It actually the opposite it because Luffy is rubber that why zoro could survive, if Luffy was a normal person he would have taken more damage but because he's rubber he doesn't take as much blunt damage like when garp hit him one of the characters respond say he should not have felt it

Not at all Zoro felt the same pain that Luffy felt. He said it himself he repelled his feeling of pain and fatigue not the punches he took. For example when Moria put him in a box and stumps on him. Luffy felt nothing because he is rubber and therefore that is not added to the damage Zoro is taking here. I understand the confusion because of the way they show how Zoro felt the pain like punches coming from everywhere

Zoro obviously still has cool moments, but from a character development perspective, Zoro has been borderline forgotten by Oda...

This episode also strengthened the bond between the top 3, and Sanji and Zorro in particular. They know the are willing to sacrifice themselves for each other and most important Luffy. And it showed Zorro that he had to step up his game too... it showed him how much damage Luffy is was taking for his crew and his dream. So he took his own damage and Luffy's on top but if he couldn't have done that the journey would have ended right here. Pivotal moment.
Unfortunately,even though sanji was willing to give his head,nobody gives that respect to him. Also, waiting for "BROOK'S BACKSTORY". Guess we'll together again!😂😭
Sanji's words as he's offering himself for sacrifice are quite telling, foreboding and sad, considering what will come and how little and replaceable he always saw himself as.
This just occurred to me but now that I've noticed I absolutely love the fact that the camera cuts away and doesn't show us. It's like the camera is honoring Zoro's wishes in a way. Zoro asked Kuma to step away for a reason. We, as the audience, are meant to learn the message and meaning behind the act... so we at least have to witness that nothing happen(ed)... But that doesn't mean we have to watch nothing happen, which I'm sure Zoro would prefer we didn't, ya know?... Bc nothing happened!

Think about the beginning of Thriller Bark and somehow we find ourselves here. The next episode is absolutely terrific too. Kuma speaking about Dragon as if he expected his son to have phenomenal friends was something that caught me completely off guard. It's perfect to tilt the audience like that so that the knockout blow of "Nothing" happening at the end hits even harder. People have speculated for years and years about Vegapunk: what he's about, does he have a devil fruit, how did he get so advanced, etc. Since the Manga has been completely on fire the last few months, it's almost easy to forget that we've gotten some new info about him! We've actually found the answer to one of your questions :) That's why it's nice to take an episode at a time so those nuggets of information from back in the day that are still relevant can be seen in context.
