I might get one of these mini pie makers. Have seen these before. First, i want to see the tecipe on here about cooking this lamb shank, it looks really good.
I live in Borneo and bought 2 units via an Aussie contact. You opening this up every few minutes is an eye opener. I thought I had to wait for recommended times but my top pie crust always looked too brown. Poor eye candy although they taste great and the pies really hold the heat for at least an hour!

I actually spent 2 days looking for videos and recipes online before diving in..but you did a great job. I wonder for the second Batch if I have leftovers filling.. should I perhaps turn off the pie maker and then on again so that way my pies won't over brown while the inside dough wasn't fully cooked
Use the fold over method to make your pies, use a muffin tin to hold the pies in place while you make them and then transfer into the pie maker with an egg flip. You can hold 12 pies in the muffin pan while waiting for each batch to cook. When you open the lid to check just crack the lid and peer in that way you don’t let all the heat out. Put a folded tea towel on to of the pie maker to help it retain heat.
The pastry doesn’t need egg or milk wash ..pies brown without. I have a sunbeam pie maker. So much better that a Kmart brand.all pies take 12 minutes to cook
As you probably worked out from all the comments.....the instructions say to heat the pie maker before putting pastry in.....but honestly this is really hard to do without burning your fingers as you worked out 😅 Next time I'm going to try not preheating 🤔
Kmart actually originated in the US! I don’t think any of them are open anymore, maybe a couple in a small town somewhere, but they used to be everywhere. They bought Sears and that was their downfall really, as both were struggling already and they just kind of dragged each other down. Well, that and private equity. Private equity ruins everything. It’s sad because Sears had so much potential. They should have leveraged the internet and online shopping early, especially since they were originally a catalog company and know that field and would have done well, but they would have been Amazon or at least a good Amazon competitor. I really kind of feel like the guy that bought both of them had a huge ego and cared more about stoking that ego than he did about the companies or their employees (my ex-husband used to work for Sears corporate and actually now works for Amazon corporate in finance). Eddie Lambert was his name and he is a huge jerk and really destroyed the employees 401K as well.
Please tell me yours has a recipe in the instructions for chocolate dam pet (damper)? My pie maker (the big one) had its closing clip break, but a sharpening stone on top works just as well
My God! These come with basic instructions. Instead of turning it off after you discovered it can burn your fingers you marched onward with it on and hot! LMFAO! We have K-mart in US. Been around forever but Walmart is squeezing them out. Yes, stick to cooking, baking will not be pretty. Lol

as with most things, it really depends on altitude, humidity, temperature around you, etc. You kind of have to eyeball these things, especially something like this that can be highly variable especially depending on power source etc.

I dont spray mine with oil, there is enough in the pastry already, i couldnt believe what you were doing with all that oil spray.

You could add the mash too, yum
