LOT of horrible backstories in those chapters (especially considering the ones in Thriller Bark, Fishmen Island, Dressrossa and Wano) but honestly, It really is up there and if it's not the saddest one it has to be top 3 at least. Definitely puts into perspective how well written this story is.
@@Iqnacio. yeah, there are def some gut-wrenchers in competition. Having your family and friends wiped out and being alone, betrayed, and on the run from childhood til an adult though? Its a tough one to beat
@@GB-jo9ky For sure and that's what amazes me, the fact that it might get beaten depending on who you ask, and even more so considering that it's not just one other story that could beat it but actually quite a few.
I always thought the duality between Sakazuki and Aokiji was interesting. Sakazuki has fire powers but is so cold hearted, while Aokiji has ice powers but is warm hearted
@@Cybit. You can lie to yourself however you want. You can say it's good, but No. Dub will never be as great as the original, specially english dub. English accent makes anime sounds like kids cartoons.
14:34 Little info for the JDanime2 duo 😁 In case you were wondering what the MOVE Zoro did here is: Fulfills a "swordsman's vow". Basically "He swears.. takes an oath that he will do anything to save/protect Robin chwan" This is where you see even zoro (who a calm and cold character) will do everything to bring back their nakamaaas! Mattééé Lrooobin let us do the rest! 👒Ep masterpiece what more to say🤝
I love how Luffy doesn't force anyone from his gang to do something, he waits the same way it was with Nami, I wait for her to make a decision and ask for help to just help her 👒
believe me, this i want to live moment of robin cemented one piece fandom to continue the loyalty to oda all through out. this moment at least for me is the best moment in one piece
Yes, me too. It's the whole misunderstanding being cleared up, and the sad backstory mixed with the Straw Hats' determination that broke me I love stories about hope, and this one broke the floodgates for me
Robin has only ever known people who use her and then turn against her. This is the first time someone didn't turn their back on her, the straw hats showed her love and compassion. Notice how after this she actually calls everyone by their name, but by the position they hold on the ship.
I feel ya Frankie! And imo Luffy's immediate "BRING IT ON!" before Douchedine even finishes his sentence is hands down the most badass "challenge accepted" moment in television history.
I think saul is somewhere still alive, because the attack of aokiji is called "Ice time capsule". I think he was imprisoned and just waiting to be freed again.
love how robin is 28 while the rest of the crew is less than 20 in age. she was robbed off of her years in her life and this is what she deserves to get.
Aokiji is actually like a nickname/title Kuzan got for being an admiral! They never actually explain this but it's a neat fact! It literally translates to blue pheasant!
omg both of you so smart when u guy discuss about this stuff, your sense of this story its like u guys knew this storyline ahead. so rarely people undertanding the storyline so specificly only watch anime without read manga. Well done.
there's few backstories as absolutely mightmarishly scary as Robin's is - when you learn the truth about SMILE...well yeah - but it's her life after the Buster Call that makes hers the most tragic, nearly 20 years of constant terror, fear and rejection from the world for what a child learned to impress her mother, only for Luffy to shrug, not give a damn who threatens his friends and take on that burden with her makes this the best thing ever.
Top 5 favorite moment in all of one piece!! The character development, storytelling, plot…EVERYTHING is as good as it can possibly get with not only anime, but writing in general😭🔥🔥
I think this one episode alone should be included in moral textbooks. Too much psychology of each character is clogged up in this. I think that it is a teaching material worth discussing at school.
I think that it's important to remember that the marines recruit from the general population. The World is really big, with lots of islands, and most people believe that the Government is at least mostly just. They know that pirates are evil, because they see what they do, often first-hand. So many people join the Marines because they think that they will be upholding justice. While most realize that there is something wrong with the system, this probably only happens after they've been doing the job for a while. At that point, while it may shatter their world view, they are in too deep to do anything other than resign. Most probably stay, trying to rationalize all of the messed up shit they see, developing forms of justice where they just close their eyes to the injustice of the Government. I do think that a lot of the high ranking Marines that we've seen probably want to rise in the ranks in order to maybe be able to change things. But I also think that many of them are simply just coping after the realization. Maybe they have just accepted it as reality and try to be as just as they can be in their positions without trying to rise in the ranks (like Smoker). The Government is all-powerful, so opposing it is a massive, almost hopeless move. That's why I'm very curious about how Coby's career will progress, since I think that he is meant to be the Fleet Admiral to Luffy's Pirate King, someone who ushers in a new era for the Marines.
maybe because your youtube is getting known by many people from the one piece community..so you are already on the radar of the "world government"..now your behavior is in their attention..😅 but don't worry we will always support ours nakama .!👍👍👍

I think Aokiji is just.... complicated, is all.
