I got Pro 2 with lightning already and see no reason to upgrade. Best airbuds on the market for sure!
Thank you for the description of how adaptive audio and conversation awareness works. I’ve been sensitive to loud noises since having corrective surgery for a congenital hearing problem in my left ear about twenty years ago. I have the MagSafe version of the airpods pro and I use them as protection against loud noise situations so I don’t get overwhelmed and affect my balance. Can’t wait to see how the new features will further enhance my experiences with loud noise situations when out and about with family and friends.
I just got my first Apple product. (I'm a Samsung fanboy). I got the Apple Airpod Pro 2nd gen new at Amazon. I have a Samsung S21 ultra and have been using Sony earbuds XM3s. And I was annoyed that the earbuds kept falling off. These pros are excellent! They fit well and won't fall and light. Unfortunately, as a Samsung Android user, my options are limited because the third-party apps on Google Play are not great. I found out that you have to watch out for clones. One accurate indication is that it will say, "assembled in Vietnam." Fakes will say otherwise. I did the pain of going back and forth in buying and returning on Amazon, and finally got the real deal of purchasing the Airpod Pro 2nd USB-C version.
The biggest issue here is that you cannot add Airpods to your Apple ID account if you don't own iPhone or iPad, owning Macbook doesn’t enable you to pair Airpods to your Apple ID. Crazy.
All the other devices you’re talking about have Apple Silicon in them. There are still quite a large number of active (support the latest OS) MacBooks which don’t have Apple Silicon Although I have an Apple Silicon MacBook, it doesn’t automatically switch to the MacBook That’s probably the reason I suppose
I don't think I've ever once used the wired/lightning cable for charging my AirPods Pro (2nd generation), opting for the wireless/MagSafe charging. Renders an "upgrade" to USB-C kinda moot in my opinion since there aren't many other added significant features.
Awhile back I had purchased wing tips from Amazon for my AirPods 3rd gen super comfortable, inexpensive and very secure, I love them . The other day I went into a public restroom and wasn’t wearing the wing tips and my right AirPod fell on the floor in urine droppings, used paper towels to pick it up and threw it away. The only draw back to the wing tips is that you have to remove them to charge them it’s not really a big deal. Anyway now my excuse to spend $250 for new AirPods.
Great info and review. I went usb-c everything. 15 pro max, 1 terrabyte titan blue, ultra 2 blue ocean band, AirPods pro 2nd gen. I’m ready for the headset next 😎
I recently upgraded from lighting to usb-c airpods... There's a lot more going on here... The usbc ones seem to offer better noise cancelling.. Connect more quickly to devices.. Just feel overall snappier... I'm coming from early gen lightning airpod pro 2's that I've used for a few years... This is my experience with apple products in general... The tech specs don't show any reason to upgrade.. But actually there is a LOT of refinement going on under the covers that provide a big usability bump...
I still have my airpods pro 1st gen, and my iphone 13 Pro max (not planning on upgrading) those are the only two products of mine that don't use usbc, eventually when they die out then I'll upgrade to the newer usbc models such as airpods pro 3rd gen and the iphone 16 ultra going forward.
Something that should be mentioned is that the production quality, is not that good. For instance lines or seams, that sometimes look like cracks from day one. When you take them back to apple they do not replace them since they consider them as cosmetic damages. You pay 259 dollars and you get a product with cosmetic damages. Fantastic!
I work in a wood shop and dust resistance is very important. Now that USB C AirPods Pro 2 have this, I finally bought my 1st ever AirPods at the 🇺🇸 $199 price on Amazon. Best Buy has them at this price as well.
I thought the new audio modes were Apple hype and big words but I was wrong. I own AirPods 2 with lightning and Adaptive Audio with Conversation mode is my new default setting. It's upgraded my overall user experience by taking what were great earbuds and making them better
Just picked up the Pro 2 USB C when I picked up my 15 Pro Max. As everything else I own use USB C except my Series 6 watch. So a pair of a earbuds and phone was worth it to me. Wish the AirPod max was USB C and water/sweat resistant then I’d replace my Focal Bluetooth headphones as Apples ANC is majorly better.
As an original gen1 AirPods Pro user, I picked up the 2nd Gen AirPods Pro 2 USB-C at Costco for $199 where they included AppleCare+ (usually $22.95). For my Feb ‘24 purchase, it shows coverage til 2026. The previous ones had been a faithful workhorse across this Apple ecosystem: iPhone 13PM, iPad Pro, & MacBook Pro… abuses like max-volume PUBG gaming sessions (gunfire) & repeatedly noise-cancelling a 100dB leaf blower in the cold may have finally blown out the right bud after some 3-½ years. Knowing where its torture limits are, I anticipate the new ones providing a lengthy pampered service life. 🤘
I was doing construction around the home. I was power hammer drilling concrete walls and used my airpod pros to adaptive cancel the incredibly loud drill volume and still hear my surroundings . Really awesome . The drill was less than 12 inches from my ear.
I still have been using wired EarPods lol but now I will definitely upgrade to AirPods Pro 2 USB-C. Will also upgrade my iPhone 11 to 15. Glad I held out on getting AirPods
Dude I literally have been doing the same and I am planning to buy the same also. It’s been a struggle with my 11 and wired earbuds but the the patience is gonna pay off soon.
should see if there's any noticeable difference between these and the wired usb c which are lossless with an iPhone 15. you can charge them with Apple Watch charger. they have them for $189 now.
I love that they have improved the personalised Spatial Audio on the gen 2 AirPods Pro they sound much better, when I tuned it on, on the 1st gen they didn’t sound that great
My original AirPods Pro bit the dust back in January and I’ve been waiting for a new model. Just got these a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been enjoying it.
I have the first gen as well. How do they compare in terms of removing the buds from the case to your ears? My first gen’s sometimes take an annoyingly long time to connect and sometimes I have to manually select it in the control center. I got some USB C knockoffs and they instantly connect, but ANC is not good. I’m considering upgrading to the legit USB C 2nd gen pros, but need some feedback. Thanks!
I have the first gen AirPods pro and honestly the biggest reason for me to upgrade is the charging through your phone. However, it’s still not a game changer. To top it off, I bought a 15p already and getting the ultra 2 next week. Apple received enough of my money this year 😂
I’m in a similar situation - my first gen AirPods Pro had a mic issue within the 1st year and required a warranty replacement. Then five months later one earpiece developed a severe distortion problem (at over $200 I didn’t spring for the addtn’l Apple Care plan). So the very week these new 2nd gen versions with USB-C comes out I was on the fence about spending $250+ for another pair of these things. But the biggest draw for me was the significant improvement in their noise cancellation over the first gen that everyone talks about. I ordered them and plan to spring the extra $$ for AppleCare on day 59 after purchase to extend the warranty as far as possible. Fingers crossed I don’t regret the decision to give them another chance. These 2nd gen AirPods Pro better sound (and last) significantly better than the short lived first gen pair I bought or this will be the end for me and Apple AirPods. I’ve got a ridiculous collection of AirPods and AirPods Pro sitting in a box that have disappointed me with their cost to value ratio. This purchase is the last chance I’m giving Apple with earphones.
I think I got a combination of a crap pair to start, then a sub-par refurbished replacement. All my prior AirPods (pre-Pro generation) outlasted these. I am looking forward to finally getting volume control on the stalks.
Just brought mines from Best Buy for $199 while on Amazon was $199 but went up to $249. So I had to buy it while it’s $199 on BB before the price goes up.

One of the best things about them for me is that they lock to magcharger. I can also hear my own voice when talking and understand what I’m saying when I hear it in real time. If I laugh or sing along to a song though it will lower volume.
I’m waiting to see what the new Beats Fit Pro have to offer when those come out because they stay in my ears better. Hoping they have touch controls and a smaller case with wireless charging.
@@timwhite8500 The only major downside for me is the buttons instead of touch controls. Pressing buttons pushes the earbuds further into your ears, which is annoying.
I would LOVE to see you do a video review of 3rd party tips for AirPods Pro 2 🙏 There are SOOOOO many to choose from and I really value your opinion and appreciate your EXCELLENT reviews. Foam Masters? Sonicfoam? Link Dream? Lanwow? Proof Labs? Comply? SpinFit? CharJen? I love AirPods Pro, but they just do not fit in my ear well, no matter which size tip I use from Apple. Please consider doing this video. Thank you 🙏 PS: I have many other earbuds with silicone tips. Some fit great, some not so great. What seems to be the factor for me is how deep in my ear they go. My most comfortable pair are a cheap $20 Jlab Go Air Pop I got just to use at the gym, but now they are my favorite earbuds above even my AirPods Pro 2 which cost $250! The only issue with the Jlabs are the mic is bad for phone calls. Other than that, these would be my ONLY earbuds and I'd be happy.
I literally bought new AirPods Pro 2nd gen last month without knowing there would be new ones coming this month, but I’m glad that the differences aren’t that big
Hi Brian! You always have great video reviews. I just picked these up for my wife. I would like to know the best way to show my wife in chinese about how to use these and the different options.
As a person that can do without wireless charging (mostly heat, and speed), I was literally gonna pull the trigger Best Buy had the new buds marked down to 200 bucks this weekend - until I found out that I can wireless charge my AirPods Pro 2 lightening case with my Apple Watch charger. Since I will always have to charge my Apple Watch wireless and I will always bring that cable with me when I travel, I won’t get the new ones.
I have iPhone 13 mini and an iPad. I just bought the lightning version of the pro 2 because it’ll throw a scanner in the works otherwise if there’s one device using usbc.
Thanks for sharing this video. I loved it. I like all of your videos. You tell it like it is and I like that. I will not be purchasing the airpods pro 2 USC-c. I purchased the airpods pro 2 lightning a few months ago and I will keep these until there is another big change. I have lots of lightning cables and when I want to update the earbuds and the case, I lay it on my charging station and I am good to go. I seem to buy items at the wrong time. So, I will be waiting for a minute. Thanks again for your time making this great video. Have a great rest of your week.😊👍
Hey Brian! I am a big fan of your Apple reviews and channel. I appreciate your honesty and suggestions. I have the AirPods Pro 2 w/ lighting and am so happy with the new features. No need for me to upgrade. Thanks for helping me see that.
Personally they weren’t worth the upgrade for me, but i just had to buy new ones cause it developed like a popping/crackling noise. I had them for almost three years.
Very well presented also useful guide to the new features, how to select the different options and the differences between the latest Air Pro 2 models . I have version 1 and haven’t even looked at the vision pro so am therefore more than satisfied with what iOS 17 has brought to to the table 😁👍🏾
I feel like these new AirPods can probably do lossless easily with the new iPhone 15 and Apple Watch 9/2 but they just want to wait for the new ones to make this a new feature and keep it only for the headset idk 🤷🏼♂️ maybe they will add it in a few months who knows. I was disappointed when I bought them that I couldn’t chose USB-C
Apple should sell the case itself separately as some users may just bought their AirPods Pro 2nd gen with Lightning recently. So they will have to replace the case only.
Brian Tong, thank you for the informational vlog. I just watched and decided I wanted to buy since you mentioned the Best Buy deal of 50.00 off regular price! Preordered today. Thank you so much!
I just bought the Airpods pro gen 2 with lightning for 40€ cheaper than the one's with usb c. I have been using galaxy buds+ for 4 years and I always charged them wirelessly and I don't think that will change
I’m only upgrading because I’ve mistakenly washed by 1st gen AirPod pros a few times by forgetting them in my pants pocket. They still work but can hear static and the mic is now a little wonky
Man i remember in 2014 watching this dude show me how to jailbrake my iPhone 3GS lmao

Personally they weren’t worth the upgrade for me, but i just had to buy new ones cause it developed like a popping/crackling noise. I had them for almost three years.
I just ordered them today. My very first AirPods. 😬
Very well presented also useful guide to the new features, how to select the different options and the differences between the latest Air Pro 2 models . I have version 1 and haven’t even looked at the vision pro so am therefore more than satisfied with what iOS 17 has brought to to the table 😁👍🏾
Those updates apply to Lighting Pros Gen 2 even the H2 its inside to. dont confuse to people, the only change it's the charging ports.
After watching this vid I’ll stick with the AirPods 2 version 1 until a new flagship arrives next year. Great content, thanks brother 🇬🇧
And then next year you will stick around to the year after and after and after
@@Pesticide7G right lol, you will never have the best technology...
As of 12th of September, I have declared war against lightning. So these are a must for me.
Apple should sell the case itself separately as some users may just bought their AirPods Pro 2nd gen with Lightning recently. So they will have to replace the case only.
I think you can order the case only as a replacement part. Its $100.
@@staceyedwards527 Cheers for that. Will be my Black Friday gift.
H2 on the next Apple TV please!!! Lossless audio for Apple TV+ and Netflix would be amazing 🤩
Remember the tampon memes in people’s ears and yet people now wear them. 😂
Brian Tong, thank you for the informational vlog. I just watched and decided I wanted to buy since you mentioned the Best Buy deal of 50.00 off regular price! Preordered today. Thank you so much!
You are good And funny😂❤❤ THEY ARE A REAL GAME CHANGER‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Just cancelled my order for the USB-C AirPods + Apple Care. Thanks Brian, you saved me £258.00. Cheers 😊
I have AirPod 2 with lightening and I don’t see a big reason to upgrade. I will be happy with the software update.
This is very helpful. Thanks.
@Brain: flower shorts? Really Brain? 😂😂😂
Thank you so much for your review. i am wondering if this pods has got a good noise cancelling comparing to Bose QC Earbuds.
Do you recommend upgrading from pro gen1?
So glad RUclips suggested your channel to me, Brian! Been a fan for years and excited that you’re doing your thing your way!
I'm glad you found me again! Thanks for watching!
OMG BT and me both gave the same Apple Watch bands and the same face!!!
It was meant to be. We are clones.
Bro how did you get your watch ultra titanium to look like stainless steel?!
I hate the adaptive audio so far. It doesn’t seem to block out much noise and it gets really loud for no reason. Not sure what the benefit of it is.
I just bought the Airpods pro gen 2 with lightning for 40€ cheaper than the one's with usb c. I have been using galaxy buds+ for 4 years and I always charged them wirelessly and I don't think that will change
My launch day AirPods Pro Gen 1 set is having the cracking/popping issue when using noise cancelation. It’s time.
Since I lost my Right pod I should probably upgrade to the USB-C version.
Do the old cases fit the new ones?
Good job.
All features got added to the lighting one with the new ios
Hey bro. Where is that strap for your Applewatch from? Looks great. 👍🏻
I’m only upgrading because I’ve mistakenly washed by 1st gen AirPod pros a few times by forgetting them in my pants pocket. They still work but can hear static and the mic is now a little wonky
